1 Chapter 1: INTRODUCTION
Opening scene reveals a young-adult girl, of about (24-25) years old. Lying on her bed. then the alarm rings, and she stands up to start her day..
Sherry:( Stands up to get dressed, while giving an introduction to the audience) I'm Sherry Williams, I'm 24 years old, the first child of my family. My mom runs a mini restaurant, and I work for a small programming company. My younger brother Terry is still struggling with his college, life has really been hard for us, since dad left to get married to another woman. Everything had been difficult, but I've always lived by my principles, to never give up no matter what. Today is promotion day, and I'm hoping to get a promotion at work today. But before that, I have to get to work first, and as usual I'm late again (she rushes out of the house and starts running. she gets into a public bus, few minutes later she arrives at work) Thank Goodness! I'm not so late.
Mr Nick:(Boss of the programming company) Sherry!
Sherry: Oh! Boss Nick! Good morning.
Mr Nick: You're late Again!
Sherry: Sorry! Something came up! so...
Mr Nick: So nothing. You always have excuses can't you just take the responsibility for being late?
Sherry: Sorry Boss! I promise it won't happen again.
Mr Nick: Yes! it won't happen ever again because you're fired.
Sherry: What?.....(to the audience) And that's it, the so called promotion day because my day of being fired...Now I'm outside the streets just hovering around, I can't possibly go home now, because mom will know, and once she does, her heartache will act up again. She was so happy when I got this job, and she'll die of shock if I tell her I've been fired...so there's just one thing left to do now. (she brings out her phone and calls someone)
Jade: Hello!
Sherry: Hello Jade! I've been fired!
Jade: What? How?
Sherry: I don't know. I just happened to turn up late again and I got fired by Boss Nick.
Jade: What are you going to do now?
Sherry: I don't know Maybe I'll just look for another job, but for the meantime I need somewhere to go to, I can't go home now, my mom will be worried.
Jade: Oh! How about you come to my store now.
Sherry: Okay! I'll be there
few minutes later
Sherry: Jade!(she runs to hug her) I'm tired, where can I find another Job?
Jade: Don't worry everything will be fine, let's just think of something now.
Sherry: I'm hunger.
Jade: Oh! okay I'll get you something.
Sherry: Thank you! (Jade goes in and brings out a plate of Rice, and Sherry starts to eat like she had never eaten all her life.)
Jade: Gently Don't eat too much.
Sherry: Jade! I have to eat, otherwise I don't know when I'll be able to afford such a meal again.
Jade: How about I search out some online job for you?
Sherry: Can you?
Jade: Of course I can.
Sherry: Thank you.
Jade: (brings out her phone to search for online jobs) Woah..Look! " Sunshine Label" they are looking for intern, that will be paid"100" dollars just on their first three months.
Sherry: Really? Let me see(she collects the phone and sees it herself) Woahhhh... It's true. Apply for me now please.
Jade: But Sherry! Do you really want to work for SL you do know the CEO there right?
Sherry: I don't care who the CEO is, just apply for me.
Jade: But....
Sherry: (phone rings) Hello?
Caller: Hello is this Miss Sherry Williams?
Sherry: Yes!
Caller:(says something that isn't heard by the audience, just to Sherry alone)
Sherry:(stands up surprised) What?
AT SUNSHINE HIGH SCHOOL
Terry: Sister! Are you still mad at me?
Sherry: Why wouldn't I be, who told you to go fight with that kid? did you forget how you got into this school, it was a case of charity. you got her through a scholarship, and you should be grateful that you were able to attend such a prestigious school. why are you trying to throw it away?
Terry: Sister! I didn't want to fight with him, but he pushed me, he said my family and I are paupers, he even went ahead to see that nobody is going to marry you because of our bad luck he said you will never get a good man and we'll forever be poor.
Sherry: Still you shouldn't have fought with him. Terry! in the world of elites, we mean nothing. so don't always try to fight with those who abuse us.
Terry: But we don't deserve to be treated this poorly. It's not our fault that we're poor.
Sherry: Still! don't get into trouble because of what others say. If anything happens here, we have no one to support us wether you're right, or not you'll always be labeled as wrong, because you're not an elite. So stop it don't ever fight again.
Terry: Okay! I'll listen to you.
Sherry: Let's go home!
AT SL COMPANY
Noel Austin: (A Handsome rich guy of about 27 years old, and the official heir to SL company and other SL enterprises. He is known to have everything but a loving heart. Some call him, the Cruel Devil. Although he is Kind most times, he's also mercilessly cruel. He's cold and arrogant, and never cares about the feelings of anyone other than himself.) (He is seen wearing a Black Shinning and luxurious suit, with his black hair styled. He is sitting down on his executive customised chair in his office when his most trusted assistant worked in)
Kalvin: Mr Austin! Sir Austin is here.
Noel: What? Grandpa? bring him in. (Noel's grandfather Fredrick Austin, is the only living human that Noel respects and loves unconditionally, due to the fact that he's parents died when he was a child, and his grandfather raised him till he became the man he was. so not only did he respect his grandfather, he also feared and adored him) grandpa what are you doing here why didn't you tell me you were coming I could have asked Kalvin to pick you up
Grandpa: No need! I wanted to give you a surprise.
Noel: I'm really surprised. please sit.
Grandpa:(sits down)so how's everything in the company been so far?
Noel: everything is well, we've been working on a new project now, we signed the contract with Oliver Lane a famous actress show me the main cast for upcoming movie dreams.
Grandpa: I can see you're working hard I'm impressed. you're really good in the industry.
