"Xander, I am sorry. I really had no idea you were who I had been dreaming about. I only had your name he never gave me a photo. All Lucian told me was that an attack was coming and they wanted you dead and the Vampire elders could not stop them. So I called Axel and Kostas and had them find a way to warn you." I try to get Xander to understand but it seems all he can see is the ghost of the battle that killed alost 200 pack members and 100 humans.

"Who wanted the attack?" Xander ask

"I don't know. But I have a feeling it was Marcus." I say

"It was, But I heard he is dead now." Lucian says as he walks into the kitchen.

"But why, He was my brother we grew up together." Xander says.

"He was not your brother. Just a kid down the road from us." Lucian says.

"Right, becuase you didn't knock up his mother. If I remeber right she was very pretty." Xander smirks at his father.

"I was not his father. Yes I fucked his mother a few times but she was already pregnant." Lucian says throwing his hands in the air.

"Down boys. No body asked you to mesure your dicks." I say. Xander almost laughs but chooses not to. Lucian rolls his eyes at me and shakes his head.

"I just don't get why he would want me dead." Xander says. Just then a knock on the door startles us.

"I'll get it. It will give you two time to decied who has the bigger cock anyway." I smirk as I walk out to answer the door.

"Why did he do it pop? What did I do to him?" I ask

"I think he was alway wanted to be you. Do you not remember that young werewolf he was in love with? She rejected him and after that he changed. I think he hated that you were both and that you could have a wolf or a vampire. Then when Nyx was born he made sure he was close to her at all times. When she joined the Marines and took off it pissed him off. He could not keep her were he wanted her anymore. Attacking you would keep her away or so he thought." Lucian explains as he slaps my back.

"I really did miss you son. I shouldn't have stayed away. And just for the record I had no Idea Nyx was like you. She did not smell like you nor did she move like you." She honestly seemed all werewolf. If I had known I would have told you. I would give anything to find another mate." He says with sadness in his eyes.

"No need, I found her. and no she isn't like me. She is more powerful. I think its because of who her father and mother are." I say trying to figure out who is here.

"It could be. Your mother was not an alpha. I at the time was way younger and not as strong as I am now. I doubt that has anything to do with it. I think its just her spirit." He says. I nod in agreement. Just then Nyx and a man I do not know walk in the door. He is human but seems to know Nyx well.

"Xander, this is Victor. He was my grandmothers mate. She was killed before he had made the choice to be turned or not. They had only just met a few months before." Nyx explains.

"I just wanted to say hi, I had heard she was here and its nice to see someone who I can freely talk too." He says.

I shake his hand. He looks to be in his 40's with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a muscular build but from farming not working out. He is shorter than I am I would say he is about 6'2". I see pain in his eyes. I feel bad for him.

"I need to get going now. I just wanted to say hi. I hope I did not intrude." He says.

"Not at all feel free to visit any time." I say as Nyx leads him back out the way he came in.

"He is the first human I have read in a long time that actually is what they apear to be." Lucian says.

"That and he figured out we are the reason he keep loosing a few cows." I say making a note to talk to Kostas and make sure we have our own farms to hunt.

"I need food." Nyx says as she walks in.

"You eat more than 10 men combined." Lucian says.

"How do you know?" I asked in shock

"She would would kill anyone they told her too for more food." Lucian says. Nyx wrinkles her nose and shakes her head.

"Lets go to town and get some food. I don't feel like cooking." I say and I lead both my mate and father out the door.

As we walk to the cafe I can't help but feel shock that the same women who would kill so easily is my sons mate. I only told him of one mission she has done for me. My fear is if he knew that for the last 10 years I have been using her skills to kill vampires and werewolves who had gone rogue he would kill me. I really had no idea she was like him though. I feel so stupid for not knowing. She is silent and can kill with ease. I was never with her when she would complete her missions but I knew she would get them done quick. Now I know why.

"You think to loud." Nyx says as she elbows me. Xander seems surprised. He must have been focused on his own inner thoughts otherwise I may be a dead man.

"Stay the fuck out of my head." I order. Slightly annoyed.

"Then don't think so damn loud. I don't like hearing your thoughts." She says rolling her eyes.

"Can't help It. Just shocked at who you turned out to be." I try to sound relaxed but I just can't seem to shake the guilt of not knowing who she was.

"Why does it bother you so much that I am Xanders mate?" she ask.

"I am not bothered by it. I just wish I would have known so he wouldn't of had to wait a moment longer to find you." I say and meaning every word.

Once we get to the cafe we order our food and eat in silence. It seems we have said about all we want to at this point. Nyx also looks tired. When I push into her mind I see why she wanted me to stop thinking about the past. I brought up the memories she was trying to hide. The monster she can't keep down. The one thing young wolves have issues with is the rage that comes with being who they are. Add the wild side of a pure bread vampire and it can make for a mess. Xander was hell back then and It took me and his mother to keep him in line. So far she is way stronger than she realizes.

"You did what you had to." I say to her. Trying to calm the anger she is feeling for herself. I look at Xander and push into his mind to tell him she is fighting the anger. His eyes turn purple as he uderstands what she is going through.

"You need to shift later. It will help." Xander says.

"No, I have not shifted in 3 years I plan on keeping it that way." Nyx says and the anger in her voice is thick.

"You will shift tonight. I demand that you do so." Xander says and for the first time I can see he is fit to be an Alpha his voice is strong and demanding. But Nyx does not take to being told what to do well.

"No, I cant, I wont. You do not know what it is like." she says. I can see fear in her eyes.

"Nyx, you forget who I am. I know exactly what it is like. I damn near killed him several times trying to fight the anger. I was 100 before I got the wolf under control. You already have her under control more than I did." Xander says as he holds her hands in his.

"Fine" is all she says before getting up and walking away.
