Bottleneck

Sensing the incoming ruthless and deadly attacks of the wolf king as well its subordinates, my eyes suddenly snapped open. Due to the fact of me having an exceptional affinity or acquired the Earth element magical attribute, I was able to sense even the slightest tremor on the ground. Also, I was in a deep semi-consciousness state, which raised my senses into its ultimate limit because of that, I was able to hear the rustle soft sounds of the grass as the pack of wolves was approaching from far away.

"Frightful Presence," I whispered to myself.

*swoosh*

Suddenly, a bizarre and invisible wave of energy shot out from my body transforming into a huge semi-circle which enveloped the surrounding wolves. This powerful energy seemed like it contained the power to decide the life and death of any living things. The powerful wave of invisible energy presses upon the pack of wolves like a heavy mountain preventing them to move a single step forward. It's like time has stopped for the wolves but not for me. The soft rustle sounds of the grass and the swaying of the tree's leaves caused by the wind blowing had instantaneously stopped as if this energy has also affected or constrained them. As for the pack of wolves, they all had a look of horror, fear, and disbelief. The frightful presence was a very mysterious skill. When it permeated into the wolves' body and encircled them, it was like they were forced to carry a huge mountain peak while taking away their ability to move or their mobility for a brief moment. Some of the weak ones even spat out blood and fell down on the ground. Not only that, my dragon's aura was automatically released along with the frightful presence skill which made the pack of wolves cower in terror after they sensed the pressure of a dragon as well.

" Game on."

While the pack of wolves was being pressed down by the frightful presence's skill as well as being frightened out of their wits, I was still seated in the meditative stance with my eyes wide open while looking at them as if they were a group of sheeps or pigs that brought themselves voluntarily into a slaughterhouse. When I activated the game on skill and turned the area into my gaming zone, I could finally see the number of HP floating on top of their heads. The wolf king had the number 40 000 hovering on top of its head while the rest had 15 000 and less.

" Lightning sword ."

I slowly got up and stood up from my meditative position. Out of nowhere, the Sword Harmony appeared within my right hand, Lightning flashed throughout the whole sword, emitting the sizzling sound of an electric current. The surge of lightning gradually circled around the Sword until it took its form or engulfed the whole sword with its electric serpentine sparks. Not only that, The length of the sword stretched to two meters long forming a long lightning blade. The lightning sword aura was so strong that the air around it seemed to be coagulated and the sword itself harbored an endless air of destruction and death. A high-level warrior is able to manipulate his battle qi and place onto his weapon of choice, the Lightning sword follows the same principle as well. Due to the fact that my sword and my magic staff are combined together into one as the magic crystal which served as a catalyst to amplify the magic spell is embedded into the handle of the sword, I was able to cast a lightning magic spell which enshrouded the sword and multiply its power. The same can be done for a fire magic spell, dark energy as well the others. However, I am still unable to cast three spells onto the sword simultaneously such as fire, lightning, and Darkness elemental attribute forming a brand new energy. They always repulsed one another or become unstable. Nonetheless, I won't give up that easily. I'll try to add most of my extra stat into my intelligence in order to understand better which will facilitate my understanding of the theory Behind the combination of many types of elements or magic spells. When I do, I will truly become a powerful mage-warrior.

I used the shadow wind step footwork technique and ran through the group of wolves while beheading them one by one before the frightful presence skill worn out. With every swing of my sword, three or four wolves fell down to the ground lifelessly. The lightning sword in my hand continued to tear apart every single wolf that it touched. the strong ones that survived the lightning sword attack and got injured instead felt as though the energy within their body was out of control. It was due to the game on effect, the injured wolf was having their energy suck out their body and flustering towards or drifted over my body. Unlike before, I don't have to absorb the magical beast core of a beast in order to level up. as I get stronger, the game on skill become stronger and wider as well, as long as I injured a beast which in turns dropped its Hp, the Hp dropped will be incorporated into my body without having the need to touch the beast or absorb its core. In a breath time, the pure and vigorous energy of various wolves were absorbed by me. Unlike a regular warrior or mage, I don't have to refine the energy absorbing from the wolves even though they contained a ton of impurities as the Gamer's Godship have automatically done that. One by one, I slaughtered every single wolf with the Lightning sword in my hand. Wherever the lightning in my hand fall, a head would be separated from the body of a wolf. Also, Whenever blood violently shed, the wolves who were still breathing had their eyes festering with a deep hatred towards me. Nonetheless, they couldn't hide the endless fear that was engulfing their hearts as I was slaughtering them while they couldn't even fight back or move a single muscle like a pig in a slaughterhouse.

