5 She's Indeed What We're Looking For

The next day was quite a good day. The rain had stopped and the soft sounds of laughter and chatter can be heard as the children were playing outside. It was a normal day but not for Sera. This day would be extraordinary for her.

Sister Liz and Sera were sitting the office.

"Sera, we contacted your foster family yesterday and they're going to come for a visit today."

Sera looked at Sister Liz with anticipation.

"Ever since you were young I've tried to look for the best family for you but they never came. This time, however, a family came with requests that suits you very well." she said and paused for a while. "I'm not saying that this family is perfect but I am still hoping it is. I wouldn't give this chance up but I have this feeling I can't seem to get off my mind. So when you meet this family you make sure to tell me if something is weird or a little off for you. Do you understand?" Sister Liz instructed.

"Yes old sis." Sera was confused with her older sister's behavior but she knew Sister Liz was just worried so she didn't mind at all. Sister Liz smiled and patted her head.

"Good girl. Go and wear your best clothes today."

Sera went to her room and looked at her closet. She doesn't have much clothes. Sister Liz had always offered to buy her some but Sera didn't want to trouble her. All her clothes were conservative types from turtle necks to long sleeves to loose baggy clothing. She preferred these type of clothes since she didn't want to attract any unwanted attention. She was rummaging through the clothes when she noticed a box hidden under the hanged clothes in her closet. She took it out and saw a card.

"I know you wouldn't have nice clothes so Old Sis bought you one. P.S. this will definitely look good on you try it on. - Your beautiful Old Sis :)"

She smiled and opened the box to see a lacy,knee leveled, long sleeved, baby pink dress that suits her taste very well. It was conservative but it isn't shabby as well. This was the first time she had held such beautiful dress in her own arms. She was a girl after all. She wore the dress and looked at the mirror. She was happy. Today she got a new dress and soon she'll meet her new family.

At the gates of the orphanage a black Mercedes-Benz Maybach was at a stop as it waits for the guards to open the looming entrance that separates the orphanage from the city. The couple inside looked out through their window as they view the scene. The view of the orphanage from the gates was majestic. It was located at the top of the hill making it look very pleasing and relaxing especially when the sun sets. It gave out a relaxing vibe. The buildings of the orphanage were quite old but it gave more character to it. Soon the gates were opened and the car entered and parked near the lobby where the nuns and priests are waiting for them. As the couple stepped out from the vehicle, the people of the orphanage approached with a greeting.

"Good afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Stedore, I am Sister Leia. Let me lead you to the head's office."

The couple nodded and followed Sister Leia's lead, walking in silence until they reached the office.

tok. tok. tok.

Sister Leia knocked and pushed open the door for the couple to enter.

Inside, Sera and Sister Liz were looking at the door as it slowly opened and revealed two tall figures. One of them was a woman with a long black hair and a slender body. She carried a sense of elegance as she moves forward. The other was a man with clean cut dark-brown hair. He was wearing glasses and he carries with him a sense of authority. From the way both of them stand you would know they are not simple people.

The couple looked around the room and laid their eyes on a young and beautiful girl. She wore a pink dress that made her look shy and feminine. They smiled when they saw her. This made Sera's heart skip a beat. She didn't know why but she felt happy that this couple seem to like her.

"Mr. and Mrs. Stedore, please take a seat." Sister Liz said respectfully.

She might have doubts about these two but she didn't dare show it to them.

The Stedore's nodded and Mrs. Stedore answered,

"Thank you."

As soon as the couple were settled, Sister Liz started a conversation.

"Thank you for choosing our orphanage." Sister Liz said with a smile.

"We've heard a lot of about this orphanage and a lot of our friends had recommended it to us." Mrs. Stedore answered politely.

"If that's the case then I would like to Introduce Sera to you." Sister Liz said as she looked at the couple.

"She seems to be the only child we have here that suits your requests."

"She is indeed what we are looking for." the silent Mr. Stedore answered with a smile.
