When she heard him, all the words Xhemin wanted to say got stuck in the middle of her throat. Her world fell apart that moment, a world she sure purposely hid that only she knew as standing. For a few months, she hoped that somehow that world will be rebuilt, that their love will be rebuilt but hearing divorce come out of Darryl's lips, she knew it was so impossible to fix it again. They were long gone. It was foolish of her to think somehow they had redemption when the truth was that there was none and the tragedy of Puente De Amor was their breaking point.

Even Darryl himself felt miserable the moment he let the words out.
