Barristan has probably served more kings than any man alive, it is his greatest shame that he is still alive but the people he was supposed to protect are not, at least now he is fortunate enough to serve a true ruler in the form of queen Daenerys Targaryen
He and the queen talk a lot these days as he is the only who knows about her father, her brother and her homeland,he is happy that even as whitebeard he can answer some of the queen's questions
But both he and the queen are not sure about King Aegon Targaryen,he had talked quiet a lot with the queen about the possibility of Rhaegar and Lyanna and this Aegon being the queen's nephew, but every news that comes from the seven kingdoms is getting more and more unlikely
According to the news Queen Rhaella, Princess Elia and Princess Rhaenys are alive, there are three dragons in the seven kingdoms now, and most unlikely is that kingslayer still serves as a king's guard,if this Aegon Targaryen was truly is a Targaryen than why is that disgrace to the white cloak still alive
But the way things are happening this all might be true, ships from the royal fleet are here to serve his queen,king Aegon also sent an army of the best men from all of the seven kingdoms,and they way this Aurane Velaryon talks about the king Aegon in front of the queen, Barristan doesn't know what to think
Barristan doesn't dare hope but if all this is true he might see the reign of Rhaegar's son as he couldn't not see the Silver prince become the king,he might really be able to face queen Rhaella and pay for his failures and shame in this life
Today they have received news that King Aegon is coming to meet them here,as he is waiting with queen Daenerys he can't help but think how he would face Rhaegar's son
They were waiting for a while before the finally saw three riders coming towards them, while the other two covered their face with cloth to avoid the sun the man in front was dressed like he was taking a leisurely stroll through a garden, as the riders got close he finally saw the face of the man, and all he could think was Rhaegar, it was like he was back in red keep serving the silver prince

He was already shocked seeing Rhaegar's son then he saw his brother, the one he thought was dead all this time, he didn't know what to think anymore
But as he was stuck King Aegon came right in front of him "Ser you served my father to his dying breath and now you saved my aunt's life and are serving her I and House Targaryen will never forget this"
After a long time there was water in his eyes, he has never felt so honoured and and shame at the same time,"I am not worthy of your gratitude your grace,this old man has done nothing but fail you and your family your grace"

Then Barristan finally realized where he was, as he turned to his queen she was looking at him with doubt, it seems that the truth will finally be out
The queen turned to king Aegon "King Aegon Targaryen, the dragon king, I must say I have heard a lot about you your grace, I expected to come on your dragons but it seems that your tales are highly exaggerated, I am very disappointed nephew"
The king just chuckled at this "Aunt Daenerys as you never had proper teachings let me give you a advice, you never show your main weapon in front of your enemies, conquering cities is all well and good but one should never abandon the wisdom and knowledge of the books"
Then the whole situation changed, the queen's eyes started to glow and things literally started to get heated,he has seen this happen before as the queen gets angry the heat literally starts to flow out of her like her rage is showing itself to the world, everyone in the room started to sweat except the king and queen
"So am I your enemy then king Aegon" the queen asked, but suddenly the king's hair became silver and his eyes also started to glow purple, the heat in the tent was suddenly sucked out by something
"No your are my family and family is never the enemy no matter what, and our enemies are on the other side of those walls if I came on my dragons the slave masters would have been running away right now with whatever they can gather, don't worry when the battle starts my dragons would blast the doors open for your armies, now you know that my dragons are on your side, show me what will do with them, show me what kind of conqueror you are Queen Daenerys"
"Then watch carefully nephew you might learn a thing or two" the king just smiled clearly not realising how this interaction has affected everyone around them
Barristan has served many members of House Targaryen, even though people call them the house of dragons he knew they too were men, but standing besides this Queen and King he literally feels like a small man standing between two mighty dragons
