The weather was unusually hot today. As I stood by the window of the hotel room I'm staying in, I look at the colorful lights of the city where I lost everything. The city where I was born.. the city which I loved so much... in the past.

"Mistress, the guests have arrived."

I look at my assistant who handed me a mask that match my midnight blue gown.

I took it and covered my face, taking one last look at the city lights.

"Then let the party begin."

Yes. I loved this city once. Now I don't feel anything but pure hatred. The betrayal I have experienced here... I'll let them have a taste of what they have done to me.

Music fill the banquet hall of the Starlight Hotel. Different conversations ang the clinking of wine glasses could be heard all over as people socialize with each other to broaden their network.

The theme of the banquet is a masquerade ball which made the hall colorful with the different styles of gowns and masks.

The banquet has yet to start, yet December could see that the hall is already packed with the guests she have invited for the anniversary of her new jewelry business in City C. Tonight's banquet also include an auction where people will have a glimpse to the products Precious Gems will sell.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. We would like to welcome you to the anniversary of Precious Gems. Now, I would like to call our beloved CEO, Ms. December, for her opening remarks." The whole hall became silent as the emcee spoke.

All the guests turned to look at the side of the hall where a woman in her midnight blue gown and white mask that is accentuated with small diamonds on its side walk towards the stage. The woman silky white skin seems to glow in the spotlight and the small smile on her luscious red lips took the guests' breath away.

"Welcome everyone. I am very honored to have you here in the annual celebration of my humble business..." The whole crowd was mesmerized with the angelic voice that came out from the woman in the stage.

What a goddess!

Most of the guys look at her in admiration. Some girls gave the woman an envious look yet could not help but also admire December as she deliver her speech for everyone.

"Now please enjoy this evening everyone."

Clap clap clap

The whole hall resounded with applause for the December and she was swarmed with guests trying to curry her favor.

"You are so beautiful tonight Ms. December."

"I wonder of the jewelry you're wearing is part of the collection that you will launch tonight?"

December politely smiled and patiently answered their questions.

After a while, she was able to escape the crowd and went to a corner to rest for a while. All this facade is tiring for her.

"The guards outside said that he has arrived, Mistress," December's assistant whispered in her ear that made her smile.

"Very well. Let us welcome them then," she said and went towards the entrance of the banquet hall.

The door opened and the whole crowd once again fell into silence when they saw a pair of man and woman enter the hall.

The man wearing a black suit complimented with a silver tie and mask stood beside a woman with a silver gown that accentuate her figure well was accompanied by guards with crests all of them knew.

"It's the Princess and her fiancé!"

The people whispered among each other. Stunned to see that a royalty will come to the banquet of an ordinary company.

They have never expected that Ms. December have connections with the royal family of their country, thus garnering more admiration towards the woman.

December walk near the couple and curtsied in front of them.

"Thank you for gracing us with your presence your highnesses," she greeted which made the Princess smile proudly and beckoned for ger to stand up.

"Well, I am also honored to be invited in this banquet by my sister. I am quite curious as to how you conduct a banquet.. this is acceptable."

December smiled as her sister try to insult her behind the compliment.

"Well, this banquet is simply for the celebration of the success of my business. Though I think my sister will see this as petty, it is a big achievement for a humble me indeed," December replied and turned to her sister's fiancé, Conrad.

"I hope both you and my sister will have a good time. The auction will start after dinner."

"Mm." The man nodded and look at July, "Let's go."

July clenched her first in the side and glared at December who smiled at her.

My sister... you're still so dense as ever. December thought and gestured for the servers to serve dinner as the main characters of the event have arrived.
