7 Chapter 7: The Nue Village

"Ok Lucia. Here's what we are going to do. We will walk and take rests like normal. The thing is we will be walking even in the night until we get tired for the night. As for training, we will do that till night comes." "Aww man! Really?" I said. "Yes really." "Ok remember what I said about the village?" "Yeah. Only a Nue can find the village. Another person can follow and get there with a Nue as well." "That's right. We may have to be careful who may be following us because of that." "Let's walk a few more hours till we rest." "Yeah. Hey uncle?" "Yeah Lucia? What's up?" "You have seen the dagger I pulled out right?" "Yeah I have." "Can you tell me about it? I saw your face when I pulled it out as well. You know something about it." "Yeah I do. Its surprising someone gave it to you. I may have known one man who would have had the dagger. You said this man looked like he was in his 20's right?" "Yeah I did. He said not to worry about his name and just call him Master or Smoker." "Haha. Yep. That's him alright." Said Zonan. "I'm sure your sister has met him before. He was with me when your sister went into the pub. He was one of the people that didn't realize the goblin escaped when he had the sword." "So that's probably why he looked after me then. He must have known I was her brother." "I don't know what's going on in that strange man's head. Ok lets rest here. Then train a bit before walking."

Once we rested and trained we were walking again. Days went on and we were finally a day away from the village. "Hey uncle. We are a day away from the village. Shouldn't we try to walk further today?" "Haha. No. I'm not that young anymore. I am in my 40's after all." "Hey uncle. How come you never married or had kids?" Uncle had a serious face for a moment. "I had a family once. If you want to hear about it I will tell you at the village." "Ok. Sorry if I brought up a painful subject." "Its fine. It happened a long time ago. Before you were born. Lets get some shut eye." "Yeah. Night uncle." "Night Lucia." So they both went to sleep.

Lucia was having trouble sleeping. Something was going on he couldn't explain and he started groaning in his sleep. "NNH...Hmm." Zonan heard Lucia groaning and went over to check on him. "Shit. This kid has a fever. I know I'm going to regret this later." said Zonan. He packed up the supplies and started heading for the village.

Zonan finally got to the gate in the morning, was about to collapse when a few villagers decided to help them. The villagers took them and their stuff to where the healers were.

Around noon, Zonan woke up. Lucia was still out. "Woah. Oh I see. I made it to the village. Wait. Where's the kid?" He turned around and saw Lucia still out of it. Zonan sat up and waited for someone to come by to talk about Lucia.

After a few minutes, a doctor came in. "Oh Zonan. Your awake. Good. Let me check you out here. You know that was a dumb move you pulled. You could have shortened the amount of time you have left to live." "Yeah I know. No one else knows either. I appreciate if you keep it a secret from the kid." "Yes. I will." "By the way. How is he?" "He's sleeping now. No telling when he will wake up. He had a pretty bad fever." "I know that's why I brought him as quick as I can." "Can I get up doc?" "Yeah. You can sit next to Lucia." "Thanks."

Zonan held Lucia's hand and told him. "Your going to be ok young man. You just got a fight a little bit ok? Your sister and parents are waiting for you back home. We have to finish this quest before you head back home." Lucia started making sounds. "Hmm...Mn." "Lucia? You ok?" Zonan saw Lucia's face looking like it was in pain. "Hang on Lucia. I will get the doc." Before he could get up, Lucia unconsciously grabbed Zonan's wrist. "Its ok kid. I promised your mom I would care for you. I will do my best." Zonan felt Lucia's head again and it was a little warm but not hot. "I will stay with you till you wake up."

(Inside Lucia's head)

"Woah. Where am I? Oh I must be in my head. I remember sleeping, but then I felt feverish. Agh." "Lucia." "Huh? Who is that?" I turned around and saw a lot of people I don't remember seeing, but some of them look familiar. "Wait. Are you the people who didn't make it at the old village the Nue destroyed?" "Yes we are." Said a man. "I am Alyssa's father. This was her little sister. Her mom was the only one who made it besides her in our family." "I'm sorry. Wait. Am I dead?" Then another random voice came over and said, "That is up to you Lucia." Said a young woman. "I know I have never seen you. Who are you?" "Your uncle Zonan will explain. I'm sure he will show you a picture. Like I said. It is up to you whether you decide to stay or not. You still have a life. Your body is fine. The fever has stopped for you to decide what your are going to do." " I am sorry. I'm sorry for what happened to everyone. I am a Nue as well." "Its ok Lucia. We all know. Its not like we are blaming all the Nue. Just the ones that attacked our village. So Lucia. What are you going to do?" "Well first, I'm going to go to a more peaceful place in my mind. Will you join me." "OK lets go then." "Ahh. Much better. Now I'm really thinking hard. My family is mostly alive. Oh that's right. Dad's biological father. Is he here?"

