8 Chapter 8: Surprise Letter

The following morning, I got up and dressed. Zonan was up and had breakfast ready. "Mornin Zonan." "Hey Lucia. How you feeling?" "Fine." "So what are we going to do today uncle?" I asked. "Well we are going to train a bit, then you can hang around the village." "OK sounds cool."

After we ate our breakfast and let our stomachs settle, we were headed to an open field. There were a few people waiting for us. "Hey uncle? Why so many people?" "You will find out soon. I will explain it to all of you."

"OK then."

Zonan started explaining the situation. "OK so about 6 of you are humans. Little ones and teenage ones and adults male and female. The reason I had you come here, is because I am training my nephew Lucia here. He just found out a week ago he was a Nue. He can transform fine, its the control he needs to work on. That is why I have humans here. Don't worry about the safety of everyone here. I was cautious. Me and my buddies here Archer and Hunter will be here just in case." The humans all had a worried face but nodded. "Ok Lucia come here please." "Hello everyone my name is Lucia. I thank you all for coming to help." I bowed. "Ok Lucia. I'm going to have my men turn then that would be your cue ok?" "Yes uncle Zonan." I watched the others turn then I turned. "OK Lucia. Stay calm ok?" "I'll try uncle." "OK Why don't we have the two girls come up." A little girl and her mom slowly came up to me. I backed away at first, then I was really holding in my urge to attack. "MMM! I don't know how much longer I can hold it uncle." "You'll be ok Lucia. OK good. Before we do any more, lets let him rest." Instead of changing back, I ran to the forest. "Guys go after him. Make she he is ok." "Yes sir."

I was running faster and faster trying to calm down from wanting to attack. I was in an attacking mood. I started attacking the tree's and knocking some of them down. Then I heard some people calling my name. "Lucia! Lucia! Calm down kid!" It was Archer and Hunter. I recognized their forms. I started feeling weird and transformed back to human. "Argh. I don't feel so good." I said. Archer and Hunter finally got to me. "Hey kid! You ok?!" Said Archer. "I-I don't know. Argh. I feel like I am in a little pain. I don't know if I can even stand right now." I said. "Hang on. Lets check you out." said Hunter. Hunter touched my forehead arms and legs. "Kid. We need to get you help. You pushed yourself to hard." "Ha. That is so like me." "Ok kid. We are going to take you back to Zonan and tell him training is done for the day." said Archer. "Yeah. That would be best." I said barely staying conscious.

We finally got back to uncle and he looked at me. "Hey Lucia. You ok? You look like crap." " Haha. I will be fine. Archer and Hunter checked me over. I just over did it." "Alright. Training is done for the day everyone. We will resume tomorrow. I got him guys." Said uncle. He carried me piggy back. "I'll lay you down on the couch for now to keep an eye on you." said uncle. I was getting sleepier until finally I passed out. "Lucia you ok? Lucia. Lucia! If you don't wake up in the next few hours, I am getting help." said Zonan.

Zonan's buddies showed up at the house. "Hey Zonan." said Hunter. "HuH? Oh its you guys. Come on in." They both went in and Archer said, "Zonan. When we caught up with Lucia he was loosing control pretty bad. He was knocking down trees and hurting himself. We got to him when his will to turn Nue was weakening and he collapsed on the ground. He said he felt strange and in a little pain." " Hmm." "What can we do to motivate him?" Before he could say anything, someone from the elders place came by and had some news. "Hello Zonan." Said the messenger. " I have a letter for Lucia." "OK Thanks. I'll give it to him when he wakes up." "Is he going to be ok?" "Yeah he will be fine. Thanks for the letter." "Your welcome. Goodbye."

After about 3 hrs. Zonan was about to go out and get help when Lucia decided to wake up. "Hmm. Oww. My head." Zonan ran over to Lucia. "You ok Lucia?!" "Yeah. What happened?" "You don't remember?" "Its all sort of fuzzy right now. I'm sure it will come back to me?" "Oh I forgot to tell you. You got a letter." "A letter? From who?" "I don't know open it and see." I saw the envelope and noticed the writing right away. "This is....Its from Camilla." I opened the letter it said:

My dearest Lucia.

I hope you made it to the village ok. I hope you are doing well. Since you left I haven't been seeming well. After about a week when I didn't feel better I found out I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant Lucia. It may not be when we wanted it too. Don't worry Quinn is not mad at you or feel like punching you when you get back. I will warn you he will scold you though. Mom said she would help me and Keelo said he would too. You may not be here for delivery, but I won't let our child not know who you are. Remember we have pictures of us. Our child will know you. I hope training is going well. Be careful not to tire yourself out. I know how you like to overdue it and hurt yourself. OK well I better get some rest mom is here. Love you always Camilla.

