12 Gone with the Wind

The party on horseback steadily carried on riding along a steep cliff. Idris looked behind her at the two archers, Demarcus smiled when he turned towards her, the other man barely noticed. Turning back around she tried to remember his name. She thought hard for a while before recalling 'Makaio.' Turning around she looked back at the man, he had brown eyes and brown hair. A short bushy beard surrounded his lower face, and he work mostly leather armor. He was rather handsome she thought to herself turning back around. Looking ahead she saw they were headed below tree line again and she felt relieved. It was freezing this high up on the mountain, the wind was ruthless and cut through her clothes. In the trees there would be some protection she thought to herself.

A little red fox and large black wolf slept curled up next to each other. Light seeped into the cave they both lay warming the two figures. The wolf lifted an ear hearing the sounds of footsteps, then opened two vibrant blue eyes. Slowly he crept from the bed and turned to look at the fox who hadn't stirred. Without making a sound he left the cave and went into the woods seeking his out the noise that rose him from his slumber.

Idris felt like someone was watching her, she looked at Bohan who wasn't looking at her.

So she turned around and glanced at the two men behind her.

Demarcus saw her glance and grinned.

"Admiring the view?" He asked his yellow eyes sparkling.

Idris became bright red, "No of course not!" she exclaimed.

"Oh, I see," he said, "you were admiring the other view," he motioned to Makoia who wasn't paying attention to the conversation until now.

"Makoia, you've got an admirer!" Demarcus said in a sing-songy voice. Makoia looked at the woman in front of him and gave her a grin.

"Maybe later we can get to know each other better," Makoia said giving her a wink.

"Silence," Ciall said in a hushed tone. She turned around and gave the three a glare then resumed her riding.

Idris turned around her face flush with embarrassment. 'I guess it's not a bad thing though if he thinks I like him.' She thought to herself but still couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. One hand held the reins and the other gripped her wand tightly.

Makoia on the other hand watched the woman in front of him. She wore a thick light blue dress that hugged her upper body then flowed out at the hips. However the way she sat in the saddle made it tight around she butt. Makoia started at her and imagined what she would look like naked. In his mind he replaced the horse she was riding with his own hips.

He was so engrossed in his imagination he let his tired horse fall behind the group a little. Not significantly, just enough that the horses ears were at Demarcus's feet.

Idris thought she heard something behind her and quickly turned around again. And she let out a gasp.

Demarcus was about to give another sly reply when he follows Idris's eyesight to the empty saddle slightly behind him.

"Where the fuck did Makoia go?" He said staring behind him and not seeing any sign of the man.

Ciall lifter her head in the air and took a deep breath.

"I can smell his blood, he's probably dead." The crew looked at each other in shock while Ciall, not at all seeming bothered, scanned the forest around her.

"I can smell something now but it's faint, we will carry on but be more vigilant. Demarcus take the reins of Makaio's horse. We might need it late." Everyone quickly obeyed, the shock of loosing a party member without anyone noticing it happen was very unsettling.
