12 Let's have a talk

A few days later, Jaeho was at the faculty walking along the hallway to meet up with his supervisor due to the submission of his thesis. He was alone as he told Il Hwa to go somewhere else while waiting for him. As he was walking to the end of the hallway, he heard an argument between two guys. One of the guy voice sounds so familiar to him. Therefore, Jaeho decided to listen to their conversation behind the wall.

*he sounds like the voice during the phone call* thought Jaeho while listening.

"Yah, you told me you haven't finished giving me the money that you promised. It's been freaking two years!" shouted one of them.

*mMoney?* thought Jaeho.

"Should I give you the whole money?" asked the other guy and snickered. "yah, two years ago, I TOLD YOU TO KILL THAT GUY. NOT TO KILL THE GIRL! You killed the wrong person. So should I pay you?" asked him.

"Il Hwa was someone that I cherished. Why would you killed her?!" shouted him.

*Il Hwa?!* thought Jaeho in surprised. Then, he begins to take a look at them for a while and was surprised to see Byunghun.

"You killed the wrong person and you want my money now?!" said Byunghun. The other guy was so mad at him and straight away punched him on the face furiously.

"Damn." The guy cussed, as he spat on him and walked away, leaving Byunghun there with bleeding mouth.

"Aishh that guy." Said Byunghun as he wiped his mouth from the blood. Suddenly, while he was picking up his bag, he saw Jaeho was standing not too far from him.

"So, you've heard it?" asked Byunghun.

"Let's talk somewhere else." Said Jaeho trying to hold his anger and lead the way and Byunghun smirked while following him from behind. From a far, Il Hwa who was waiting for Jaeho was sitting on a bench. Then, she saw Jaeho was walking with Byunghun following behind him.

"Jaeho-ah!" called Il Hwa, but he didn't turn to look at her.

Il Hwa noticed that Jaeho seems mad and decided to follow both of them quietly. The three of them were walking and Il Hwa noticed that they are heading to the rooftop. Not wanting Jaeho to see her, Il Hwa decided to eavesdrop their conversation behind the door.

"Why? Just why?" asked Jaeho trying to hold his tears and anger. But Byunghun just let out a chuckle and snickered in evil.

"You asked me why?" asked Byunghun. "I KNOW HER FIRST. I LOVE HER FIRST. BUT WHEN YOU CAME, SHE JUST THOUGHT OF ME AS A FRIEND!" shouted Byunghun in anger.

"Il Hwa was a very nice girl. WHY DID YOU KILLED HER?!" asked Jaeho as he grabbed his collar. "If you love her, why did you do that, huh?" said Jaeho.

Meanwhile, Il Hwa, who was listening to the conversation got so surprised that both of them were talking about her. Turned out Byunghun was the one who killed her.

"We both were good friends. I fell in love with her. I confessed to her, but she rejected me. Do you know why?" asked Byunghun "because she chose you, over me. All these years, I was always there for her but she never noticed me." Said Byunghun.

"I thought of killing you so that Il Hwa could lean on me. But that guy just now accidently, hit her with that damn truck instead of you." Said Byunghun as he paused for a while. Jaeho was looking at him and thought of punching him but he holds his anger and balled his fist instead. "You think I don't feel sad? Regret? I did. Because I love her. You're not the only one who have a hard when she's gone." Said Byunghun in a lower voice.

While both of them were talking, Jaeho noticed a familiar figure standing in front of the door. "If you love me, you would never do that Byunghun. You would wish me happiness. But why?" asked Il Hwa as she cried walking towards them. Jaeho who saw her, wanted to hug her and tell her that he will always be there for her but he can't. Because Byunghun doesn't see her.

"You are my best friend. I shared most of my secrets with you…. But why are you being like this Byunghun…" cried Il Hwa. Tears just won't stop running down her face feeling so disappointed in him.

"I rejected you because I love Jaeho. I never thought of you more than a best friend… I thought you understood me…. Said Il Hwa.

"Ever since she's gone, I've never been happy. Whenever I see you, I feel mad. It was you who supposed to die but why her?!" shouted Byunghun. "Im sorry Il Hwa…" said Byunghun. Jaeho couldn't control his anger anymore and punched him in the face hardly. "You deserve to not be happy, and you're asking for forgiveness?" Said Jaeho. He wanted to punch him again but got stopped by Il Hwa.

"No. Jaeho. Stop." Said Il Hwa. Then, she wiped her tears and went near Byunghun.

"I forgive you." Said Il Hwa.

"All I want is for you to confess at the police and tell them what you did to me. Tell them everything." Said Il Hwa. "Promise me you would never do this kind of thing again." Said Il Hwa and Jaeho knows that she wanted him to say it for her.

"She forgives you." Said Jaeho and Byunghun looked up towards Jaeho.

"What? How do you know?" asked Byunghun. "I forgot… people said you've been imagining things." Said Byunghun. "I don't care if you call me crazy or what but she forgives you and want you to go to the police station and tell them everything about what had happened to her. Turn yourself in." Said Jaeho.

"If you want her to be rest in peace, you better do it." said Jaeho and took Il Hwa's arms and walked away leaving Byunghun alone at the rooftop. Once both of them left, Byunghun was shouting for her name. "Il Hwa-ah!" shouted Byunghun.

"I'm sorry…." Cried Byunghun as tears running down his face.

When night comes, Jaeho was calling Il Hwa for dinner, but it was pin drop silence. *where is she?* thought Jaeho and decided to go upstairs and looked for her in her room. Once he reached her room, right after he opened the door, he saw Il Hwa was sitting on a couch near her window staring at the moon in silence.

"I called you for dinner but you never came…." Said Jaeho as he took a seat next to her.

"I just don't feel like eating…" answered Il Hwa. Jaeho noticed that she seems sad after what had happened this evening and Jaeho knows that it was so hard for her to know the truth.

"Angel?" called Jaeho and opened his arms for her to hug. "Come here," said Jaeho. Without asking anything, Il Hwa straight away hugged him and be in his embrace.

"I'm so glad that we have finally know the truth…" said Jaeho softly and Il Hwa nodded. "I just couldn't believe my own best friend did that…" said Il Hwa.
