"Damn, I'm beat"

"That fast? , Tsuki, you seriously need to go to the gym more often. You lose to a psyhicist that never really did any proper exercise and probably stuck with book all day."

This is Tsuki, my best friend since I ever stepped on this college. She is best known for her gaming stream and she is one of the best fps player in Japan. She even won on a couple of gaming tournaments. She took a break for a couple of week after her grades keep on failing. Well, I already adviced her to study for a while on the night but she doesn't bother to do that and now, she struggles to understand any subject.

"No fair, I have more speed on that thing rather than you!"

"It's because I started slowly rather than you, who starts at a fast pace first."

"Ah whatever! Right now I want some drinks and go to sleep."

"Hey, today you have to study. It's in your schedule, remember?"

"Well you always say that studying should be always in your perfect condition in order to focus more. So, i'm going to sleep to focus more. We'll do it other day okay?"

"(This girl, if she keeps failing again, I might have to take away the wifi from her for a while.)"

Couple of hours later...

"Ah, it's finally done. The 500-words essay from Hina-sensei. Why am I the only one with 500-words? Others have 300-words only. Extra marks maybe?"

I look back at the clock. That essay only takes me around 20 minutes to do and I still have around 5 minutes before my bedtime.

"It doesnt hurt to check some stuff before going to sleep."

I proceeded to check some stuffs on social media which is picture of cats. Lots of cats. Then I also check Tsuki stream profile to see if she keeps her promise to not stream.

"(She is active here, but she doesn't stream so I guess she kept her a promise.)"

A lot of the comments says that wants her to return but, she reply that her grade are failing and hence cannot stream. A lot of them respect and support her but some despise and even disrespect her choices.

I'm already quite tired and wanted to sleep like her when suddenly, a loud sound comes from beside me. It was our window which was broken by something. I checked if Tsuki hears it but of course, she stays asleep even after that. Hell, I don't even think she's gonna wake up even if there is an earthquake or a tsunami. I get up from my table to check what was the thing that broke our window.

"What is this? Some sort of device?"

The device has a sphere shape. It has a line with a circle pattern everywhere on it. There is also a logo on it that depicts a "circle with a knife in the middle" on it. I put the device on my table and started inspecting it.

"This is a pretty bizzare device. Perhaps I should somehow dismantle it."

Suddenly, I felt like I somehow press a button on one of the circle and it turns the device on.

"Synchronizing? Synchronize what?"

"Wait wait! Mind swap!?"

Before I could even scream for my life. I found myself completly blinded by a very bright white flash to my eyes. I can't see neither hear anything. It's as if I had been hit by a stun grenade.

After a few seconds of pain, I opened my eyes to see myself in a completely new room.

"(What is this place? What am I doing here? The room feels so cold.)"

I took a quick glance across the room to see that I am in some sort of wooden house. I removed the blanket that I was in to only see that I have a child's hand.

"(Wait, whose hand is this? This is definitely not mine. Did somehow that device swap my mind with someone else?)"

A door suddenly creaks open and I was greeted by a black-hair woman.

"Miyu, are you feeling well? Are you hungry?"

"No no, i'm okay. (So the mind that I was swapped by was someone named Miyu. I presumed that this is her mother.)"

"Well Miyu, if you ever feeling hungry, you can use the bell okay?"

I saw on the right side of me that there is some sort of contraption. It has a wooden tube tied with a rope that ends with a bell. From the look of it, When I blow into it, the rope will react to it and make the bell sounds.

In this moment, I finally understand that I am no longer Yui Masato but I am a kid named Miyu. I can no longer meet up with my mother who is thrilled for me to become a certified pyhsicist. I can no longer help my useless and caring friend, Tsuki.

After that, the woman leaves from my room. Rather than thinking on how the hell I got here, I started to look for any evidence on anything that can connect me and the weird sphere device with this girl. I started checking the box in the corner of the room.

"(Dolls, dolls and more dolls. This kid must love playing with doll so much.)"

After around 5 minutes of worthless searching, I can safely conclude that most of the stuff in here have nothing that can connect me with the mind swap.

