18 A Fight that We can Win

"Leader, there is nothing there. The monster is not arrive yet, why we must listen to that nonsense." said a member of the other team
"Calm down. I know that three people. All of them is a solo." said the leader
"Hmpph.. so what if they are a solo leader. I don't think they are more powerful than us"
"It's fine. At least we will be ready when the monster come. After all it's almost time too, so it's better than sorry" said the leader again
"Chh.. I believe the monster still hold by the army. After all teh army is...."
Before that member finished what he's saying, everyone heard a sound.
"Roar!! Roar !!"
Many of the beast run crazily at us. The guards who stood at the wall too begin shooting their arrow at the monster in the sky.
"What the..? How can he..?" said the member who mocked Grid
"Calm down and get ready. Don't break our position" said the leader. The other leader and us are do the same too. And the fight begin.
When I see the monster, I see many of the monster consisted of wolves, four arms bear, a horned dear, and a rabbit. There is also a few monster that I never seen before like a hound, a lizard, and a scorpion like monster. In the sky an eagle, a sparrow, and vulture like monster assault the guards on top of the City Wall.
The first monster who pounce at me is wolf monster. I immediately hit it with my battle skill. Because my arts battle skill is already evolve it immediately make that wolf severely injured with just one punch.
"Sound Explosion Fist.. Bam.."
After that, many of the others monster keep pounce at me but I hold them up. The others two team beside us is do the same, but their vanguard use shield unlike me.
Darvan who just a little bit further behind me keep slashing his enemy, one slash one enemy I can say. And Grid who stand behind us shooting his arrow accurately, I wonder that his eyes have different kind of ability than the one he told me. Even the monster who still not arrive yet get hit by his arrow.
"Rudeus, be careful of that hound and scorpion. The former have a corrosive bite and the latter have poison in his tail. Don't let them hot you" Grid shout from my back.
Because my hearing sense is increase when I level up and have body battle skill, I heard what Grid says clearly
"Sh*t. I don't know they have something like that. I cant let them touch my body then" I say it in my mind and my fist keep launch an attack to the monster.
"Bam.. Boom.. Bam.." There is so many sound of battle arts that the Warrior keep using.
All of us keep fighting for like fifteen to twenty minutes before the monster already reduce to and eager amount. Even the guards already clear the sky and help us.
Grid then come to both of us then said "Alright, seems like the first wave is clear. We can rest a few minutes before the second waves arrive."
"What ??" I'm surprise, but seems like Darvan and others teams already know it and they begin to rest and consume their supply
"What's wrong Rudeus ?" (Darvan)
"No it's just.. how many monster waves are there ? Are we gonna keep fighting even until the monster tide over ?" I look at Grid
"I don't know about that. But from the information I get about monsters tide, many of monster tide have around of five to seven waves and it keep getting stronger." Grid respond
"Five to seven waves ? Why there are so many of them ? What happen happen if we can not handle the waves then ?" (Rudeus)
"It will be ok Rudeus. When the waves reach beyond fifth the army in the front will move completely" (Grid)
"What is that mean ?" (Rudeus)
"You can say the army do not use their full strength now because the monster is just a low level one. They safe their energy for the big fight. That's why we are here." (Grid)
"You mean they purposely let the monster pass and only take the big one which we can not handle ?" (Rudeus)
"Yes, that's right" (Grid)
"I believe we will only keep doing this until the fourth waves coming. We can not handle more than that. After all most of us still level 2 and Level 3 Warrior"(Grid)
"Well that's good then. That's mean we can win. I hope there is nothing bad happen in the middle of this" I said with a hopeful voice
After a few moment of break, the second waves is coming. This time the monster have a greater number than the first. We ready ourselves and the fight begin.
I keep hitting the monster who pounce at me. I even let the monster hit and bite my body so I can keep them in place. The only monster that make me dodge their attack is the hound and scorpion.
Some of the lizard monster who come at me want to swallow me a whole, but I keep punch their face. The weird thing is their body is so hard, almost like me. It feels like I keep hitting at rock. Even after I hit it with battle skill they just unfazed and resume their assault.
"Phew.. phew.. phew.." an arrow flying and hit three monster on their eyes.
When I look at it I'm really amazed. How can Grid keep hitting their vital like nothing even from a far. There are so many monster here but he seems never miss.
"There is really something more with his eyes ability" I thought
We fight for more than half an hours before the monster waves is done. Many of the monster corpse lying in ground. Grid said we don't need to collect monster core or anything. Someone else will do that and they will give us our share according to the place we guard. Seems like there kind like recording device in this world too huh.
We consume our supply and replenish our energy too. It's pleased me because I gain many merit point from the mission in these few days, so I'm not low in supply like potion.
We all rest more than 10 minutes before the third monster wave come.
