CHAPTER 03

- Where is the General

The plains of Jingyi holds a massive land but was mostly isolated and remote, the villages who manage to make a living here was all swept out.

The dark sky above the Mountain Han disappeared and the starry sky was back. The war officially ended.

"Your Majesty the east part of the field is cleared out. Still no signs of the First General."

A camp was built in the plains of Jingyi. Curing the armies who can no longer travel back, and others were meditating to gain their lost strength. But set asiding it, the main purpose of their stay was to search.

All was in grief, they didn't accepted the First General's death and still thoroughly searched the areas for days.

And by at the main tent in the camp. A man with a marvelous armor sealed with the Golden Dragon curve, His Majesty Yijun settled in. After a great loss at the North border, the Emperor didn't just sit back and immediately joined the war. They annihilated great amount of numbers of the enemy at the north.

They were searching thoroughly for the core until they heard the news that the First General found the core and instantly mobilized the armies to attack Mountain Han.

Hearing it, Yijun immediately traveled West.

But he was flabbergasted with the news.

"Search the black river, the peak of the core, the experimented forest and everything! Search every corners! Make sure you can't come back until there are some clues! I need the First General whereabouts now!" Yijun yelled.

"Yes!" the soldiers bowed and went back again with their perplex expression. Every time they bring negative results, the Emperor is in rage. It is every time but every time was like their first.

"Your Majesty. I might dare but the First General is maybe---"

The Second General sealed off his lips when the Emperor glared at him, a glare that exerts a very murderous aura.

"Tell your troops to deploy talismans to form an array on the entire plains. Find the First General as soon as possible." The Emperor declared.

The Second General concealed his purging emotions and nodded,

"Yes Your Majesty."

But by ten-some li away from the battle ground. Unlike with the villages situated in the plains of Jingyi, the small Village of Lan was located near the river and a hill.

This day was another usual day for them, the market is still noisy as it had been, the folks are doing their daily tasks and the doctor was still brewing his herbs.

Located a bit far off from the main street. A big but simple manor was situated at the foot of the green hill.

A lady was somewhat sleeping in one of the room there. She wore a white robe, but not at it's purest white because the color was somewhat tainted caused by the multiple wash it had been.

The lady was surrounded by bandages and some scratches but over all, she was still beautiful. Her long silky hair was neatly resting at her side and her figure that was immensely hidden within her strong armors was now shown!

After the warm rays of the sun reflected her face, her eyes slowly opened. Those fierce looks faded, only calmness remained on her sea of eyes.

She stared at the unfamiliar ceiling above, frowning, she got up. She still felt a bit of pain but it was insignificant of what pain she had experienced fighting the masked man.

But she abruptly turned when a girl entered carrying tray of foods. Her looks can be estimated just for about 14 or 15. She seated beside Chao Lei and quietly placed the tray. Then slowly turned to face the calm beauty.

"Lady Miss. Are you feeling okay now?" the girl asked with her worrying look.

Chao Lei calmly stared at the woman in front of her as she reminisced what happened before. She knew she had thrown her sword at the Dark Lord before he commits the explosion that was specifically just for her.

But what confuses her now, how she is still alive and kicking? And this place? She can't feel any cultivators qi around here.

"Lady Miss... You've been sleeping for nearly two weeks. Luckily big brother Qiang managed to detoxify the deadly poison killing your organs and your wounds was positively reacting with the herbs and ointments made by my big brother." she said as her eyes sparkled with glow.

She was utterly surprised. The poison, she obviously knew what poison she's talking about. It is the poison that killed a thousands of people made by the Black spirits, even though there are some experimented medicine that stops it from spreading but no one ever knew on how to completely detoxify the poison.

Her big brother must be a genius.

"I slept for about two weeks?" Chao Lei's tone was very manly. It opposes her currently beautiful appearance.

She clumsily cleared her throat then replied, "Yes Young miss. My big brother Qiang was strolling at the some corner around the west forest when he suddenly saw you lying on the ground. Bloody and miserable. Big brother Qiang didn't hesitated and immediately bought you here and quickly operated you."

She then felt a very deep gratitude for saving her life. She never believed in lucks actually but luck itself was tailing her.

"What's your name?" Chao Lei asked

The girl smiled excitingly and lowered her head. "This little girl is named He Jian. A youth learning embroidery and silk making and my big brother was named Qiang Ping, a master of medicine in the entire village!"

Chao Lei was somewhat taken aback of He Jian's loud muttering, but she quite clearly heard it all and was confused of how she drags her big brother at every statement she makes.

"Ok He Jian." she casually spoke. "...how many days do you think I can completely regain my energy?"

"Eh?"

Chao Lei repeated again "How many days do you think I can be myself again?"

He Jian thought for a moment then analyzed "Base on my big brother Qiang's medication, you'll be completely fine after the day tomorrow!"

Chao Lei curved a smile of how innocent this young girl here.

"But what would you do after?"

Before she can reply,

"Please don't run away! The engagement has already been announced! The groom cannot be wedded without his bride!" He Jian suddenly went near to her.

"Please don't run away! Or else my big brother Qiang cannot marry for eternity!"