Noel: Thanks Grandpa! but grandpa what brings you here I'm very sure you didn't just come to ask about the company do you have any important issue to discuss with me?
Grandpa: I do I have a very important matter to discuss.
Noel: please come on I'm all ears.
Grandpa: Noel you know when your parents died 17 years ago you were just 10 years old I have trained you loved you and I had high expectations for you and you have never disappointed I am very proud of you. but the dream of every grandpa or parent is to see their child not yours prosper in Career but also in love Noel I want you to get married I know it might be so sudden and you have no one in mind it's ok I've already told Kalvin to set up blind dates for you just go there and pretty sure you have one person who will catch your eye.
Noel: but grandpa I'm not ready for marriage now. I have lots of things to accomplish in the company marriage will come later final I am very focused in the company I have no time for love.
Grandpa: but I can't wait I'm getting old I knew you'd say all these things about having big dreams for the company and blablabla..but you can also merge your love life with the company. Don't just put all your efforts and eyes into the company you also deserve a chance to find love and be loved Noel! I know you have never experienced Love before and you have no plans in the future, but just please fulfill the last wish of your grandpa and get married.
Noel: Fine! I'll think about it.
Grandpa:(thinking) You're still being stubborn right! okay, I'm afraid I have to use plan B (he stands up and starts leaving, then suddenly, he falls on the ground and collapses)
Noel:(Rushes to him) Grandpa! Grandpa! Kalvin! prepare the car.
AT LANE'S HOSPITAL
Noel: Doctor Lane how's Grandpa?
Doctor Lane: (A close friends to the Austin's family, and the father to the famous actress Olivia Lane) Noel! your grandpa's heart Problem has become more severe, I'm Afraid he can't last more than a year and half.
Noel: What? Doctor Lane, Isn't there another way? like a surgery?
Doctor Lane: No! he's body isn't strong enough to hold a surgery I'm afraid you just have to stay good to him for the remaining years he has to live. And fulfill all his wishes.
Noel: Okay! I understand. Thank you Doctor Lane! (Doctor Lane leaves, and Noel goes to sit with his grandfather
Grandpa:(tries to stand up) Eh..I fell so weak!
Noel: No! don't, don't stand up. Lie still.
Grandpa: It's great that you're taking care of me, but I know it would be more Wonderful if my granddaughter was the one taking care of me.
Noel: Grandpa! Don't worry, I promise you, I'll go on blind dates And get married.
Grandpa: (in an excited tone) Really?
Noel: Hmm...
Grandpa: Well that's wonderful. Great news. Kalvin! hurry up Go and prepare everything needed for tomorrow's blind date.
Kalvin: Okay! (he leaves)
Grandpa: (smiles at Noel happily)
Next Day
At a luxurious restaurant
Noel: Hi! I'm Noel Austin Ceo of.....
Gina: I know who you are, you don't have to make formalities between us.
Noel: Good! well as you can see, I'm a very successful person, and I have all it takes to get married to you. All you have to do it to date me for a couple of weeks and then we'll get married.
Gina: No need!
Noel: What?
Gina: No need for us to date. let's just get married.
Noel: But...
Gina: Ain't you in need of a wife urgently, you shouldn't be complaining.
Noel: (thinking) What a desperate lady. No! even if it's a contract marriage I still have to pick someone with a good attitude and not as desperate as this. (to Gina) Sorry Miss Gina! But I don't think it will work out for us.
Gina: Why not?
Noel: It just won't. Sorry! but you have to leave now,my other partners are coming. (she walks out angrily...And it goes on like that Now keeps finding excuses to dismiss the blind dates and just like that, he dismissed 10 ladies)
Kalvin: Mr Austin! Ain't you tired? you've been rejecting blind dates since morning. why don't you just find one and get married it's not like it's going to be a real marriage anyways.
Noel: Wether is going to be a real marriage or not I still have to find a perfect person besides not only will I spend a year and half with her, she also has to give me a baby since my grandpa is so desperate about having a grandchild and I can't just pick anyone for that job I have to find the perfect person.
Austin: But if you go on like this you'll never be able to find anybody you've dismissed 10 ladies already.
Noel: let's go we'll come back again tomorrow I'm very sure that tomorrow we'll have more progress. (they left)
AT SL ENTERTAINMENT
Sherry: Hello! my name is Sherry Williams and I'm here for my interview. I applied for an online recruitment yesterday and surprisingly, I was told to come for an interview today.
Receptionist: Sorry, but our boss isn't around now. You'll have to come back tomorrow.
Sherry: But I spent a lot of money coming here. Please allow me go in.
Receptionist: Sorry, but I really can't help you our boss isn't around and I don't think you'll be able to wait for him
Sherry: Don't worry doesn't matter I'm going to wait! I have nothing else to do Anyways..
Receptionist: Butt...
Ning: (the handsome middle-aged man about same age with Noel, handsomely dressed, with luxurious clothes. he has a peaceful and can appearance just like his name just by one glance one can tell that he was a rich man) Sherry!
Sherry: (turns to see who it is) You are...
Ning: Don't you remember me? its me Ning! We attended high school together, back then I was always your seatmate in art class.
Sherry: (finally recalls who he was) oh Noel brother! how have you been?
Ning: I've been alright, what about you?
Sherry: I'm quite good.
Ning: I noticed you submitted your job application as soon as I saw your name I recognised you. That's why I asked you to come to interview so quickly.
Sherry: Really? Thank you.
Ning: No problem.
Sherry: So! are you the one to interview me?
Ning: No it's Noel.
Sherry: Noel? Does he also work here?
Ning: What do you mean? Work here? He owns the place...
Sherry:(shocked) What??????....