"Nothing. Just some leftover woods and some dolls. Perhaps I can find more information outside but, the woman says to me if i'm feeling well. Ah it's probably a fever or something. Let's just hope it's nothing serious."

I left the room and find a halway full of doors. I took a turn and was greeted by an half-opened door. feeling curious, I decided to check inside.

"Huh a storage room... lots of woods here. Perhaps I can take some and create some of my gadget here."

I leave the storage room and walk straight. On there, I found myself on the kitchen. There were furnaces and some sort of dough on a table. There was also some sort of contraption that can be used on crafting baskets.

"Miyu!? No way...!"

I quckly turned around and find that Miyu's mother was standing behind me.

"I must....I must tell your sister about this!"

"Wha..."

Before I can even finish my sentence, she quickly ran away and go to a room. I can hear what she was saying very loudly to someone on there.

"Hina-chan! Your sister...!"

"What is it mother?! Is she fell down from her bed?!"

After that, I hear a set of footsteps coming my way. I probably messed up about the sickness not being serious.

"What mothe...Miyu?! Miyu!"

Now, it's someone who has a pretty brown-hair colour girl. She quickly hugs me tightly after that. I swear that I can hear my bone make a sound while on it.

"Miyu! How can you finally walk! This is a miracle!'

"This is probably the work of the witch's medicines!"

"(Witch? Medicine? Those words aren't exactly a best match on a sentence.)"

"We will wait for father to arrive this night okay, Miyu?"

I just nodded and agreed to Miyu's mother.

Later that night...

"Everyone! I'm home!... Where is everyone? Why is it dark in here? Hello?"

Mother and sister ignited the candles and the house suddenly lights up brightly.

"SURPRISE!!!"

Mother and sister both shouted at what i assumed, the father of Miyu.

"Woah what is this? I don't think it's my birthday today."

Sister then revealed me to him.

"Wha...Miyu? Is that you? How?"

The look of his face has a pretty mixed emotions with sad, happy and confuse. He then hug me tightly after that. The power of his hugs can probably make a bear cry. What is it with this family with their strong grip.

After then, we then eat the dinner that was served by mother. It was a bowl of oats and a loaf of bread. There were also some water but it tasted weird and probably unfiltered.

"(What the... this water is unfiltered. I should purify it when I got the chance.)"

It was then I realize all of the family members not eating their meal but looked at me as if I am gonna save the world or something.

"Um why are you all looking at me like that. It's kinda scary.

"No no Miyu, it's just me, your sister and father were suprised to see you standing on your feet once again."

It was then I realized that Miyu probably have something serious in her that doesn't allow her body to move her body at all. I probably should asked them about the sickness

"Mother, what kind of sickness that I have?"

"You don't remember?

"Mother, it's probably the effect of the medicine. Miyu?"

"Eh yes?"

"You don't remember all of your memories or just the sickness?"

"(Damn, I should just keep my mouth shut. I can't say that I don't remember them or else they might get suspicious.) Of course I remember all of you!"

Famous last words.

"If so, what is my name?"

"(Shit. What name I could've given in this time. There are likes millions of name out there. Should I just pick one? But whose name? Tsuki? Nah too advanced. Hina-sensei? Hina? Ah screw it.) I will never forget the name of my sister! It's....Hina right?"

"Thank god you remember me! I thought you forget everything!"

That was probably the most luckiest and most cliche moments in my life.

"After this, i'm gonna tell you everything about your sickness."

"Alright but before that, father, can you make something for me?"

"Create what?"

"I'll let you know later okay?"

After we finished dinner, Hina came to my room and explained everything about Miyu's sickness. After that, she then leave the room for me to sleep.

"So the sickness that Miyu have is called "The Screamer". They say that the name came from an urban legend. Some also say that it resembles our body feeling pain and wants to scream. But let's be honest, someone probably doesn't have a clue on how to name this sickness and just lazily names it."

I closed my eyes in hope that I can answered all of my unanswered questions in the following days. What is the device that crashed my window on my dorm? Why my mind swapped with a kid? Why does this kid have a dangerous sickness? And why did the sickness gone after I swapped with her? Perhaps I will learn more tomorrow.
