Chapter 6

The afternoon went by quickly. Kaitlyn was getting quite bored just sitting beside her father while listening to their conversations. She really wanted to go home but at the same time didn't know what she'll do once she arrives at home.

Their conversation lasted for hours, finally it was time to go home. She didn't even have the chance to see her so called step-sister's face to face. Doesn't matter though, it's not like she even wants to meet them.

"We will be going now, take care," father said with a stern voice.

"You too, my lord. Take care of Lady Catherine too," Agatha personally escorted them out of the house and waved bye at them.

Once they we're inside the carriage, both of them we're again silent. It seems that this father and daughter duo likes the silent atmosphere a lot.

The sunset was going down as they traveled on the road. Kaitlyn was again, staring outside the window while her father was reading some documents.

"What do you think about Lady Agatha as your mother, Catherine?" Her father first broke the silent air between them.

"She's okay, I guess. I'm not really sure yet," Kaitlyn said, still looking out the window.

The silence again engulfed the whole carriage. The father and daughter quietly mind their own business.

It was already night time when they both arrived at the MacQuin's mansion.

"Go to bed now, it's already very late," her father said while taking off his coat and handed it to a maid.

"Okay father, have a good rest too. Don't over work," Kaitlyn said as she quickly walked towards her room.

Her father looked at the retreating figure of a girl. Taking a deep sigh, he looked at the maid and said, "Take this to my office and brew me a cup of fresh tea," he ordered.

"Yes sir," the maid bowed and walked towards the kitchen.

Melrich first went upstairs and opened the master's bedroom where he sleeps all by himself. He threw his tie on the large bed and unbuttoned his shirt revealing a muscular body. For such an old age, he maintained his body quite well. *(OwO)

He sat beside his bed and quietly stayed there for a moment. He looked towards his side table where a picture quietly sat on top of it. He walked towards it, and gently picked up the picture frame.

"Emilia...," he muttered under his breath. His finger tips gently touching the picture frames pane, a woman with angelic face that matches her blonde hair and the sweetest smile he has ever seen.

"I miss you," he said before kissing the picture and putting it back.

He quickly took a shower, wore a white robe, and went out to do some paper work at his office.

Meanwhile on Kaitlyns room where she quietly laid down on her bed and stared at the ceiling, thinking about tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the day where they will move in. It is also the day where the game's will be finally starting. She was too hyped up about it that she forgot about the events that happened today and forced herself to sleep so that when the next day comes, she can have a full time wrecking them on the face.

'Just wait, I'll give you the most heart warming welcome in this world!'
