43 Surprise surprise

Lily just stood there while looking at the sky. The four of them looked at her for a bit then Herjar said, "She's born to be an Assassin". Minos didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He asked, "And what? Can you feel it in your gut or something? Get real".

Herjar nodded his head seriously. "Oii are you for real!? That's bullshit and you know it!" Minos said. Herjar shook his head and said, "I would like to think that way myself but, my master said the same thing when he trained me and said that he had a feeling that told him I was born to be an Assassin and I'm getting the same feeling as he did".

Saito thought to himself, 'A cute catgirl turning into a bloody Assassin huh? Not something you would see daily'. Saito got up and said, "Well as long as she could defend herself when we are not around means it's good right?".

They know what he was talking about and even worried about it sometimes. They can't always watch her back when fighting and if something happened to her while they are not around means it will be on their head, no kidding.

The three of them also got up and all four walked to Lily who was basking in the sunlight. "You did great Lily! Maybe a little more and you might even beat Herjar I think" Minos said.

Lily didn't react a bit and kept her eyes closed as her head looked up. Minos was about to reach her but Saito stopped him. Minos looked at Saito and his eyes were very serious and Herjar on the left already took out his daggers while Vik was ready for anything.

The four of them slowly backed up from Lily. Saito felt an anonymous feeling when they were nearing her before and Nirashi told him that is not Lily! So he stopped Minos and Herjar noticed Saito's movements and felt a murderous aura from her so he also got his guard up while Vik just copied their actions.

Soon dark clouds covered the sky and it started raining out of nowhere. The rain was not heavy but the dark atmosphere gave them a feeling something bad was going to happen.

"Who.....are you?" Saito asked. She slowly opened her eyes and looked towards them. Saito and the rest were shocked when they saw her eyes. Her pupils were red as rose when she tilt her head to the side and looked at them. Rain droplets slid through her face as she looked at them.

Blood dipped from her daggers as she stood there. Saito had long driven his blade the moment he saw her eyes. They took their stance and stood their formation while carefully looking at her.

"Hey Saito, this doesn't fell good at all! That's not Lily and I'm sure for 100%!" Herjar said. "Think I don't know that? Even I'm not sure what to do!" Saito said.

They were standing in their formation but Lily didn't attack them but she smiled satisfied and said, "Thank you....look after this child...please". Her body then was engulfed in golden light for a second or two then it dispersed just like that and Lily fell on the ground as she started sleeping just like that.

"What the fuck happened just now?" Minos asked. Saito and Herjar were trying to asses the situation while Vik already gave up on thinking about it. Just now, that was not Lily and they are 100% sure about it! But if it's not Lily then who the heck was that!? That's the question they had in mind right now.

They walked closer to Lily and heard her mumbling something in sleep. They walked closer and heard her mumble, "Mom....my". She was missing her mother which is why her eyes probably had tears dripping down while she's sleeping.

Herjar walked closer and picked her up and gave her a piggyback ride as he said, "Let's go, we need to reach that fort tomorrow and get over with this work". Herjar changed a bit compared to before. He was cold and almost stayed silent and let others handle everything except the dark things. Even with Lily, he only kept a master and disciple relation and was always cold towards her. But now, looking at him give her piggyback ride, he changed a bit.

The three of them followed Herjar and headed towards the fort. Going through the forest while taking care of the monster on the way is not a big deal. Herjar carried Lily and Minos walked along him while Saito and Vik took care of the monsters that came to attack them.

For night they camped on a clearing in the forest. The camp fire burned, four of sat around the fire while Lily was still sleeping near them. "What are we going to do now?" Minos asked. Saito asked him, "What do you mean what? We are going to complete the request and head back, isn't that what we are supposed to do?".

Minos said, "You know what I'm asking about! Don't ignore the question!". Saito didn't say anything and just looked at Herjar. Herjar pointed himself and Saito nodded his head. Herjar just sighed and said, "What we agreed on will not change, Lily is one of us now and we will look after her here after! Do you have any more questions?" he looked at Minos.

Minos shook his head and said, "No, I just wanted to confirm it and it's confirmed". Lily then woke up, rubbing her eyes. She looked at everyone with a dazed look then asked, "What happened?".

Saito patted her head and said with a smile, "Don't worry Lily, just go back to sleep and we will wake you up in the morning then we can go complete our job, after that we can go back, okay?". Lily nodded her head and then went back to sleep and this time, she slept on Saito's lap.

Saito was so shocked by that he didn't know what to do at all! A Loli cat girl was sleeping on his lap..... IT IS THE DREAM OF EVERY MEN OUT THERE! (*BAM* *BAM* *BAM* INTERPOL OPEN UP!)

A lot of thoughts ran through his mind and 20% of those thoughts were lewd....let's leave that aside for now and focus on what was happening.

Saito looked at the rest and they just smiled weirdly. Saito gave up and just patted her head. A smile took appeared on her sleeping face and that smile gave smile to others.

Morning, sun began to rise and Saito woke up and saw Lily's face first thing in the morning and the first thought that came across his mind was, 'I won't be added to any wanted list.....right?'.

Herjar was on look out and he didn't even look a bit sleepy. This guy is a night timer and a real deal in that. Herjar was actually out hunting last night and came back using his skill "Shadow steps".

Everyone woke up and got ready. Today they are about to go hunt goblins.

The gang then headed straight towards the fort without stopping anywhere and they finally arrived. They looked at the fort which was half way up on the mountain. "You guys ready for this?" Saito asked as he looked at the fort.

Everyone just smiled and didn't say anything. Saito nodded and out on his helmet then said, "Here we go then!". Everyone unsheathed their weapons and got ready for the attack.

"Saito, can you feel them?" Herjar asked while looking serious. Saito nodded his head. He felt the presence of some people surrounding them but they just kept looking at them and not attacked yet. Nonetheless, both of them kept their guard up for ambushers.

They walked on the mountain path leading towards the fort all the while looking around. It took them five minutes to reach the fort and surprisingly, the gate was opened like someone was waiting for them inside.

The carefully walked inside even though they knew it was a trap. The fort was actually quite big that it could accommodate at least 3000 men.

They stopped when they reached the assembly ground and stood back to back while looking around. "What do you think?" Minos asked. "We are most definitely surrounded" Vik said.

*clang* *clang* *clang* *clang* *clang* *clang*

Sound of someone clad in full armor walking towards them echoed. They turned towards the source of the sound and it came from the center building.

They were shocked to core when they saw the figure come out of the main building. A goblin, clad in full Iron armor(for reference, watch Overlord season 3 episode 11) with a battle Axe on it's hand.

Nobody expected a Goblin to be able to get something like that and walk in front of them like they were nothing, it sure had guts. *cling*. The Goblin hit the floor with it's Axe once.

A lot of clanging sound came from the surrounding and they were totally surprised that so many were there. More and more Goblins clad in the same armor came out and totally surrounded them.

"Oii Oii! This is clearly not two to three hundred! This is clearly more! And how the heck did they get that armor and weapons! This is insane!" Minos said. Goblins with light armor and leather hood appeared on the walls with bow and arrows.

Goblins with shields, swords, spears and axes all came out and surrounded them and something unexpected happened. The Goblin that came out first knelt down on the ground with one hand on chest and the rest of the goblins followed the suite.

Then they all said in unison, "Long Live Your Highness!".
