244 Missing Persons

The next morning, Torin was startled by the continuous ring of his intercom, and he smiled after seeing it was Lyra and his mother-in-law.

"Wow, they're already missing me this early," he hummed. It was indeed still early in the morning, and he just got up from bed not too long ago.

"Good morning, mom," Torin greeted energetically, but Sheila walked inside directly without responding, so he looked at Lyra with questioning eyes.

Lyra answered him with a sigh, followed by a cutthroat gesture. Torin quickly understood. He immediately turned around to pass by Sheila. When he was already in front of her, he stopped to face her and bowed his head as he said, "I'm sorry, mother. I'm sorry that we keep it a secret for a while. But please, I want you to know that I'm serious about Lyra. I really love your daughter with all my heart. I've liked her for a long time already."
