Chapter 11

Seemingly endless rays of sunlight, filtered through the trees. A group of people were moving slowly along a barely noticeable path. Giant plants of all kinds were also growing along the path. The air was slightly humid, and it was stiflingly hot. The group of people consisted of 5 people, 2 girls and 3 boys. They all looked to be around 15 to 16 years of age.

"Are we there yet?" one of girls named Heather asked in a broodish voice.

"Be patient, I thick the entrance to the dungeon is up ahead a little further." the leader of the group said.

He was the oldest boy there, and also the strongest, being at level 5. His name was Steve. The other people in the group had impatient looks on their faces as they followed Steve down the winding trail. He grunted in disapproval at their looks, and tried to reassure them.

"Don't worry, we will definitely get rich from this dungeon. The person I got the information from is definitely trust worthy."

"You better not be making it up again, or we will all vote you out of leader position." another one of the boys said threateningly.

Obviously, they were looking for a dungeon that one of the boys had heard about. Their was supposed to be lots of treasures in it, one's that could even help raise your level faster. This group was apart of a gang that was called 'Ironfoxes'. The gang's name was well known throughout the area. Everyone was scared of them, because they were ruthless, and they liked to steal treasures and equipment from people.

The reason they could is also because the leader of the gang is at level 20. Steve's group was the lowest ranked group in the gang. Steve always wanted to move up the ranks, but he hit a bottleneck when he tried to enter level 5. When he finally did so he got some news about a dungeon full of treasures, so he decided to get them so he could rise up the ranks.

Steve didn't really care about his teammates, but he had to use them to enter the dungeon, and as soon as they got the treasure, then he would simply kill them so he could have all the treasure to himself. But little did he know every one of them had the same idea in mind.

The group soon arrived at clearing that had a giant rock in the center of it. The rock was covered in thick [Ancestor Vine]. Steve walked over to flat side of the rock and pulled the layers off ancestor vine open, revealing a long stairway that slowly led down into a deep dark tunnel.

Meanwhile, in an unknown room in the dungeon, a man was standing in the center of the room, with a blank stare.

Logan was looking through the system store trying to find something to break out of this despicable room. The columns that were towering majestically in the center of the room were slowly losing their energy. Which also meant that the room would soon be dark. Logan suscepted that the reason for the columns energy draining was because of him taking all the energy from the statue. It was just a speculation, so he didn't know for sure, or if they were even connected.

Logan also figured out what the options bar was for. He could use it by giving the bar a question, and the system would give him a certain amount of options he could pick, in the lower columns. He had already asked the system how to get out of the room, but he shocked speechless by some of the options it gave him. None of the options seemed comfortable to do so Logan decided to use the last given option.

[Buy a weapon capable of breaking the lock.]

He was looking through the numerous amount of daggers in the store. When he had searched for close to a half hour, he finally found one that would work. He didn't have any gaming points, which were what he had to use to buy items from the store, so he had to get a loan from the system. It put him in a lot of debt to the system, but it was his only suitable option. When he purchased the dagger, the notification just said...

[Purchase placed in inventory]

Logan opened the inventory and equipped the dagger. A right flash of golden light appeared in his hand, as a 6 inch dagger appeared in his hand. He was not expecting that, so the light did surprise him, but he recovered quickly. The daggers stats were rather normal, but he knew it could do the job.

[Sharpened Ironbark]

Level 0

Sharpness +10

Durability: 10/10

Requirements: none

Logan walked over to the door and poked the daggers tip into the lock. He slashed with all the strength he could muster, when the dagger sliced cleanly through the lock contraption, severing it from the door. Logan was surprised by how easily it went through the metal lock, and he was even more so, when the dagger turned in to dust and slowly disappeared from his hand.

("It looks like the durability goes completely down when it cuts metal. But oh well at least I can finally go out of this cursed place.")

Logan shoved the door, and he felt excited when it swung completely open, revealing the long dark hallway. He moved through the door slowly and carefully. He studied his surroundings carefully, so as not to get surprised by something or someone. He walked up the hallway and moved up a long stairway made from perfectly cut stones. When he got to the top of the stairs he was expecting to be able to see the entrance, but instead he saw another long dark seemingly endless hallway.

He felt uncomfortable knowing that he wasn't armed, but he didn't want to buy anything from the system store again, because he didn't know if it had a punishment for not paying your debt. If he wanted to buy something he would have to earn more gaming points first, because right now he was -5 points behind.

If I am leaving any details out let me know. And in this fantasy world, people have to cultivate levels, whereas the mc just needs exp.
