6 The Day After

Warmth, that is the first thing she felt when her consciousness returned to her as she slowly woke up from a deep sleep. Snuggling to the source of warmth she felt pain all over her body stopping her from moving and the memory of what happened the night before came crashing to her in waves. She started to panic when the arms around her tightened and pulled her deeper in the warm embrace the nine tails covering her like a blanket. She tried to push but the arms tightened around her even more locking her in place.

A kiss on her forehead and a small whisper on her ear forced her to calm down.

He knew the moment she woke as she tried to snuggle closer to him but within seconds she started to struggle against him. Keeping her locked in his arms he whispered in her ear and watched as she tried to force herself to calm down. He sat up and pulled her along as he sat her between his legs and held her as she cried her anger and hatred out on his tails.

Hours later Ying Zi brought a plate of sliced assorted fruits to feed his new bride who from last night's activity and the crying this morning.

"Pet, you better eat, after you eat I'll take you to the nearest city since I've torn your clothes you'll need some, but if you want to go around naked... I won't mind. I would even appreciate it greatly."

Ying Zi watched as his new little bride ate the fruits mechanically. He didn't mind as he remembered a few hundred years ago a fox brought a woman of a different race for his bride and her reaction was also the same as his bride right now. So not minding his little wife's attitude for now he took one of his robes trimmed it to her size. He also chose a dark-colored cloak and trimmed it to fit her size.

As his wife finished eating he carried her through the numerous corridors in the mansion and brought her to an indoor bath. Taking off the sheet wrapped around her he placed her in the shallow pool filled with hot water from the back spring.

"This should help with the pain you're feeling right now Pet. The water from this pool came from the hot spring behind the mountain. One of my uncles made a path for the water to reach the pool here so that he can enjoy my aunt in peace. Since they are always bothered when they are bathing in the spring."

She saw the pain in his smile and noticed that other than him she didn't see any other foxes or other creatures in this place but she didn't ask and he didn't explain.

She let him bathe her and he enjoyed the silence between them each lost in their own thoughts. After he dressed her in his robes and wrapped her in the cloak and carried her out the door and to the garden.

"Better hold on tight Pet, The travel to the city will be bumpy and you'll be slightly uncomfortable. And just to warn you Pet if anyone discovers that I'm a demon no one in that city will live to see the next sunrise so you better behave."

After hearing that her thoughts of escaping and asking for help vanished and just held on to him as he prepared to travel to the city.

With a sudden leap Ying Zi was so high up in the air and landed on a flying beast that flew them to the city. The sudden weightlessness made Yue feel sick and the cold air slicing through the clothes she's wearing made her hug Ying Zi tighter for his warmth.

After an hour of traveling, they reached the outskirts of the city and Ying Zi brought her down the beast. Having her feet firmly on the ground Yue found herself dizzy, nauseous, and unsteady on her feet that Ying Zi had to help her until she can stand on her own.

He slowly leads her to a clearing where a man dressed as a servant was holding a horse reigns.

"Master, this is your request."

He handed the reigns to Ying Zi and left. Taking the reigns from the servant he checked the horse then turned to his dear little bride or by this time his little wife.

"Come here, we will ride to the city. It will be safer for you and them if we ride to the city instead of flying there."

He placed her in front of him and had the horse slowly trot on the way to the city.
