4 A Sweet Summer's Song

On a warm summers day the welp woke up from his sleep. "Dam I must have slept in a bad spot" The welp moaned as he tried to rouse his still stiff legs, cramps having developed over the night made his initial moments slow and rigid looking.

"Grrrr, i slept on one of my wings i can't glide right now" though the welp as he desperately stretched out his wings trying to spread his blood into them. Finally after constantly flapping them they were fully functional, after gaining his mobility back the welp manoeuvred through the tree's towards a clearing he had found the day before. It was oddly one of the most peaceful parts of the forest with no other predator going there not even Scar the strongest creature the welp had ever seen since those two legged creatures that once broke into his cave.

The welp excitedly leaped from branch to branch both his fiery red eye and his cold blue eye showed excitement as he headed towards a clearing. " Im so lucky when i found this place yesterday and the best part is that big tree at the centre of the clearing makes fruits that are so delicious they taste almost as good as meat!"

With the thought of easy food ripe for the picking the gluttonous welp increased his speed, the only reason he didn't sleep in the fruit tree was that the branches were to low to the ground for the welps likings and he still feared being attacked when his guard was down like when he had his first kill a few days before.

The welp entered the clearing and leaped onto the tree right away showing a pleasant smile as his teeth sunk into the fruits. "Ohh their so sweet, and filling for some reason I have only eaten 10 fruits but I'm already so full." The welp decided to take a nap on the fruit tree not caring for the low branches at the moment, his body already feeling sluggish the welp took the chance and fell asleep.

**********

"Oh little flower"

"Tell me all your pain"

The welp woke up a few hours latter to a strange but calming voice he heard. "where is that voice coming form I can't place it to any one spot and it sounds like its coming form the whole clearing." His eye's darted from one end of the clearing to the other until they landed on a silver haired figure, it looked like the two creatures that once broke him out of his cave but it had no wings. The welp could also tell that this creature was female for some strange reason with her beautiful silver hair and her deep blue eye's she looked wonderful in the welps eye's.

"why do you weep"

"And wither away"

"When the roses bloom and the daisies dance"

"While you wast away"

"Hmm her attention seems to be on that small plant" The welp was paying attention to her as she sang and couldn't help notice the small orchid she sang to, it was primarily a black and golden colour with small tints of silver mixed in.

"All grass still flourish on this wonderful day"

"All the bird sing and the rabbits still play"

"Tell me your pain my little flower"

Her soft voice calmed the little welp, for once he felt a sense of security and safety as he watched her sing this soothing and calming song. Strange green energy also seemed to come off of her making the surrounding plants seem to bloom and grow much faster around her, creating a lush and beautiful background further enhancing her beauty. Her pale skin began to take in more colour, she looked like the queen of the forest with all her majestic movements and he elegant dancing as she continued to sing.

"While sun still shines"

"And the clouds bring precious rain"

"Ohh little flower won't you grow for me to day"

As the whole clearing became lush with vitality the welp noticed the one orchid she sang to still did not grow it looked as feeble as it was before almost unchanged. "That green power coming off of her seems to be getting more dense." He noticed she was trying to direct more and more of that strange power toward this one orchid, but sadly he wonderful song and her power were almost completely ineffective in growing it.

"While the birds still sing and the rabbits still play"

"When the roses bloom and the daisies dance"

"The sun still shines and the clouds bring rain"

"Oh little flower"

"Wont you tell me before we all fade away"

"The sun beings to fall and the rain goes far away"

"The birds go to bed and rabbits hide away"

She had sung well into the after noon and the final rays of the sun seemed to envelop her creating a golden radius around her making her seem more gentle and warm. "I don't know why she doesn't give up on that flower its clearly about to die. Yet she desperately sings to it trying to give the small flower life." Regardless the welp was still immersed in her song and also that strange energy that gave life to all.

"But the roses still bloom and the daisies dance"

"So wont you tell me and break out of this trance!"

"What the F*** all of a sudden she releases such a strong energy this is ridiculous." As giant pillar of bright green energy envelopes both her and the orchid, the welp becomes completely startled never having seen so much power come out of any creature before. "Dam it I'm so far away and I still feel the pressure of all that power how can her body handle all of that." The pillar of green power grew stronger ass she continued to sing the welp could still feel the power off life coming from within the pillar, the light coming off from it was illuminating the whole clearing now as the sun was setting over the horizon.

"Oh little flower"

"I cant watch all your pain"

"I wont let you wither away"

"With all my power i will call upon rain and wash your sorrow away"

"I will call upon the sun and and brighten your day"

"So little flower wont you tell me your pain?"

As she sang these last few words the light seemed to condense around the orchid, as it started to grow much taller than before the golden parts of its petals seamed to illuminate in the night sky. This once small and insignificant orchid was now taller than the tree the welp was sitting in it instantly became the star of this clearing. The darkness only further showing off its wonderful petals, but the welp felt some thing strange within this orchid because their was still a strong sense of power emanating from within its core. This power frightened the welp and confused him as to how a plant could frighten him.

"I should probably leave right now before she notices me their's no telling wether this situation will turn deadly if I'm found." His body slowly got up from the branch he was siting on, unfolding his the welp hoped to silently glide from this tree and out of the clearing.

"Oh leaving so soon little one right after stuffing so many of my fruits down you glutinous maw, and watching me sing all afternoon not even a thank you before you leave." A genteel smile appeared on her lips as she summoned some vines from the tree the welp had been 'hiding' in from her.

The vines easily captured the welp the difference in their power's was far to great but to her surprise when she got a looked at the little rascal she was stunned to see he was a true dragon. What was more surprising was that he was a mix breed how he ended up in her forest she didn't know and how he even survived the persecution of the rest of his race was a greater mystery to her. The fact that his scales had two such contrasting colures gave away his identity right away to her, the smile on her face became softer as she looked at what was basically still a toddler trying to run away from her with all his might.

Mustering the friendliest face she could in a soft and nothing voice that could calm any one she asked "hello little one my names Rena whats yours"