"Yes I am here as well." "Woah dad really does look like you except for his eyes." "Haha. Yeah. I knew you were going to want to talk. I wanted to talk to you too. I have a message for my son. Tell him. I'm proud of him. I loved him before he was born. I wish I could have seen him grow up." "I'm sure he would love to hear that." "As for my wife. Tell her I'm happy she didn't give up on love. That man she has is a good one." "I will." "Well. I better make my decision now." "Wait!" said a little girl. "Hello who are you?" "I'm Keelo's little sister." "Oh your his full blood sister that died." "Yes." "Tell my big brother I love and miss him. Tell him its not anyone's fault I died. Also I'm proud of him. I was proud to be his little sister." "I will. Oh what is your name?" "Oh its Nadine." "Thanks Nadine." "Ok I want to head back. How do I get back?" "Look behind you Lucia." Said the woman. "Well thank all of you for catching me up. I will be sure to tell everyone what you told me. "Hey lady? Is there anything you want to tell uncle?" "Oh that's right. Tell him that I love him and its not his fault. I am so proud of him. The kids love him too." "I will." So I waved goodbye.

(Outside of Lucia's head.)

"That's it. I'm getting a doctor." said Zonan. "Wait. Ha..ha.." I said. "Lucia? Your wake. How you feeling?" "Like a hammer hit my head." "OK I'm going to get a doctor to let him know your awake." "Yeah." I tried sitting up myself, but I couldn't. 'What the hell is wrong with me?' I said to myself. Then the doctor finally came in. "Hello Lucia." "Hey doc. Am I going to be ok?" "Yes your going to be just fine. Tomorrow you will be able to get up well and rested." "Oh good. What is exactly wrong with me?" "It looked like your uncle worked you a little too hard." "Yeah. My bad." "Its fine."

The next morning I was able to leave and enjoy walking around the village. "Woah. This village is pretty cool." "Yeah." Said Zonan. "Hey Lucia. We should probably talk to the elder pretty soon. Find out your quest." "Yeah. We can head there now. Really cool village."

"Hello Elder. The kid is fine. He is here with me." said Zonan. "Let me see the boy." Said the elder. "Go on Lucia. Its fine. I will wait out here." "Alright." So I went in the back and the Elder looked at me. "You really do have your mothers looks." "Um sir? What is it that I have to do?" "oh sorry. Yes. Lets go over here where Zonan and a couple of his friends can sit." Zonan and his friends came by and sat down.

"As you know, the quest was to bring something up the mountain." "Yes sir." I said. "As for what it is....Hiro?" "Yes sir. I will get it now." Hiro had brought out a gorgeous sword. It had a black Blade with a blue hilt. The blade had some sort of writing on it as well that was blue. I pulled it out of its sheath and said, "Sir? I don't know this language. Will there be a time I will?" "I am sure you will figure it out. You wouldn't have been given the quest if that was the issue." "Where will I be taking the sword sir?" "There should be an old man at the tip top of that mountain. He will tell you what you are to do." "Yes sir." "I will be hanging on to the sword until its time to leave. Go enjoy the village while you can." "Thank you sir." I said. "Go ahead Lucia. I'll find you." "Alright thanks uncle."

"I know what you are thinking Zonan. He reminds you of your son. When are you going to tell him?" "Don't worry Elder. Everything will be fine. I'm stronger now. I will try not to go overboard. I know I'm not in the perfect health." "You two. Archer and Hunter. Watch over the boy if anything happens to Zonan on the quest. That's an order." "yes sir." "I better catch up to the kid."

"Oh hey uncle. This village is so much different from any other village I stayed at." "It sure is." "Hey uncle. I've been thinking. If I did stay in this village, Camilla would have to come too. Would that be ok? I mean I know she is a Fox and I don't know what the village thinks of them. I would worry." "Lucia. Its fine. We haven't disregarded them for years now." "Oh thank god. Thanks uncle. I want to talk with Camilla about it when I get back home." So we finished Roaming around the village, and headed to Zonan's place.
