2 Misfortune into Fortune

On a warm summer day no different than any other, there was a small cracking sound. The origin of this sound was hard to locate with the sounds of the waves making it extremely hard to detect. But once found the sound could be seen coming from the little egg, finally getting ready the hatch. The beautiful crimson red and asura blue shell, that covered the surface of the egg was falling apart. Thru the hole in the egg, a claw was desperately trying to free the rest of its body mustering all its strength.

To its dismay however the little claw found out after multiple attempts of trying to break free found that the shell it was trapped in was extremely hard and durable. It had no choice but to slowly break it bit by bit, after some time the effects of exhaustion kicked in forcing the baby inside to rest for a while. Little did the baby dragon or welp know but he needed the help of a grown dragon to hatch, it was already a miracle that it possessed enough strength to crack the shell in the first place or he would have forever been trapped with the shell.

After countless times of resting and attacking its "prison" the little welp finally broke free, starting to investigate himself as he looked into the water. He was a fierce looking thing two big horns coming out of the back of his skull and a smaller nub right on his snout. He had a bright crimson eye on his left giving of a fiery energy while his right eye was that of a deep cyan blue having a bone piercing cold held within it. Its body a full two feet in length bore light blue scales for its underbelly and varying shades of red for its sides. On its back was a pair of tiny wings not yet big enough or strong enough to fly, the scales a darker shades of red and blue. His feet held five claws on them there colure a shining ivory white, if any other creature but a dragon were to lay eye's on him they could not describe him as anything but beautiful.

After a short nap to regain his strength he felt a small pain of hunger within him self, looking to find some food he could find nothing within the cave. Finally after a period of time the welp denied it had no choice but to eat the shell it hatch out of. Surprisingly it found that its shell having become much softer now was highly nutritious and served an ample source of food the last him for days.

With nothing better to do the little welp patrolled the cave finding to its dismay that the area was not that big. The total area could only amount to about fifty square meters, their were no exits to be found or any other sources of food to sustain the little welp. The whole costal cave that it was stuck in was basically a dead zone devoid of all life all he could do was lay down and conserve as much energy as possible.

Fate the only thing having kept the welp alive seemed to have doomed him to die of starvation. As he lay there losing energy day by day he slowly started to wonder why this was happening to him. For the little welp had finally stared to develop his intelligence after a few weeks without going with food. "this pain its leaving me with no energy" the little welp thought laying in the dark and quiet cave complete silence filled the area. He was in a sad state his flanks were completely devoid of all the baby fat he was born with, his tiny ribs were protruding out from his sides. Both of his beautiful eyes were so dim almost lifeless at this point, the hunger almost pushing him to the brink of death.

But then one day the welp could hear loud banking nosies coming from the back end of the cave, the welp for the first time felt fear for the unknown as the sounds of large explosions became louder and louder. Until the roof the the cave collapsed revelling a blinding light that stunned the welp, being exposed to light all of a sudden for all it had previously known was darkness. Two figure's can be seen falling down from the hole the aura's that they give off tell the welp to run away and hide, but his curiosity gets the better of him as he watched them from behind a bolder.

The two figure's both have to legs and two arms, but one of them as a pair of wings they look different from his while his have soft skin in-between his wings this figure has white feathers there seems to be a lot of them to. the one with wings wields a square object saying things as many large projectiles appear before his heading toward the other figure. That figure meets the projectiles head on, moving side to side as he approaches the winged creature he wields a large object almost as long as his body holding one side of it while swinging the other at the projectiles cutting them in half.

The auras they give of tell the welp these two creatures hate each other as the battle keeps raging on the one with the wings keeps his distance wile the other one keeps trying to approach thru the onslaught of those golden projectiles, suddenly the running creature slips past the objects with a silver light appearing right behind the flying one. A grin appearing right on his face, then a red light seams to coat his object giving of intense heat that even the welp can feel from quite a distance away. The flying creature didn't seem to worry to much as another abject appears in his right had, similar to the object wielded by the other creature except it seams to be about half the size. The Two objects collide causing a giant shock wave, both of them seem to have been injured by this exchange as they fall to the ground.

The winged creature rises first charging at the other impaling him in the chest golden light illuminated the whole cave, just like that the battle between these two is over the winged creature took some object from the corps and then he left.

Fate seemed to provide the for the little welp as their was now a source of food right in front of him. "I'm so hungry but those two things were so terrifying" it thought as its round eye's kept glancing at the body now spilling blood out into the floor. "i have to risk it and i won't last longer" he thought still terrified from the battle that had happened moments ago. As the welp started to eat he noticed strange energies entering his body strengthening him, he found this odd at first but he was to hungry to care any more as he ate half the corps in one go completely ignoring the changes occurring in his body.

The welp didn't know this but the corps belonged to a mage and all the magic that remained in his body was absorbed by him, with out knowing it he had actually become a rank one magic beast right at the low level. All magic beast preyed on mages and also each other so only the strong could survive and progress further as the ranks increased the magic beast became more intelligent and could even gain powerful abilities. All ranks consist of low, medium and peak before advancing to the next rank. Of course certain creatures like dragons could just wait till they grew older and naturally advance but that would take decades and they would be weaker compared to their pears who fought there way to that rank, and thus the world of magic beast was a harsh one where one could only ever truly rely on himself.

After gorging him self the little welp goes out to explore the hole that was made, to its delight there seemed to be a slope the now lead out of the cave finally allowing the welp to leave the desolate cave. As he clawed his way out he was greeted to a lush green forest the two creatures from before had created a massive crater feeling exposed the welp made a beeline straight for the forest before anything could notice it.

"This place is so colour full" thought the welp who had only know of darkness until now, taking in all to new stimulation from the sounds, colours and smells the little welp carelessly watching little birds chirp and fly. But he was still a predator so he noticed a rustling in the bushes nearby, he came across some dear like animals with green fur and brown spots mixed in he feels an urge to attack them but he sensed another presence nearby so he quelled his urges the pounce on the dear and tear into its flesh. A split second later a large leopard pounce's onto a large stage griping onto its neck, the struggle was over within a second the dear like animals were not magic creatures so the stage stood no chance at survival.

This new predator stood victorious letting out a loud roar, after having its fill it left the remaining caracas behind. "that smells to delicious but that thing might still be around" thought the welp as he hide in the bushes watching as these events unfolded.

**********

As the welp witnessed the true nature of the forest and nature the angelic creature landed within a large throne room. " Your majesty, the thief as been killed and the dragons blood was retrieved" said Valor bowing down to his knees his right are across his chest.

"Good good, if word got out that our empire was using dragons blood to help cultivate our mages weed have the whole Draconic empire waging war agents us" the king sighed a cold shiver ran thru his spine. "not our fault their blood has no side effects and supplies so much mana to whoever uses it to top it off the mana is so easy to absorb its perfect for a mage who is at a bottle neck, and thats not even counting the effects of a true dragon's blood. Even so the stuffs so hard to get put another 20 guards on patrols around the area so this dosen't happen again" he said with a stern look on his face.

"I will arrange for the extra guards at once my liege, but i have one more thing i wish to tell you" Valor said with a grin appearing on his face "while fighting the thief i picked up some faint traces of mana that should belong to a powerful species of dragon. Better yet it's to minute to be that of an adults so we should arrange for a search party at once this is a great opportunity for us" Valor's eye's were practically shining at this point. It was truly rare for a young dragon to ever leave their continent without an adult following them most dragon chose to nest in their kingdom making dragons extremely rare on all other continents.
