41 Felix

Felix. A kid born for Duke Damien of Raizen Dukedom. His mother was a maid with a beautiful appearance who fell in love with the Duke and became one of his three wives.

Felix's mother came down with an illness that killed her or at least that was the story. Felix didn't know the truth about his mother's death.

Soon after that, his elder brother who was next in line for the throne died in war with another Duke which left Felix as the only legitimate heir to the throne as his elder sister is a girl.

Well not only the ministers of the Duke was after the throne but also his brother. He wanted to make his son the ruler and gain power through it. Damien was not aware of this but his brother thought hi son the art of scheming which led to him targeting Felix.

If Felix were to die, then he would be the next ruler according to the law. He hired Assassins with the help from his father and the ministers who were against Felix getting the throne.

His plan would have been a success but there was a flaw he over looked. Felix's elder sister, Felicia. She excels in the art of spears that no one can stand against her for more than ten seconds, twenty at tops.

Since the eldest son died in war and Felix ascending the throne being settled, she decided to train herself till her limits to support her younger brother. Even if she couldn't become the ruler, she became the best warrior in their land.

She was a good big sister that loved her little brother and looked after him whenever their father was not around. When the Assassins came after Felix, she and her own trained squad stood guard and ran away with Felix.

Those plotting foxes got together and surrounded their castle. The castle guards fought hard but the enemy force outnumbered them four to one. And thus, Duke Damien was killed and his brother took over the throne.

Felicia and her men took Felix and ran away from the Dukedom. Felix and his sister got separated in a raid by bandits on the way and ended up dying. And thus the Shadow Lord found a fresh body lying around and put Saito's soul in it and thus giving him life. The end.

Saito slowly opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was Lily's face. "He's awake!" Lily said excitedly. Saito tried to sit up but he was feeling exhausted.

"Don't get up and get some rest, you must be still tired right" Herjar said. Saito smiled and said, "I'm not that weak you know". Minos asked, "What happened to you earlier? You just started screaming and passed out, what happened?".

Saito sat up and let out a *sigh* and said, "Might be shocking to you guys but, it seems I'm the legit heir of Raizen Dukedom". The four were silent. Herjar was the first one to break the silence, "Tell me something new" his face was expressionless.

"I have a big sister?" Saito said with a complicated look. Vik said, "Tell us what happened and what's happening". Saito then elaborated everything that happened to Felix, except the part where he died.

Herjar as always stood in a corner and heard his story calmly while Minos and Vik's face changed expressions. Saito somehow made up a story on how he forgot his memories and how he got to become a Samurai and the gig is, they bought his story. They trusted him blindly, just like that.

Herjar asked, "What do you want to do now? Take back what's yours and get revenge?". Saito shook his head, "And do what? Ruling is a pain and in more suited for hanging around with you guys".

Herjar smiled when he heard that. He thought he might want to avenge his family and take back his place but he made a mature decision by pushing it to the side. Herjar knows that even though they won't be fighting them today doesn't mean they won't fight tomorrow. They will eventually cross paths and that time, they will get back what was originally his.

When born in an environment filled with jealousy, you don't need to look for trouble as it will look for you. To be honest, what Saito wanted to do right now is find clue on where Iori is and what that Shadow Lord is planning to do with him.

There's a saying that goes like "Never make a pact with the devil, it is equal to selling your soul for meager befits". Saito looked at the window and said, "You guys should get going soon, it's mid night and we got to resupply in the morning too, we'll meet you at the house".

Herjar walked to the window followed by Vik and Lily. Before leaving, Herjar said, "Remember, we are brothers, so don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it and try not to shoulder everything yourself" and he then jumped out the window and vanished.

Vik smiled, "Just like he said, don't forget to ask us" then he jumped out. Lily also said, "I'll try my best to help you!" and then she jumped out. Saito smiled after they left. Minos sat beside him and said as he looked at the ceiling, "You sure you don't want to reclaim the throne?".

Saito shook his head and said, "As I said, ruling is a pain and while the other reason is because no matter what, humans will never change". Minos smiled and said, "Well, that's for sure I guess". It doesn't matter if he reclaimed the throne or not, as long as there are schemers among them, he can never rule in peace. Even if there is none, the other rulers won't let him rise. When a others are naked and you are wearing dress, the others won't let you peacefully and drag you down with them. Human nature won't change, all we can do is adapt than trying to change.

Saito said, "Let's get some sleep" and started to sleep. Minos also went to his bed and slept.