I read it silently so no one heard. Zonan saw I had a shocked face. "Hey Lucia. You ok? Lucia?" "He picked up the letter and read it himself. "Oh shit Lucia. Really? Your lucky Quinn isn't the type of brother to beat you up after something like that." "Huh? Yeah." I said not knowing what he just said. "I need some air uncle. I don't feel so good." "Alright kid. I'll make sure you don't fall." Uncle and I went somewhere outside and found a bench to sit on. I was hyperventilating. "Hey man calm down. It will be fine. She said her parents will help her. She's got Keelo and the others as well." "Cough Cough" "Shit. I don't know how to calm him down. At this rate he's going to pass out." Luckily a doctor was passing by and saw Lucia. "Hey you ok there?" said the doctor. "Hey I'm Zonan. I can't get my nephew to stop hyperventilating. He just found out he was going to be a father. He is only 16 years old." "That would explain it. Hang on. I can give him some medicine to calm him down. Hold him steady." Zonan help Lucia still, and the doc had something handy. "There. He should be ok in a few seconds." The doctor waited there to make sure Lucia was ok. "Cough Cough. Uncle?" "You gave us a scare there kid. Your uncle told me what happened. I myself was a parent at that age. We all turned out fine." "Yeah. Thanks."

"Well I best be going. Take care." "Thanks doc." Said Zonan. The doc waved.

"Hey uncle. I want to head back and write a letter to Camilla." "Alright Lucia." So we went back home. I sat down at the dining room table and started writing my letter to Camilla. It had been awhile and uncle decided to check on me. I had just folded the letter up and put it in an envelope when I fell asleep at the table. Uncle saw Lucia asleep. "Poor kid. Sometimes life happens the way you didn't want it too." Zonan sat on the couch, and rested his eyes.

Lucia finally woke up. "Huh? Oh I must have fallen asleep after writing the letter." I saw Zonan relaxed on the couch so I wrote a letter saying where I would be and headed out. Not long after Lucia left, Zonan woke up. He saw a note on the table. The note said: I'm going to drop off my letter and hang out with Hunter and Archer. I'll be back later. See ya. "That boy. I'm glad he has a lot of friends and family. Once I am gone he will be cared for. Cough Cough! Shit. I better go see the doc." He wrote a letter as well telling him he would be back. He didn't tell him where he was going.

I finally found the guys and said, "Hey Archer and Hunter. Thanks for helping me out there. I didn't know what do to." "Hey kid its fine." Said Archer. "You're one of us. We wouldn't let one of our kind going out and killing himself now." "Hey can I hang out with you guys for a bit? I wrote a note for Zonan to let him know I would be with you guys." "Sure all right." Said Hunter.

A few days later at Keelo's place, there was a letter that a snow bird had dropped by on his front porch. No one noticed for awhile until Keelo was about to walk in when he saw an envelope addressed to Camilla. "Oh I recognize this handwriting. Its from Lucia. I better go inside to give her the letter." He walked in and went to Lucia's room where she was staying for the time being. (Knock Knock) "Its me Keelo. I have a surprise for you." "Come in Keelo." "Hey how you feeling?" "A little tired. I will be ok. So what's this about a surprise?" He took out and envelope to show her. "Its from Lucia!" "OK I will be out here if you need me." "Thanks Keelo."

She opened the letter and it said:

My precious Camilla.

I hope you are feeling ok now. You guessed it I overdid myself a couple times but as you can see I am doing fine. I am writing this letter to you. I was really shocked when you told me we were going to have a baby. I'm glad Quinn won't punch me Haha. I will be prepared for a scolding though. Not just from him, but from everyone. I did my first training today. The training could have been better. I turned in Nue form and had a mother and her child come up to me. I was suppressing my urge to attack. After they went back to where they were I ran into the forest. I still wanted to attack, so I lost control and knocked some trees down. After awhile I was feeling weird. Archer and Hunter Zonan's buddies helped me out and brought me to Zonan. We went back to his place and he helped me on the couch to rest. I hope mom and the others are doing good. I will be leaving for my trip in 2 days by the time you get this. So you can still write me letters, I just won't get them until I get back. Hope to see you before a year, but that may be impossible. I love and miss you so much.

"Oh Lucia. I wish I was there to hug you right now." Camilla got up and went to Keelo. "Keelo? I have read the letter. I would like you to read it too if you don't mind." "Sure. I will get Frostine too. Hey Frostine. We have got a letter from Lucia. Come here!" "Coming." All three of them read the letter and had their opinions.

Back at the village. Zonan and Lucia were about to do their last training session before they leave for the Quest. "OK Lucia. This is going to be our last session before we leave in 2 days. Lets make it count ok?" We did the same thing we did the first day. By taking a girl each age and boy as well. I turned into my Nue form and waited. First the girls came up as always, then I watched them slowly come up to me. I was getting a lot better at trusting in my Nue form. Then the teenage boy and girl came up and did the same. Then the man and his little boy.

I looked at the little boy and saw something when I looked into his eyes. I got excited. Everyone was cautious at first then they saw that I was licking him. "Haha. That tickles Lucia." said the little boy. Everyone sighed in relief. "OK everyone. This is our last day of training before we head out. We will be leaving in 2days. We hope to see you all soon." said Uncle. I turned back into my human form and the kid ran up to me and hugged me. "Woah kid." I hugged him back. "Sorry about that Lucia. You are the first person he has done that too." "Its fine. I saw something in him as well in my Nue form. Sorry about licking his face. Nue Instinct." "Its fine. Thanks for not attacking him." "Yeah sure. Hey by the way sir. What is your sons name?" "Oh sorry. My name is Buck and this is my son Zen" "Well Buck and Zen. I hope to see you when I get back." "We hope to see you as well." So me and uncle went back home to get ready for our journey.
