2 The beginning of the fallen

Commander Salem was on his horse ready for battle he had his armor on it was heavy but easy to come off in a pinch if it needed to. He was waiting on his scouts to come back to see what the actual size of the enemy is, just then his scouts came back riding as fast as the wind "commander the enemy numbers 100,000" then the second scout came back "commander the enemy is on the move". Commander Salem had faith in his men but even he knew that 10:1 odds is not favorable. He went down the line with his sword drawn "Men we have come to this sacred land where this battle takes place, on this desert of a land but know that odds might not be in our favor" he said "they number 100,000 and we only have 10,000 troops I know some of you don't want to die so this is your only opportunity to retreat and save yourselves. I will stay and hold them off as long as I can anybody that wants to stay can do so but it might cost you your life" as he finished his speech over 8,000 soldiers law downed their weapons and retreated. As he stood there it did not shock to see so many men leave but it worsens the odds even more. "All of the remaining soldiers pick up the weapons you will need this will be a long battle" Commander Salem said.

"Do you think the plan will work king?" said the minister "he is one of our best commanders and you are willing to sacrifice him to save the country" "you wouldn't understand all I did was send the weak to die that's why I sent 1,000 of my men to even the odds and if he survives the battle they have the order to kill him and all of his lieutenants that way this land can be at peace"

The battle was feracious he has not lost a single man yet, but they had killed a thousand men they were in a tight circular fight pattern that allowed no entry and no escape, but the Commander soon realized that they were fighting in the shade he yelled "RAISE SHIELDS". In an instant everybody did but this was the opportunity the enemy was waiting for. With an attack force, just over 3,000 men rushed the shield wall and made it through. The enemy counterattack forced everybody off guard, they pushed into the center of the circle where Salem was, but they didn't know that he was a magic user. He raised his sword and yelled "FIRE TRUE" his sword turned into fire, and he slashed at the enemies and killed 20 soldiers with a swing that was as fast as lightning. Salem commended his troops to spread out and counterattack he looked around and saw that he lost about 500 men "this is not good" he said to himself. Then out of nowhere all of his troops disappeared he fell to the ground in disbelief thinking to himself "I am the only one left". Then he saw 10,000 calvary units charge at him, he stood up and picked up his sword and took off his armor, and spoke a chant "Blaze watch over me all mighty one for that I am calling upon your strength to kill all enemies and protect my homeland for which god or devil helps me I will serve you for the rest of eternity" when he finished he charged at the enemy at incredible speed and took out the first ten horsemen. The enemy dismounted and started to attack Salem it looks like he was about to get overwhelmed but in an instant, he yelled "Fire True" as he picked up a spear and threw it, I'm the middle of the enemy as soon as the spear landed it exploded taking out over 5,000 troops the rest of the enemy retreat and was preparing for another attack. He sat down and started to think "where did I go wrong", just then he got stabbed in the back by five of his troops the supposedly disappeared. It was the king's elite guards, "the king no longer needs your services he sent us to make sure you died in this battle and all of the men under you, no one will remember you no one" one of the elite guards said. In his dying breath, he said "I got a message I want you to take back to the king in 3 centuries I will return with an army just like me and all of you will regret betraying meeeeeeeeee".
