1 Well, these are the Guardians of the Galaxy

"I am Groot" said Flora Colossus, as he finished watering himself.

"I know, I know, Groot. No need to disturb me. Your automatic waterer will soon be ready." Impatient, Matt replied.

Ever since Groot got into a fight with Rocket, he has been very close to Matt, who is one of only two crew members on The Benatar who can understand him.

"Don't worry about him, Matt! Once we get to Earth, Groot will have plenty of trees for conversation!" Peter Quill spoke up. He was lying on the couch and listening to some old Earth music on his cassette player.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Drax laughed out loud as usual. "Finally a good joke, Peter Quill."

Except for Groot and Gamora, all the Guardians seemed to have come straight from a forgotten warehouse of the famous Collector.

"Why are we going to Earth anyway?" Matt dared to ask. Although he was only fifteen, he thought he was old enough to know why the Guardians always chose unusual places to hide.

"You'll know when we get there." Gamora, from The Banatar's cockpit, answered over the loudspeaker.

'Same old answer' Matt thought as he walked over to Rocket's tool stand.

"Ahh, how much for the... Why the coons...?" Matt stopped his question halfway through, as he realized that Rocket gave him an angry look when he heard the word 'Raccoon...'.

"Raccoon is your mother, you greasy little brat! Don't go thinking you're the big man just because you learned a little quantum engineering and special no!" Rocket shouted angrily while standing on the stool he used to reach the bench.

"Rocket, can I borrow that paramentation diffuser? I want to test something on my armor." Matt asked as he made a poor face.

Although grouchy, Raccoon could not resist and handed the diffuser to the boy. "I won't lend you another tool until you steal someone's bionic eye from me!"

Peter Quill, who was watching the interaction from afar, shouted, "Hey, don't tell him to do something like that! He's just a kid."

"Back home, kids were taught to fight as early as five years old and by the time they were ten, they could behead someone. Matt is already fifteen, so it's okay." said Drax, as he ate small seeds.

"That's sad." Peter, Matt, and Rocket said.

Without procrastinating, Matt walked down to the ship's storage room. Between Groot's bizarre plant garden and the ship's engine, there was a small room where Rocket and Matt's junk was kept.

Ever since the Guardians of the Galaxy found Matt in Knowhere, the boy had started learning various advanced engineering subjects from Rocket, all to fix his only souvenir from Xandar: an armor.

With gold shoulder pads, knee pads, and helmet, the Old Model Nova Corps Armor might look like old junk to anyone, but to Matt, it was a priceless treasure.

"If I can fix this one day... I'm sure I'll look pretty cool wearing it." He thought as he poked around in his armor. Matt himself knew little about it and everything he knew he told the Guardians, who set out to help him.

The automatic door to the room opened. "Still digging through all that paraphernalia in there?" Rocket asked.

"Y-yes, I won't give up until I put it on." Matt fumbled a bit to answer because he was concentrating on his armor.

"That's okay, right. We can't sell all this Xandarian malleable alloy without drawing attention anyway."

"Without any sign of the Nova Corps?"

"Look, don't tell anyone I told you, but we're heading to Earth because we received a request for help from the Avengers." Matt's attention was taken that hour. Since Endgame, the Avengers had become quite famous throughout the galaxy. "They said that a Xandarian signal resonated on every communicator on the planet for a few seconds."

"But what if the Skrulls heard it too?"

"Skrulls on Earth? Nahh, that's impossible. That place is so muddy that even Skrulls wouldn't submit to that."

"Didn't you have a Kree who helped you defeat Thanos? Remember that where there are Kree, there are Skrulls.

"You mean the little blond hairy one?"

"Hairy, Rocket? You have posters of her in your room." Matt said as he clenched his eyes. Rocket had become a big fan of Captain Marvel since the ultimatum against Thanos.

"Oh boy...you should be there, she came from the sky and broke Thanos bomber, HAHAHAHA! He got an incurable expression that day."

"Get ready for the jolt, we can jump into the Milky Way now." Gamora alerted us over The Banatar's loudspeaker

The moment of the space jump was one of Matt's favorites because there were rare moments when he could see the vortex being created in front of the ship's visor.

"Earth, here we come!" The young boy saw Peter Quill shout as he ran to the cockpit, after all, he is the captain of the Guardians.

Not knowing what all the euphoria was about, Matt walked slowly to the cabin. He had heard many amazing stories about Earthlings and also knew that Earth was home to many great people, it was just that the comments that Rocket sometimes said made him think that Earth was as bad a place as Knowhere.

"Everyone in your seats!" Peter Quill shouted, but everyone was already seated and he was the only one standing.

"Sit down there, Captain." Gamora mocked him.

"Hehe, I am Groot."

"Just sit down, I don't want any brains on my ship's visor." Rocket spoke up.

"My ship." Quill said as he sat down.

Gamora, without waiting for Quill to give a command, said: "Preparing to jump... 3, 2 and 1!" Trooom! Vrumm!

For a brief moment, Matt saw thousands of colors and saw cracks in the space around the ship. When a vortex was created and The Banatar entered it, all the colors mixed and turned a calm, gentle purple.

Millions of particles collided with the snow, and everyone knew that if it wasn't a ship made for this, all that would be left of them would be cosmic dust.

It was in those moments that Matt dreamed of someday understanding so much about the galaxy that all those colors and shapes he saw in the vortex would make total sense to him.

Boom! "We stopped at a small planet called Mars, since it's pretty close to Earth here, we can go with the fuel we have." Peter Quill said, sounding like a genuine captain for the first time.

Looking through the viewfinder, Matt could see a completely orange planet, whose atmosphere looked like it had been destroyed long ago.

"That reminds me of Titan..." The boy said aloud.
