As the sun began to rise across the shore of Normandy, the quite morning erupted in explosions and bomming like never hurd before.

The skyies were field with American and British fighters and bommers. And then it began...

German guns erupted all along the coast .The once morning ski that was field with Allied aircraft now became filled with dark black smoke.

Germany's guns were downing allied aircraft at an incredible rate. Nearly 30% of the aircraft were shot down before even reaching the coast line.

Off the coast the hidding U boats commenced operations.

Huge explosions could be hurd miles inland as American and British ships exploded and sinking.

One of the ships that was hit by both air and navy units of the German Reich was carrying Allied Commander Dwight Eisenhower.

His death was a shock to the Allied High Command that was reseaving updates in London every 45 minutes.

As landing craft were landing on the shores , German troops were easy ably to shoot and kill the pinned men as soon as stepping out of landing craft.

Within an hour of the start of the invasion, Allied Command in London realized it was a hopeless loss.

At 7:45am word reached the invasion force to pull out. For the men that were already on the shores of Normandy, they had no choice but to surrender to Germany.

This was the biggest defeat for the Allies during the war. As for the United States it was the biggest loss ever.

As reports later that day began to reach Washington DC and the people of the United States. An outcry began.

The American people began to demand that the United States pull out of this European war.
