Chapter 3

Logan opened his eyes. He couldn't see anything becuase of the darkness. He sat up slowly and breathed in a deep breath. He crawled over to the fire and started stirring the ashes around. He soon found some glowing red chunks of wood. He pulled the torch out of his inventory and put it close to glowing red chunks. He blew on the ashes and the chunks, and soon the torch lit up with flames. The firelight wasn't bright enough to see the whole room. He could only see a few feet around himself. He decided not to wake the old man, but just keep moving. He needed food and water soon. He also didn't want to take the old mans food.

"Maybe this is what the old man means when he said: You don't look tough enough to survive here." Logan thought as he moved to the tunnel opposite he came in at. He moved slowly as the flame on the torch flickered. He went into the tunnel and moved slowly forward. He didn't know what was safer, to turn around and go back outside the cave, or keep moving deeper into the cave. He soon decided to just keep going inside the cave. He walked for 10 minutes and he hadn't seen anything so far. The air was getting cooler and thicker. He rounded a bend in the tunnel and saw a huge room. The room seemed to have been carved out of the rock by tools. Which meant people had been here at some time.

Their was candles in all four corners of the room. The room itself was around 30 feet in diameter. Their was also 4 statues in all four corners of the room, with one massive one in the center. The four statues in the corners were all bowing to the one in the middle of the room. The statue in the center of the room was sitting on a giant throne. All of the statues were carved from stone, but they seemed very realistic. Logan studied all the statues but he couldn't find anything important. He had never heard of anything like this before so he didn't know what they signified. He walked through the room but just kept moving.

He was moving along when the tunnel started moving upward. He walked upwards for a few minutes before he felt a gust of air blow past him. The torch in his hand flickered and almost went out but stabilized a few seconds later.

"This gust of wind means their is another entrance up ahead. It looks like this tunnel just goes through the mountain without any major importance. Unless I missed something."

Logan wasn't interested in the statues and the tunnel right now. He needed to find some equipment and supplies before he could do much.

He soon arrived at the entrance, the light from the entrance was extremly bright becuase he was in the dark, so it made him have to close his eyes as he walked out the entrance. He opened his eyes to see a massive valley that was full of trees and bushes. He walked into the valley and looked around. There were birds chirping and flying through the sky. He couldn't see any signs of humans, but that could be a good thing.

He moved towards a river and started drinking. When he had taken in enough water he started looking for somthing to eat. He walked for a ittle while when he heard a "crack" sound. He crouched and moved slowly forwards. He opened the bushes to see a completely white deer. The deer was grazing, when its head jerked up and looked around. Logan ducked fully into the bushes he was hiding in. He slowly drew his dagger and peeked back out. The deer was about 50 feet away. Logan crept slowly forward till he was 30 feet away. The deer couldn't see anything so it kept grazing. Logan moved closer and closer until he was only 10 feet away from the back of the deer. He couldn't move closer in case the deer noticed him. He realized that the deer was not as alert as he expected. He could get up to 10 feet close to it without getting noticed. He was wondering how he would take the deer down with only a single knife, a broken one at that. He decided to just try using the skill he received a little while back. Maybe he could get the critical strike if he attacked unoticed.

Logan took one step forward with his eye on the deer, when his foot stepped down there was a "crack" noise as his foot broke a twig. He jumped out and ran towards the deer before it could react and used [Basic Slash]. A giant -10 showed on top of the deer.

Logan hadn't looked at the skill of basic slash yet so he didn't know the amount of damage the skill did.

As the dagger slashed the deers side it jumped sideways before Logan could use basic slash again. Logan expected the deer to run away, but instead it turned and faced him. Logans heart skipped a beat as the deer charged at him. He was not expecting it so he just turned and ran towards the trees.

"I can't fight it head on or I will die, maybe I can bring it into the trees and try to surprise it again."

Logan bolted into the trees and started weaving through them. He was running with his full power so his stamina was also running out. He also couldn't see the deers stats so he didn't know what what level the deer was, or how much hp it had. He ran for a few minutes when he started gulping in large mouthfuls of air. It was obvious his stamina was reaching its limits. He was trying to stay calm and form a plan as he was running.

The deer was slowly catching up to him, so he had to figure something out and soon.
