Bed Time

On our way upstairs, we heard more laughing. It wasn't the same laugh from earlier. It sounded as if their were a group of people laughing. We all looked at each other and knew what we were going to do. We all grabbed pillows and blankets, then we made a pallet on the floor. We all heard noises in our parents room. But no one was in there. We all looked at each other with confusion. We all past it off as the wind again. So we laid down and went to sleep even though it was tough, we still managed to go to sleep. As I fluttered my eyes open, I seen a shadow by the doorway. As a rolled over, and I saw it. It had red eyes, black skin, black hair, and rotten teeth. As I rolled over, it slide towards me really fast like a nascar driving through the finish line on the track. It screeched with joy. As I covered my ears, it got closer and closer and closer to my face. It whispered, "Do not fear me. I'm lonely. I shall help you. If you help me. I can protect you from them." I looked into its eyes, all I saw was sadness and I could tell it was lost. So I asked if it would protect my brother and sister too. He said he would because they matter to me more than anything in the world.
