1 Chapter 1

It felt like he woke up from a long, long slumber as soon as his eyes opened.

Small drops of water continuously fell down across his face as his consciousness was slowly returning to himself. The little boy was breathing hard, catching up what seemed like years of inability to cramp his lungs with the earthly air.

Something felt weird and off with his very existence.

He's lying down in the middle of the road, staring at the darkening sky above him.

The asphalt smelled strong and his back felt cold.

His throat was slowly drying until it was finally getting a little numb with all the minutes he's stalling, thinking of a way to somehow function in this new world he conceived from upshot.

"What is happening right now?" He started asking himself. "Who am I? What was I supposed to do in this strange situation? Where am I?

...Do I really have to live and search for the reason why?"

Although he couldn't remember anything, there was a looming desire that faintly lingered across his flesh. Something he couldn't stop from releasing a weak scent of urge to get up and have things started immediately.

But what was he supposed to know in the first place?

He had no clue at all.

He was gradually realizing that maybe he lost his memories somewhere.

He tried feeling up every inch of his body and realized his head was slightly throbbing from pain. His heart was beating unsteadily, rapidly and slowly. And scarily, it would feel like it's tempted to stop.

Every time that fear shoots up his head, he'd unconsciously breathe in as if inhaling the strength to let his internal organs move along with his own slow pacing. He wanted to be in control, but he was helpless.

His arms were almost numb, his legs were aching, and his eyes were almost falling off.

Soon, he decided to carefully look around aside from the skies he's been observing for a while already. The gray clouds that'd soon shower heavy rainfall didn't feel as satisfying to him either.

His head went sideward, both ways. Despite the blurs that hindered his vision, he knew fairly well what was laid around him.

Across his right, there was a vast, plain field of healthy crops.

The distance was etched with grassy hills, heaps of trees along the forestry, and a peaceful space.

On his left was a nearby house built of sturdy woods that seemed like a fairly warm shelter.

Seeing such a hopeful haven, he couldn't help but notice the coldness he had been enduring all this time. His skin was getting wounded with an almost gentle breeze.

It was cruel, but soft and weak, yet strong.

He was about to get up when a familiar voice suddenly echoed across his brain.

"Uriel, Uriel," It repeatedly said. "Uriel, Uriel, Uriel."

The name continuously played on repeat inside his head and it felt like it would make him deaf.

The boy tried shutting off his ears with both his palms, but it was futile.

After all, the voice was coming from within and not anywhere going through him.

It was already implanted deep down and unless he claws his insides to flip it out, nothing will stop.

He wanted to cry, but was too caught up with the pain.

"Uriel," The voice went on. "Your name is Uriel."
