The boy's nightmare

Hattie rushed out of the room fear and panic setting in. Her mind was going in a million different directions. The safety of the boy and what could have happened to him was the most prominent, worry that clouded her mind.

Dinah followed closely behind, her steps in sync with the hag in front of her. Dinah and Hattie were too preoccupied in their own thoughts to notice that the young Erin was following closely behind them.

As Erin followed the two coven members she couldn't help but think of what boy they were referring to. She had never seen or heard them talk about a boy before Dinah came barging in on their conversation. For a brief moment her thoughts went to Matt. But, that was unlikely, right? He wouldn't remember her anymore, she had been wiped from everyone's minds and that would include Matt.

As Erin followed the couple through the estate she was surprised when they came upon another building on the property. Erin was also surprised that neither of the women looked back at her, they seemed to be lost in their own thoughts. This additional building she had never seen before and it was one that nobody had told her about. It almost felt as if it was a secret? Erin was positive that that this building did not exist in the real world, in the world separate from whatever alternative reality this place was.

Erin followed Hattie and Dinah through the doors and down the stairs. They clearly didn't think that Erin was following them as Dinah failed to hold the door open and instead let it close behind her. Erin quickly grabbed the door before it closed, afraid that it would lock behind them. Erin did not want to give them the opportunity to keep this secret from her. The secret boy...how long had he been here? Again her mind wandered to the boy, who was he? What was wrong with him? But soon she would figure it all out.

As Erin rounded the corner of the stairs she found herself in a well lit room. For some reason it reminded her of a surgical suite or something similar. Erin noticed Dinah, Elizabet, and Hattie hovered over someone laying on a bed, Hattie was assessing the person (whom Erin could only guess was the 'boy') like a physician assessing a patient. If Hattie was speaking it was nothing that Erin was able to catch.

As Erin further surveyed the room, she noticed another figured that was slumped in a chair in the corner of the room. She squinted her eyes to get a better look, but it wasn't the boy, it was Heather and she appeared to be unconscious. "What the hell happened here?" Erin voiced and it wasn't until all three women, Dinah, Elizabet, and Hattie turned and looked at her that she realized that she spoke out loud.

Erin's eyes grew wide as the three women stared at her. Dinah and Hattie looked at her as if they realized their mistake. Elizabet however wore a blank expression, she gave nothing away.

"Erin?" Hattie asked her voice an octave higher than usual. The woman looked like she wanted to say more, but nothing else came from her lips. Hattie took a step forward and held out her hand.

Erin subconsciously took a step back. If she thought her mind was racing on the way over to this secret lair, her mind was now in overdrive to the point of not functioning at all. Was she angry? No, she was confused....very confused. Again her eyes swept over the women and then to the unconscious Heather in the corner.

The three conscious women in front of her followed her gaze to the nightmare and then back to Erin.

Hattie took another step forward. This time however, Erin did not move. But with Hattie's movement and the slight shift of the other two women gave Erin the view of the boy that they had been speaking about.

Laying on the bed shaking wildly was Matt. Erin's Matthew. Erin quickly surveyed Matt. She noticed that his hands and legs were bound to the bed. They did this to him, why?

Erin quickly crossed the room brushing past the three women. Hattie reached out and touched Erin's shoulder only for the girl to shrug it off.

"How could you?!?" Erin shouted, the anger in her voice shocked herself. "What is wrong with him?" She turned and looked at Hattie. "Tell me now!"

Hattie bowed her head, but it was Elizabet that began to speak. "We discovered his whereabouts shortly after you had told us that he was 'your Matt' when we found him he was in a comatose state. When he was awake he was thrashing about. We tied his arms and legs to keep him safe." Elizabet glanced at Heather. "She tried to assess his situation. She collapsed and he began to scream."

Erin ran over and reached for him. The moment her fingers touched his forehead a calmness took over his body. He stopped thrashing about. His eyes shot open and he spoke one word.

"Emmeline."
