2. Sister (2)

July look around the hall with clenched fist and squinted her eyes upon landing her gaze to the woman in the midnight blue gown talking to a group of businessmen.

December… you still have the guts to come back here huh? I will let suffer once again then!

July look at the man beside her who is sipping his wine while waiting for the auction to begin.

"Honey, I wonder what my sister have for tonight's auction? I hope she does not disappoint us," she said and wrapped her arms around his.

"There's a catalogue," he answered making July's face red with embarrassment.

As she was about to reply, a group of ladies went to their table and greeted them.

"It's an honor to see you here, your highness. You're still as beautiful as ever. I am Monique Silvia, daughter of the Silvia Corporation's chairman," the lady who wore a light green gown who seems the leader of the group hailed and gave an ingratiating smile.

July smiled at them, "Yes. I am happy to see that my sister have made this achievement in her life."

The ladies near them all gasp in surprised at the princess' revelation. Who would have thought that the CEO of Precious Gems is a royalty?

They, of course, never missed the subtle ridicule behind the princess' words and realized that the sisters does not have a good relationship with each other.

"Yes. I never thought of Ms. December to be your sister, your highness. I have never seen her once in the gathering you have organized," Monique said implying that December must have been a disgrace for the royal family to not disclose her identity to the public.

July's mood was lifted up and answered her, "Well, my sister doesn't really like to be on the spotlight as she is afraid of embarrassing our parents in case things go wrong. Oh, please do not tell others of her identity yet."

The ladies agreed so as to have favor from the princess and silently sneered at December who was currently on her way to their area.

The smile on December's face still made them hold their breaths in admiration. Her beauty invite envy among the ladies, July included.

"Your highness, I hope you've been enjoying the night," December said and sat in front of the couple.

July forced a smile and answered, "Oh, I am unexpectedly having a good time."

"How about your partner then? I hope you are also having a good time here," December turned to the man beside her sister who gave a small smile.

July tightened her hold on Conrad and replied, "Well, Conrad has never really been fond of these type of gathering. It took me quite some time to convince him to attend with me since you will be having an auction. Speaking of it, I'm quite curious of the items to be auctioned. As you know, being a royalty, I need to set an example for others to follow."

December squinted her eyes and laugh softly as she reach for the catalogue that contains the items for the auction.

"I have made sure that every guest have a copy of the list of items in the auction. I think your highness never noticed it as the design of the cover it very simple."

Some of the girls tried their best to not laugh at the exchange of the sisters which did not escape the eyes of July who glared at the woman in front of her. So to hide her embarrassment, she opened the catalogue and browsed for a while.

"I cannot find anything that's interesting here, sister. Would you perhaps mind if I give a piece of my jewelry set for you to auction off?" July said and turned to one of her attendants who promptly placed a box on the table.

"It would be an honor to have one of your items for tonight's auction, you highness. Although it's last minute, I will let the auctioneer know of your item. Jean."

December called her assistant and gave the box without giving a glimpse of what is inside. "Please give it to Mr. Kohl and tell him the princess has donated it for the auction."

"Yes, mistress."

As December watch Jean walk away, she then stood up, "Well, the auction will begin soon. I hope that you will once take a look on the list thoroughly so as not to miss anything."

Gritting her teeth, July was about to throw the list away when Conrad held her hand and said, "Don't cause a scene in here, your highness."

"Tch."

December… I will not let this humiliation pass by.
