44 Union Announcement

'Tch tch tch...!' He felt the pain still in his back from the attack from the slime. The burn marks were repairing faster than usual, as his skin was reproduced in such a manner without scars.

Bai Li recollected his mind at what gains were made from the hunt, looking back at the big blob of

glutinous rock.

The notification from the beast being slain was still present in his mind as he recalled it back to his attention.

-========================================

You have slain a Magma Rock Lobber

Meat is not edible

Soul has incomplete Soul Form and has gained an essence instead

Magma Shard

-========================================

'It's still strange how my soul chip is able to read these letters with such clarity'

He was still amazed by how he was able to understand a language all people didn't understand completely without patterns. But there was more pressing issues at the moment.

'An essence?'

An essence? What on earth is an essence? What is a magma shard as well? He understood slaying monsters always didn't yield a soul armor or weapon, the essence seemed to be a different matter.

Bai Li did not understand a thing of what it meant but now wasn't the time currently. He would not be safe for long.

'If I stay any longer, beasts would show up the moment the threat is gone. I have to move quickly'

Though he wasn't able to gain the achievement he wanted, the body of glutinous jelly was embedded with strange rock minerals that were heat resistant in the Meteor Falls. If they were to be made of armor or brought in for processing, he would be able to gain quite an amount of credits or even better survival equipment in the desert. Most animals in these regions have usually had an affinity to fire and thus, being able to resist such high temperatures would be a necessity to those with a conscience. He filled out his bag with his new fortune and began heading back in the same direction, but it seemed it was already too late.

Meteor Fall was a valley formed by what people speculated as a meteor and was already below ground level. Bai Li could make out several creatures returning to their habitats and some were already heading back down to Meteor Falls.

A large creature made of rock made its way from the entrance he came from. The very appearance made him look in horror.

'Why did it have to be a magma guardian!?'

He ran in the opposite direction as fast as he could, the detection radius of the sentinel was insane and one of many of the hidden dangers presented in Meteor Falls.

Bai Li tried to recall the best he could from researching his destination.

Across the horizon ahead of all the floating blocks of rock in the lava was an even higher mountainous cliff and in between was a small passage. The only way through this location was up to the mountain as the small pass narrowed quite deeply and many small crevices numbered across the walls were filled with monsters, Bai Li wasn't so sure if he could go through them, at his level.

He took out the rope he received back from the Red Beak Vulture mission and used the primordial blade as a latch to throw overhead on the cliffside.

Bai Li could feel the temperature rising from his back and knew he needed to do this quick.

Using it as a latch, he threw the rope and successfully impaled it in the cliffside, about 150 meters above would be considered safe from the dangers of the Magma Guardian, but an even higher climb was needed to be saved from any dangers.

The Magma Guardian were believed to be part of the meteor that fell in the region and reacted to Soul Energy abundant in the area. They grow increasingly violent near people and would harm in ways of dealing with them. They also don't have a soul, so it was a difficult fight with no merits.

A rock was thrown from the large giant walking golem. Shot afar as it landed near the pathway from the cliffs, the rock splashed molten material everywhere before slowly sinking to the lava.

He used the remainder of the cowl to help improve his grip as he started the treacherous climb.

This was the moment he knew rock climbing was a hard feat and must learn it now to help him in near-death experiences.

Bai Li couldn't find much footing so most of the lifting was done by his equipment than himself. If he were to be put in a situation where he needs to climb as if his life depended on it, he would surely fail.

Luckily equipment was allowed so he started climbing at a steady pace, feet against the wall as it treaded upward. His dagger attempting to dig beneath the rocky walls.

Just about a 50-meter climb took much longer than usual to a seasoned climber.

'I have to pay my respects to those who take part in the sport when I get home..!'

Just above was a larger cliffside that allowed more breathing room, a small sanctuary thought by Bai Li as he climbed and lopped himself over the ledge.

He took two large swigs of breath before starting once more, he needed to travel further to not be in the reach of any flying creature's flying altitude.

Bai Li inwardly cursed as his stamina was being spent the moment a sliver of energy came back. But to no avail, he managed to do accomplish his feat.

The tender flesh of his hand became almost scarred from all the clawing for more leverage, his nails were in the same state.

All nooks and crannies of his body were already aching at this point as if his skeleton was scraping against his muscle from delayed responses.

'I hope I can get back in time..!'

He was able to stay where he was, almost 500 meters scaled from beneath the Meteor Valley and the next region.

This part of the cliff had a more of an incline that gave a singe of protection from the smoldering heat of the lava pit just beneath him. He was able to fit his body and a half if he were to lay down flat on his stomach, leaving the best room to recuperate and begin his climb.

Bai Li put down his tent, took out his flask of water and a couple of spider jerky he managed to make along the way to Meteor Falls.

The usually crunchy texture of a dried spider leg became much more mellow and chewier, the spices became way more pronounced and the saltiness made them the perfect preserved food on the go.

He took couples of nibbles paired with sips of water to ease much of the dried taste, nonetheless, the taste was to die for. If he wasn't told that this was a spider, he would ask if you were drinking cow piss!

Well, you get the message hopefully.

All that was left was to get some shut-eye.

Bai Li entered his tent, the material used was quite high-grade and made the warm surface much more bearable than it was.

His time was brief, the bustling sound of monsters echoed across the entire valley, as fights began from the local hierarchy of monsters.

He woke up to a large cry of a Scorch Imp, a powerful horned tiny beast to the Low-Tier warriors but are the bottom of the pyramid. Magma Guardians would regularly seek to kill these Scorch Imps due to conflicting demands.

Bai Li estimated about 4 hours of sleep was achieved, already quite refreshed and ready to climb more to start heading around the Meteor Falls.

He packed up his bag and dismantled the makeshift sanctuary with haste. But just as he removed one of the stakes holding his tent together, a strange vibration emanated from his wrist.

The red light blinked and lit up for a second before continuing its blinking. It was quick to notice as he looked down from his arm.

'A recall?' It took just about a minute before he knew what this meant as he jolted and sprung from his position and onto his feet.

The blinking was made in morse code as one of the easiest and universal way of communication in the Soul Realm, if not for the technological blockade of the Soul Realm, a quick call could be made in no time.

There was no recall without any large events, and these events usually meant the best things in life.

Well, 3 best things actually.
