37 Night of Hunt

While everyone were sleeping sound, Saito felt like his instincts running while like someone is watching him closely without being seen. When he was still in "S"* he developed this ability to sense his surroundings all thanks to the drill Sargent.

Now that instinct kicked back in he was sure that someone is watching him. As long as they were eyeing him, even if it was a sniper from 800 meters always he can spot them.

This person.....the one watching him emitted no killing intent but it was disturbing. He got up from the bed and looked at the window with a cold gaze. Surprisingly, there was no one there but he could still feel someone looking at him right in the eye.

This stalker is hiding very cleverly or he would have found him by now. Saito got up and looked around but could find no one. He looked straight at the roof of opposite building. The roof was empty but he could swear that someone is there and watching him.

Then suddenly, the place became empty for real now. His instincts stopped kicking. He then calmed down and went to bed. Minos asked sleepily, "What's wrong? Any problem?".

Saito shook his head and said while looked out through the window, "No, it's that I felt like someone was watching me till now". Minos became sober after hearing that. He got up and asked, "Where? Did you see them?".

Saito shook his head again, "No, I couldn't see them but I felt like there was someone on the opposite roof and spying us or particularly, me" he said. Minos was thinking why would someone want to spy on them and then he said, "Could the scene we caused earlier be the reason? It could be one of his friends or someone else trying to mug us". Saito said, "Yea it should that, this city doesn't welcome us so it's better if we get the supplies the first thing in the morning and get out of here but get some sleep now". Minos nodded in agreement. Saito looked outside the window one last time before going to sleep.

As the two of them went back to sleep, a shadow jumped down to an alley way from the roof of a building three streets away from where Saito and the rest are staying. The shadow was actually a man in black Assassin costume.

"How did he find me? Even though I used intermediate stealth skill he still found me, this guy is something! I gotta report back!" he said in a coarse voice. Just as he was about to move, a cold sensation was felt on his neck.

He stopped and didn't even dare to breath. Herjar emerged from the shadow while keeping the dagger on his neck. "I'll just ask four questions once and if you don't answer, you know what will happen right?" Herjar said in a cold voice. The Assassin was sh*t cold hearing his voice but didn't say anything back.

Herjar then asked, "Who sent you? Why did you tail them? How many are there?". The Assassin said, "I was sent by the Assassins group called "Serpents" and some big shot asked us to kill him and his companion! And there's six of us on this mission! Since I have fallen back, there must be five more!".

Herjar said, "Good, now tell me who asked to kill them?". The Assassin said, "I don't know! Only the tops know that! They paid high price for these guys so we took it, now let me go! I answered all four questions!".

Herjar nodded and slit his neck without a slight hesitation. The Assassin's body fell on the ground with a *thud*. Herjar looked at the starry night sky and said lightly, "Serpents huh? Those guys dared to come after my friends and live through the night? Like hell that's gonna happen". He closed his eyes and said, "You guys can come out, I know you are there".

Vik jumped down from the roof and Lily jumped down behind him. Lily had an uncomfortable look on her face while Vik had a serious one. "What now?" Vik asked.

Herjar turned around and said, "I'll go Assassinate the Assassins that are after Saito and Minos while you go find their hideout and Lily will go to the Inn room where they are staying and stay with them". Vik nodded and agreed while Lily refuted, "Why am I the only one being left out? Brother Herjar thought me so many things and I want to use them and show that even I'm also capable! Let me come with you, please" she looked at him with pleading eyes.

Herjar let out a *sigh* and said, "Look here Lily, this is not going to be simple like monster hunting, this is the adults job now and we are not hunting monsters but humans, so we don't want you to get hurt while we are busy fighting! You can come with us when you grow up, okay?". Lily reluctantly agreed with his condition.

Herjar and Vik smiled and nodded their head. Vik jumped on the roof again while Herjar did the same and went in the direction where Saito and Minos were staying followed by Lily. On the other hand, Vik started his search for the "Serpents" base.

Herjar and Lily arrived near the place where the two of them are staying. Herjar looked and Lily and nodded then disappeared into the dark. Lily jumped into the room quietly and walked over to Saito who was sleeping.

She was enjoying the look on his face while sleeping. Suddenly Saito opened his eyes and drew out his blade and pointed it at Lily's right eye pupil. When he realized it was her, he withdrew his blade.

Lily slumped on the floor, that was scary! She couldn't move her limbs at all, it was like they are dead. Saito crouched down and said, "I'm very sorry for scarring you Lily" his tone was very soft.

She shook her head and said, "No, it was not your fault, I was the one who gave you a jump so I'm sorry, Brother Saito". Saito smiled and Minos said, "You can pamper her later and get back to what you were supposed to ask". Saito looked at him and laughed, "Hahaha, come on bro! Don't ruin it". Minos gave him a weird look after hearing that.

Saito then looked at Lily and asked, "What are you doing here? Where is Herjar and Vik? Are they with you?". Lily said, "I came with them and then Brother Herjar said something about "Serpents" and going to go hunt them and he sent brother Vik to search for their hideout while he was going to kill the ones surrounding you two". Minos and Saito got serious and Minos walked to the window. Lily stopped him and said, "Brother Minos, you don't need to worry at all, Brother Herjar said that he will take care of everyone out there and you don't need to come".

Minos still hesitated a bit but Saito said, "Minos, I think she's right, we should trust them". Minos then calmed down and nodded his head with a smile.

Meanwhile on the outside, Herjar already killed three of the five Assassins. He asks where is there hideout before killing them every time.

The last two remaining Assassins got together and stood on the roof. "Damn it! Who is this monster!? We were five of the best Assassins and now only us two remaining!" One of the Assassins said. "I don't know f*ck! This guy just came out of nowhere and started killing us before we can even see him!" the other one said.

"This guy must be an experienced Assassin or there is no way he can hide under our intermediate "Find"! And his stealth is so strong that he's like the air!" The previous Assassin said. The second one was about to say something but before he could do, he felt something cold on his neck and his eyes widened.

Herjar was standing before him and he sliced the Assassin's neck. The Assassin then fell on the roof. Herjar's gaze then locked on the final remaining Assassin. He was so scared that he couldn't feel his legs nor his hands.

Herjar asked in a cold tone, "Where is your hideout? If you tell me then I might think about sparing you". The assassin saw a glimmer of hope and said, "The Market district! They are in the Market district! I told you just as you asked me to! Now let me go!" he begged Herjar.

Herjar said, "I am a man of my word and I will let you go". He then didn't hesitate and stabbed the abdomen of the Assassin. He didn't stop and pulled his dagger out and then cut his throat. The last Assassin fell down.
