5 Who are you?

I called for one of the servants waiting outside to call Doctor Yun. After a while there was no response at all so I decided to wait and see only to realize that it was dead silent outside. I quickly got up and headed towards the door while tossing the Phoenix crown to the side table. When I reached the door and opened it to look outside, the servant girls were still there but they just stood there as if they hadn't heard a thing I said.

"This lady had told you servants to call for Doctor Yun but you have not moved an inch, should I consider this as servents rebelling against their masters?" I coldly stated as I stare at the servant girls

"This servant doesn't dare but his highness has already stated that us servants does not need to heed to your beck and calls." replied one of the servant girl as they looked over with disdain and coldly replied back to me.

Frustrated, I sighed. I can't believe this! That love crazy emperor actually gave such an order to all the servants! At this rate I might as well as kick all the servants out then. Really what's the use of having servants around if they aren't going to be useful? He's just a wasting money by keeping them here anyway. Hmph!

I turned around and slamed the door shut walked away from the room heading towards the gate.

"My lady! Where are you heading to!?" shouted the servant girl with concern.

"This lady is obviously heading out to Doctor Yun. Afterall all the servants in this lady's courtyard is literally useless." I stated as I walked away quickly

The servant girls and eunuchs looked at each other only to realise that there was shock and concern reflecting in the oher's eyes. Afterall what would they do if the emperor finds out that they not only did not do their job well but let the "empress" do as she pleases in the palace, for sure their heads would fly!

All the servants quickly chase after Shen Mu Lan while trying the urge her to stay.

"Your majesty, please wait." shouted one of the eunuchs from behind

"This lady now sees clearly that you will not listen to my orders, so for what reason must I listen to you. In this entire palace no one has the say over me except for his majesty, the emperor." I retorted as I continued out the gate towards the Imperial Medicine Ward.

"Your majesty, please these servants has heard you order and will obey. If you would so kindly return we will immediately go call for a imperial physician." shouted the servant girl that was with eunuch.

"Hmph, this lady will give you one more chance. I shall stand here and wait as you go call for Doctor Yun." I said as I turned around and look at all the servants who came out from the courtyard.

They sure were acting as if they would lose their heads if I were to leave the courtyard. Wait! They just might, considering that the emperor considers me a hostage. Should I go back? Nah, this way I slowly teach the servants to listen to me. Afterall, I need a few of them to be on my side if I want to sneak out after.

"This servant lives to obey." said the servant girl as she quickly tells one of the other servants to go call for an imperial physician.

The servant called on left quickly as if he had seen a ghost.

After a few moments the imperial physician that arrive was someone else. I turned and gave a disappointing look to the servant girl and eunuch pair that was looking back at me with a concerned look.

"Sigh. This lady had specifically said to call for Doctor Yun. It seems that no matter what this lady says you will only obey the emperor. If this is the case this lady does not need such servants who can't even listen to my orders. You are all dismissed and may go serve the emperor or Imperial concubine Zhen instead. This lady is already starting to feel ill from just you servants, at this rate this lady can only die of stress due to the incompetence for the servants that the emperor has assigned here."

All the servants looked at Shen Mu Lan with a shocked expression. They couldn't help complain internally as to why the emperor would assigned them here too. Afterall if they had a choice they would rather serve the favored Imperial concubine Zhen instead of Shen Mu Lan, who was an abandoned empress.

The imperial physician that just arrived couldn't help but look shocked as well afterall wasn't the empress said to be a shy, quiet, and calm lady? How come the empress that confronted of him now seemed so stern, confident, and determined?

Even the way the empress spoke was different, it was like an elder who was scolding a younger generation who wasn't fulfilling their filial piety.z Not to mention the way she stood, a straight posture that emitted an aura of someone who was of importantance and held authority over others. Although before when Chen Yu Lan stood straight she never emitted that sort of aura. The empress had completely changed from a few years ago, he couldn't fine any resemblance of the girl who stood quietly in the courtyard a from back then to the one who currently stood in front of him now.

He returned from his deep thoughts and look at the servants who looked like they were about to lose their heads if they didn't heed the order of the empress and quickly thought that he should step forward to try and save the situation before it gets worse but before he could even step forward the eunuch beat him to it.

The eunuch stepped forward quickly and said "May your majesty return back to the courtyard first with imperial physician Fei. We will go call for Doctor Yun to come this instance." after making this statement he left to go call for Doctor Yun.

Imperial physician Fei was uterally shocked as he stood there and watch wide eyed as the eunuch quickly left. He really wondered who was this empress afterall didn't the emperor say that no one had to listen to empress's word for he would be getting rid of her in a few years time. If this went on wouldn't it be hard for the imperial family to have control over Shen Mu Lan.

As imperial physician Fei was deep in thought he didn't realized that Shen Mu Lan was staring at him with a smirk.

Hmph, imperial physician Fei don't assume that this lady is the same as Chen Yu Lan! I will never let you all have the final laugh. I turned around to head back to the courtyard.

"Is imperial physician Fei not coming to me to courtyard anymore?"

After hearing Shen Mu Lan speak imperial physician Fei returned back from his shocked state and he could not help but blurt out what was on his mind, "Who are you?"
