1 BETA | It's Finally Here!

Well, before anything, I must introduce you to Oskar a polish and Italian boy whom was born in the United States, boy. He looks more Italian than anything, or his mother really, he has skin tone has a hint of olive, his eyes a beautiful teal, and his father's honey brown hair. He lives in America or more specifically the dystopian people call New York in a pandemic.

The Current year is 2023 and the pandemic still rages on, though it has lightened, and most of New England has been put on lockdown for the last 6 months. A breakthough in early 2020 has accelerated a company called 'The Jailors', which where mostly engineers and neuro scientists with a few game developers. They actually made the breakthrough and kept it hidden to the general public.

2 years later a VR Capsule was released and, with the help with a few neuro chips, could allow you to play games in your sleep and without moving, etc. The Jailors announced the game they have been working on for the last year. Three weeks ago The Jailors announced the beta and allowed early access, perks, and a few extra things that would come if you bought it. This also included increased dilated time, it was The Jailors second game it time dilation was included, but instead of 1 hour in real life being a day 1 hour was half a week. The increased time dilation was thought to be a kickstarter exclusive, and that existed in 2020 when everyone thought The Jailors made some really, fucking, good drugs and tried to scam people.

One day ago, Oskar finally recieved both the new 'Jail' Capsule, one of the Jailors new and improved capsules, and the game 'The Foundation'. After reading contracts and setting up his capsule for most of the day he hopped in the capsule, the game came preinstalled as the Jail capsule was bonus to the beta, for now at least.

Oskar pressed a button and the capsule split in two, it's doors are cool, the interior of it was decorated with fake blood and chains. He sat in the capsule layed down and connected the chains to his wrists and to his legs. He then spoke "Testing, Activate Orange Detainment Procedure." As his eyes slowly began to close and his body began to weaken until he fell asleep.

He was spent another 10 minutes testing things in the main menu and installed another game, a rather light weight game, it was considered the best game to first play because it covered a lot and showed you what you would need to calibrate to make everything natural. He spent another 20 minutes testing in the game leaving it a couple times to make calibrate test everything, for an example making sure his height was shown as 6'4, or his height, and making sure it had no delays, after all he was going to play a horror game.

"Hello," A sweet and robotic voice spoke, "My name is Prism. You have One Message from the Overseers." The Devs were called Overseers. Oskar looked around hoping to find a box, he lightly sighed when he gave up "Prism, Open the Message." A tired man spoke quietly "Uh, Oh yeah! Hello the game isn't, uh, out now. Create your characters I guess?" He took a deep breath and began to speak dozens of names, each contributing something to team. Six names a second for one minute, "Mac Coleman, Celeste Riley, Mille Adams, Emir Rollins, Anwar Cherry, Leighton Moreno, Oskar Castella, Raphel Tucker." He took another deep breath "Uh, Something Else? No? Wait." He audibly frowned and went to express his grievances with his boss. A couple seconds later it ends.

After changing settings to allow Oskar to press buttons instead of speaking he created his character. Factions was the first choice and currently you couldn't choose any faction except The Foundation. Although in later patches you could become apart of the Chaos Insurgency or any number of cults, he chose foundation. Next was his class he could choose from D-Class, Security Guard, or Scientist. Each having it's own unique subclasses and ways to get better classes. Scientists and Guards can become MTF and D-Class can join any number of organizations. D-Class normally start off with a subclass related to criminal activities.

Oskar thought about his decision. Being a D-Class was basically being prisoner thrown into chaos, even if most were death row inmates, it was a valid choice for when other organizations where in the game, and his anomalous abilities would be questioned less. Security was dangerous since you had to deal with any unruly D-Class or charge head face into danger when a breach happens, while his anomalous abilities would be questioned it most likely would be welcomed. Scientist was an interesting choice, as he would research the anomalous while being anomalous, it would also be more likely that he would be studied.

Then there was a closed beta exclusive SCP. He was scared about this choice, especially since you get the memories from your character's past and it's feelings, I mean imagine you were alive since the wheel invented imagine the pain and suffering, both personal and public, you would watch. Maybe you are 079 and you feel like a machine and you feel the code running through you and you feel the pain as it is taken away. Oskar was unsure about all of it, though he still had 30 minutes before launch.

Oskar thought and thought and though, he had a headstart compared to others when it came to the AI since he programmed a couple dozen NPCs and even created an algorithm to help create NPCs. He also knew a bit about the military structure, it came from the United States' army with a few tweaks, since he helped program a few enemy NPCs, the US army asked the Jailors to simulate the battlefield, most weren't in the closed beta though.

Oskar decided after 5 minutes, Security Guards. Prison Riots were likely to happen since D-Class would the players. (Check Author Notes) Most players would ask for special or better treatment and the choice to interact with SCPs. Containment Breaches were unlikely but the Devs announced that one site would have a containment breach, this was to test it and make sure everything was going alright, this was going to happen on one of the smaller sites, also players would be spread out across a number of sites and a few areas in the Americas. He didn't want to be on that site once you die you are dead for an entire month and you have to create another character losing all benefits, including your anomalous abilities.