The sky was profane black, the ground of the mountain peak was littered with wolves corpses and a river of blood was flowing throughout. A vile smell rose up from the ground giving the air a tangy taste. However, the lightning sword in my hand was stainless and void of any wolf's blood. After I slaughtered the whole pack of wolves, I heaved a long sigh of relief and released some fireballs which burned off their corpses except for the wolf king.

Violet's voices rang out within my consciousness as my body was surrounded by a visible white light. After spending some time asking questions about the Gamer's Godship, I realized that the gamer's Godship spirit wasn't just an artificial intelligence but much more than that. One of the reasons I came up with that conclusion was because after I named her Violet instead of calling her spirit or some sort, I can fell a slight happiness in her voice while she thanked me for the name. I can feel emotion through her voice which is not something a regular artificial intelligence can do unless she's too good at faking stuff.

" Only 8 seconds left before the soul of the wolf king moves on to the Soul Plane, would you like to absorb its soul."

" yes."

A small ball of white light that looks more like white flame went straight into my body.

After acquiring the soul of the wolf king,

That same night, I left the mountain peak as fast as possible in case the strong smell of blood attract the attention of one of those powerful high-level beasts ahead. The reason I didn't absorb the soul of all the wolves in order to drastically increased my spiritual power was that I can only absorb a soul per day which is why I chose the strongest one.

It's been a half a year since I broke through the 6th rank mid-stage mage/warrior which is the main the reason I was able to kill the wolf king as well as its subordinates effortlessly by activating the frightful presence skill. The frightful presence skill only works on a creature less powerful than me or has the same rank with me. The wolf king was a 6th rank mid-stage beast which made it easy for me to make him unable to move for a few seconds. As my power increased, it becomes harder and harder to level up as it required a huge amount of energy. For example, I only level up one level after killing that pack of wolves, and the reason I was able to level up that level was that I had killed a huge quantity of low-level beast as well mid-level magical beast before that. All that experiences stack up or Hp absorbed, adding up to new ones made it possible to level up just one level. Not only that, I have to share ten percent of my energy absorbed to each of my pets Sylvia as well as Scarlet, which made it much harder to level up. On the other hand, Sylvia and Scarlet don't have to share any of their energy with me. Whatever energy they absorbed is theirs plus the ten percent of the energy they got from me. It won't be long before they surpassed me.

Just like that 2 more years had gone by after my last battle against the wolf king and its subordinates. I came back to the same mountain peak long ago after discovering that the stench of the blood didn't attract any of the powerful high-level magical beasts but some low-level ones.

I spent most of the time training my magical spells, eat when I am hungry, sleep and repeat. I did the same thing every Single day for two years. Sometimes, I discreetly surveyed the mountain range ahead to see if I can find about what kind of high-level beast is ahead but all my efforts were in vain. Also, I was afraid to go deeper while still having the strength of a mid-level warrior. Aside from that, I had learned and created more than forty-five magical spells so far. I have acquired five elements in total after absorbing the soul of various magical beasts, Lightning element, Wind element, Earth element, darkness element, and fire element. I am more adept at using fire, lightning and Earth element. I am still struggling with Wind Element as well as darkness.

Late at night, I sat beneath a giant tree that was on top of the huge mountain peak which used to be the wolf king's territory. I sat there quietly with both of my legs crossed in a meditative stance. The night was so quiet, not even a sound of a magical beast can be heard, just the sound of the winds blowing and the swaying of leaves. After spending hours of meditation, the skies slowly began to brighten as the yellow shining sun started rising from the ground. I slowly opened my eyes and stared into the rising sun as it's rays of sunlight started to illuminate each crevice of the magical beast forest. It was a beautiful sight to behold. However, I seemed to be uninterested about this bright and mesmerizing rising sun. I haven't been able to break through the 7th rank warrior/mage, it's been 4 years since I've stuck into the 6th rank. The gamer's Godship seems like a bottomless pit, no matter how much energy that I absorbed, I am still unable to break through that last step.

