19 Chapter Eighteen (The dead walk the earth)

While Hailey was reciting what seemed to be something demonic, her eyes rolled to the back of her head. She slowly started rising into the air with the water that surrounded her as well. Hailey was being controlled, she still had no idea of what she was doing nor where she was. It was like Sarathna’s spirit was calling upon her. Jake stood there, his heart was beating so fast and so loud that it felt like his heart was ready to rip through his chest, but this did not stop him from approaching her.

“Haile!” he yelled.

He stood at the one end of the peer, trying to grab her attention by calling out to her but nothing seemed to work. Jake looked beside him and saw a pebble right next to his foot. He bent over and picked it up. He knew what he was about to do was probably the stupidest thing anyone could do but he felt that he had no choice. He could not leave Hailey behind, even though he thought that It was no longer her he knew that he had to at least try.
