My name is David, I'm somewhat of a good guy. I'm the only kid at my high school that has no friends. You see, I'm not trying to be a loner, it's just no one wants to like me. I try to help out whenever I can, but no one thinks i'm competent. I have a lot of free time on my hands, since I have nothing but myself, so I play video games. I play solo cause I hate being on a team with looters. But I never dislike being by myself, as i'm always comfortable with it.

Today is October 30, my birthday. My mom and dad broke up before I was born, so I get a party from both of them, trying to out-do the other. I live with my mom and see my dad on the weekends. I usually walk to school, considering the cost of the bus. It is only about a 15 minute walk to and from the school.

School gets out at 4, so I leave at 4. Not a big fan of after-school activities. It's about 60 degrees fahrenheit at this time of day. When I got home there were no lights on, but I didn't really pay attention. I unlocked the door and opened it.

"SUPRISE!!"

"WHAT THE FUCK, HOLY SHIT, WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING"

I screamed this out to my family, and they were staring at me like I was some kind of dumbass. So I reworded what I had said.

"Haha thanks for the surprise everyone, you really scared me!"

'I'm getting beat later tonight'

I shut the door behind me and locked it. Almost everyone from my mom's side of the family was here. Notice how I said almost, my aunt and her boyfriend fucking hates me because one time I caught them hooking up in my bedroom. Like, if you wanna do it, do it somewhere I won't see or hear you.

It looked like everyone was having a good time, either conversing or eating. I don't like eating at parties, cause someone's bound to drug something. During parties, I like to sit on the couch with a soda and play a game on my phone. But when it's my party, I have to have conversations or else no one remembers who I am.

We usually played a tournament of chess at parties too, the winner gets $100. This was the only way I got food at lunch, since I buy it from the school. I'm the only one that can actually compete in chess. I'm pretty smart for my age, and I've been learning chess since I was 6. I know how to get someone in checkmate in 2 moves. My mom started this a couple years back so I could feel like part of the family, though i'm the only one who hates this thought.

"You're really good David! I wish I was smart"

'Fuck you Maddie, go suck on the football players'

My cousin, Maddie, is one of those people that pretend to be a godchild around family, but are really horrible. She's the "queen" of the popular kids. If someone does something she hates, they get beaten up by the football players. She has them wrapped around her finger saying, "I'll date you if you do what I say".

"You okay David?

'I now realize i've been staring at Maddie for a minute and a half. I gotta think of something fast'

"Yeah I wish you were smart too"

'We'll i'm fucked'

Everyone was staring back at me, probably wondering why I'm alive. Maddie is looking at me with disgust, wanting to end me right there. I smiled back at her, with hatred.

'Get fucked bitch'

"Okay everyone, I say we let David open his cards now! Won't that be fun?"

My mom intervened trying to help me out. Everyone nodded at her accepting that they should definitely get a move on before I say something dumb again.

Everyone got me cards with money in them. I got 6 cards in total from my family. I counted out the money right in front of them.

'How the hell did I only get $35 this year? Do they really hate me that much?'

"Now it's my turn for a present. Close your eyes David!"

I did as my mom said. I could hear a door opening then closing, then a rustling in front of me.

"Open them..... SUPRISE!!! It's that new game you wanted! I know how much it meant to you, so I bought it!"

My mom bought me a $105 game for my birthday. The game I wanted to play before it was released. I just realized that today is when it was supposed to release.

'Holy shit my mom actually loves me?'

"Thanks mom!"

'Now all I have to do is wait until everyone leaves the I can play it.'

My mom left to the kitchen to get my cake, I smirked and started talking again.

"You know what, I just realized that I've been super sick this past couple of days...(cough cough) Hopefully no one has been near my stuff!"

'God i'm such a bitch'

After that they all looked at each other. And then started to leave one by one. No one dared to look back or to say bye to me, it was the perfect plan.

"What happened to everyone?"

"Oh they were really jealous of how much you care about me"

'I sound retarded, but good'

"Oh well, we can just have cake without them. Here you go, blow out the candles and wish!"

I started at the flame as it was melting wax upon my cake. Candles are like people, we melt away of old age or we get taken out by someone else. I took in a deep breath and wished.

'I wish I could leave this world to a world of war. I wish that I could be in a game against people in life. I wish for the true death game!'

I blew out my candles and blacked out.
