13 The One who Make Name

The thing that Grid told me, I want to know more about it. After all even until know I don't gain any ability at all. Maybe with Grid information I can fulfill some of the requirement to get an ability.

"So Grid, how can you get that ability ?" (Rudeus)

"No, I don't get this ability Rudeus. I'm born with it. My father don't have this ability but my Grandfather did." (Grid)

"That's awesome. So it's a family bloodline huh." (Rudeus)

"Yes" (Grid)

"Well, do you know how to get it that kind of ability Grid ? I mean your ancestor is possible to get it right or he is the same like you born with it ?" (Rudeus)

"That... I don't know Rudeus. My grandfather never told me anything. He just told me that this ability is only born within a few member of family." (Grid)

"Ah.. I see." seems like even Grid don't know anything about the requirement.

"So Rudeus, what are you gonna do ? Are you gonna accept solo mission again ?" (Grid)

"Yeah. I will... Wait what ? You say solo mission ? How can you know that I take solo mission Grid ? Don't tell me you have another ability, Grid." I said it with a weird and surprise expression.

"No, of course not. I don't have that kind of ability" Grid answer it with a chuckle

"So, how can you know that I take solo mission then." (Rudeus)

"Because you are already lvl 3 Warrior." (Grid)

"Huh...? I don't get it." (Rudeus)

"Well a simple way to say this is many of student who rank up faster always going for solo mission. Not only you Rudeus. Me, Darvan, Lance and many others do it solo Mission you know. And you see many of us growing faster than other student. Be it in term of experience or combat." Grid said it with a smile

"Really ? I thought only a few student who go for solo path. I never thought there is so many of them huh. But it's weird Grid, if there is many going for solo why I never see them or heard a news" (Rudeus)

"Haha.. of course you never heard any of news, but I believe you heard many of their name. Seems like you still don't know much about it huh. You should know right many of new student is level 1 Warrior when they come to Academy and many of the senior is just level 3 Warrior. Do you know why ?" (Grid)

"Ah.. nope, no idea." (Rudeus)

"It's simple because all of the a strong one always going alone. Many of a new student is comes from commoner family so that's mean even though they train their battle skill it will be hard for them to rank up without resource. And because of it when they enter the Academy they will try to get resource as much as they can. But the problem is, there no an easy way to get it. So they will make party to gain the resource they want." Grid explain to me

"I know everything you said Grid, but I don't understand your point. What's wrong with party ?" I ask with a confused expression

"Geez.. don't you get it. That is the problem. When you get in party that means everything is divide, especially merit point. You should right how much merit point you receive when you complete a mission. You just finish a mission right, how much merit you receive Rudeus ? If I'm not wrong it's only 200 merit point." then Grid continue to say "Think about it, if you are in five man party, how many merit you receive then ? It's only 40 merit point. Do you think it's enough to increase your strength ? Because of that, they must collect little by little to get the resource they want." said Grid

"Ah.. I see. I understand now. So what do you mean about second year then ?" (Rudeus)

"Well, because they always in a party when they are a new student. A few of them will try to do solo even after they become second year. Well I can say they do not dare to do it. You should know how dangerous the mission can be and they will feel a shame if they try to take a lower rank mission. You can say they want to keep their pride as a second year, so the only they can do is to keep a party." Grid explain more

"Hmm.. I see. I get what you mean now. It keep continue huh. Even after they become second year they can only collect the merit bit by bit huh." (Rudeus)

"Yeah" (Grid)

"Hmm.. wait a minute, you say different in experience and combat ? What's that mean ? (Rudeus)

"Well you see, do you think you can rank up if you just training and meditation ?"

"Well.. That... ?" I make a confuse expression but in my mind I thought "Yes. I can"

"Hmm.. you see, to become strong you need experience be it combat or knowledge. That's why there's a mission. And for that, a student who always go for solo mission have more experience and their strength increase faster." (Grid)

"I see. I understand now" (Rudeus)

"Even though is kinda rare to see someone who can rank up so fast like you Rudeus. Maybe because you practice that Body Battle Skill. There is saying that people who train body battle skill can grow faster in early stage but become harder in late stage" (Grid)

"I think you are right" well what Grid say is not wrong, it become harder to level up this body battle skill.

"Hmm.. I just kinda hard to believe that there will be many student who pick the same path as I did. Seems like I worry for nothing. I thought they will call me a weird one or crazy." (Rudeus)

"Well it can not be wrong though. Many of them is still think that people who take a solo path is crazy." (Grid)

"Really ?" (Rudeus)

"Yeah, many of them become famous though. That's why many student call the one who took a solo path with a name" (Grid)

"What name ?" ask me curiously

"The one who Make Name" Grid make me feels chill in my body.
