1 Blood

He was bleeding. It wasn't a light flow of blood escaping from a grazed knee or a cut finger, it was a heavy river of scarlet liquid running down his pale skin, staining it.

This is the type of bleeding that leaves the victim weak and light headed.

The type of bleeding that came hand in hand with bruises, scars and cruel words.

None of this was new for Leo. In fact, he was abused daily by his twisted family. Each family member had their own unique way of torturing him.

His 'darling' mother would find fault with everything he did.

"Don't eat that, you need to lose a few pounds, you fat f**"

to "You useless brat, I wish you'd never been born".

He meant nothing to her. She was tall, slim and blonde, with cold blue eyes. She'd be pretty if it wasn't for the ugliness that lay inside her.

His father, was the main cause of his injuries. The man was a filthy scumbag, who spend most of his day with a bottle of some type of alcohol and a pack of cigarettes clutched in his hands.

Everything Leo did seemed to be punishable by a beating.

And beatings were ten times worse  when the abuser has a empty glass bottle in his hand.

The man looked as if he was carved from stone. He had a sharp, thin face, beautiful tanned skin and a heart as cold and as hard as marble.

His siblings never hurt him physically.  The twins, Lea and Leon

hated their little brother with a burning passion. He was too weak, small, scrawny, ugly, worthless, whatever they wanted to think.

Leon would treat him like a slave, pushing him around and making him do horrible tasks otherwise he would get beat.

Lea would leave scissors and knives in the smaller boys room, with notes begging him to use them.

To slice open his scarred, porcelain slin and spill his blood out on his own.

The twins were beautiful, with dark hair and dark eyes. Their souls probably matched, black as charcoal.

The boy was surrounded by people, but still he felt isolated from them.

His scars didn't make him feel beautiful like what people said. He felt like everything his parents thought he was.

Worthless

Pathetic

Ugly

Stupid

Useless

F*****

Despite all this, Leo never thought about suicide. He knew that if he did die, he would be missed by someone.

His only friend.

His one Ray of light in a dark world.

He needed her and she needed him.

If only he hadn't made that stupid decision.