" Big brother are you ok." Said Sylvia who was on top of the shoulder as usual. She seems to have noticed that I wasn't very happy with the look in my face.

" Sylvia, I think that I've encountered a bottleneck. No matter how much energy I absorbed, I still can't stride to the 7th rank mage." I said mentally to Sylvia. A bottleneck is the only reason I can come up with even though its sound ridiculous as it is almost impossible because I possessed the gamer's Godship which saves me that trouble.

" If I cant break through the 7th rank, it would very dangerous for us to continue our journey into the deepest part of the magical beast forest," I added.

I've always wanted to explore the magical forest which is why I wasn't in a hurry to return back where the humans are but now, it seemed like it won't be possible if my strength isn't enough. also, training within the magical beast forest is the fastest way to increase my strength.

The talkative Sylvia didn't immediately answer me back, she seemed to be lost in thought as if she was thinking very hard about something.

" Big brother, I have a way to help you and even make you much stronger than that." She said to me mentally with a resolute and solemn tone. It's the first time I saw her like that, she is usually calm and easy going. For some reason, she seemed very serious when she said those words as if she just took the biggest decision of her life.

" Oh yeah, how will you be able to that." I was kind of surprised when I heard those words coming from Sylvia.

" By absorbing some of my blood and essence as well as scarlets. It is very dangerous, but if you succeed you won't only possess the dragon's aura but you'll become a true dragon in a humanoid form." Said Sylvia within a solemn tone.

" What." I was shocked when I heard Sylvia's proposals. It's not like I've never thought about that, but they looked so small and I don't think they would have Enough blood and essence to spare which is why I've never brought that up with them. also, I was kind of happy, who wouldn't want to possess the great strength of a dragon or be like one.

Without saying anything, Sylvia flew from my shoulder and landed on the ground.

'Crack, crack, crack.'

I heard a bone cracking sound as Sylvia's body started to grow from its initial size.

'Buzzzz'

Suddenly, Sylvia's body erupted an incomparably violent strength. All of her body was sparkling with a silver light as it grew bigger and bigger. I took a step back while looking at Sylvia's change. I was shocked and bewildered witnessing this transformation unfolding in front of me. After just a few seconds, all I saw in front of me was a gigantic silver object standing in front of me. The temperature dropped drastically as soon as Sylvia transformed into this huge beast. All of her body was filled with silver scales which were cold as ice. It has golden eyes and its teeth looked as sharp as daggers and cold as icicles that they could rip through any metal. Two long silver horns sit on top of its head, just above of its forehead which gave the creature a fierce looking appearance. It has four legs containing five massive silver claws in each. Two giant silver wings above its shoulders and end at the middle of its back. Sharp tips grow from each ending of its wings like a massive spear. It has a long thick silver tail covered in the same scales as its body. It looked more like a metal statue or a beast turned into metal. Looking at the dragon's face up close, I couldn't help feeling a chill run down my spine. Its head was shaped like a horse, its nose like a hog. It was huge and gave off an air of nobility and aloofness.

"Sylvia is that you," I Said with a hint of anticipation in my voice.

" Yes, big brother that's my true form. Us Primordial divine dragon with a pure bloodline are able to regress or change our form to a less developed size voluntarily." Said Sylvia mentally.

" You mean, you were able to change your form all this time and you've never done that," I Said with a hint doubt in my voice.

" yes, big brother. Not only me, Scarlet as well. The reason we've never done that or told you about that is that is very dangerous for us and you." Said Sylvia with a guilty voice.

" What do you mean." I was taking back by Sylvia's words.

" It's because of our bloodline. I can't tell you more yet big brother but this world isn't as simple as it seems and we can't expose our status as Primordial divine beast carelessly or catastrophe might befall upon us." Said Sylvia with a hint of worry in her voice while transforming back to its initial small size.

" Let's go somewhere else because one of the powerful high-level beasts in the nearby mountain range sensed my presence. Call scarlet as well so we can leave this mountain peak as soon as possible." Said Sylvia hurriedly.

Without wasting any time, I conveyed a mental message to scarlet to our whereabouts and ran away from this place as fast as I could.
