12 Chapter 12

The boy was left in his own thoughts and doubts.

It was awkward to prepare the table set few hours later and more so while eating dinner together.

The old woman wasn't chatty at that time anymore, so the silence grew uncomfortable at the boy's skin. But he was able to endure and get through it anyway.

After he was left alone again, he attempted sleeping, but failed for countless times.

He glanced at the wall clock and saw that it was still in the middle of the night.

He let out a sigh and pulled out the courage to decide on what to do.

After gathering up his resolve, he stood up like a man preparing to plunge into a battlefield, grabbed the flashlight lying on a small, wooden table, and went outside.

He bravely walked through the crops and into the forest to find himself back at the azure ghost he made a deal with few nights ago.

It was a bit of a long stride, but when he finally saw the white cloth that served as a 'border,' he felt a sense of achievement. The darkness behind him seemed so insignificant compared to when he first went in here.

He swayed his flashlight around to search for the azure ghost until it flickered unsteadily.

The flashlight shook tremendously and finally dropped itself to the ground as if it had its own life.

When the boy heard the soft, yet screeching sound from afar, his hair stood up at the ends until a blue azure flame exploded at the branch of a tree in front of him.

There, he saw the azure ghost looking horribly angry. "You insolent, lying, disobedient boy! You dared break off your promise with me?!"

Uriel gasped in shock and fell down when his knees gave up.

Even with a bit of knowledge about the ghost, it still didn't fail to scare him until now. It isn't their first time to meet, so he thought that he should get himself together and deal with it now.

"I-I'm really sorry for not staying true to my promise. I just wanted to know something. Please forgive me."
