1 Welcome To A New World

My name is Landon Liri and I am the most average person you could ever meet. Every day, I'd wake up, go to school, get average grades, and go home, take part in one of my few hobbies, and repeat. My days are filled with repetition as I never once veered away from what I do every day.

However, that came to a screeching halt the day I decided to change what I do ever so slightly.

I left my house five minutes early, you never know how much just 5 minutes can change your life or even end it.

As I was driving, I came to a stop sign and did the usual stop, look both ways, I saw nothing so hit the gas. Then, I spotted a car that was making its way towards me. At the time I assumed they would stop like any normal person and paid it no mind.

Oh, boy was I wrong.

I was just about halfway through the stop sign when the driver who I presumed would follow the laws had decided to be a massive dick and kill me by speeding his car into the driver side door.

Some people would be lucky and survive this incident with nothing more than a slight cut. I'm not some of those people. You could say I died nearly instantly if you think that an entire minute of torturous like pain is an instant.

When I finally did die, I came to after a bit of time in heaven like area with a person wearing robes in front of me.

"I'm sorry to say this, but you've died...." The mysterious man said.

My eyes widened and I quickly responded with, "That's not possible!? Where am I!?"

'If I was dead, I wouldn't be here right now right!?'

The man chuckled slightly, "Well you see, I might've killed you by accident and now you're here with me in heaven… My bad."

My face contorted in anger for a quick second before I thought things through and calmed down.

"I'm guessing there's nothing you can do about it now?"

The man smiled again, "No… No there is not. However, I can offer you up a deal that you might like. Instead of just sending you off to the reincarnation cycle, how about I send you to another world?"

I closed my eyes and thought about all the possibilities. As I was thinking about them, I just continuously nodded my head. After a second, I opened my eyes and yelled to man, "I AGREE!"

The man just nodded his head.

"Ok, then I'll send you to the other world, but first, let me give you a gift. What is it that you would like?"

I responded instantly.

"I would like a personal dimension to store anything I want, the ability to learn all magic nearly instantly, and to have a system!"

The man just continued to nod but decided to rub his chin too for some reason even though he didn't have a beard.

"That can be done." He said

He continued to stare me in the eyes as he snapped his fingers and made me slowly start to disappear into different colored particles of light.

"You'll be arriving on the planet Verathal very shortly. Live your life to the best that you can. Stay safe."

And then I was gone.

The next thing I knew was that I appeared in some sort of forest with a bunch of hills and caves. I could tell it was getting dark but I couldn't help taking in the world around me the air fresher than I ever thought possible, plants with atypical colors, and not a single hint of human civilization in sight. Avoiding the issue of how lost I am and remembering that without food and shelter I would probably die, I steeled myself for any other fateful encounters and looked around.

As I searched around, I did not once think about my powers, I was still on a weird excitement high about everything that just happened. Once it finally went away and I came to my senses, I realized that I should attempt to use my powers.

"Uhhhhh, System!"

Nothing.

"Status!"

Nothing.

"Go go cheat mode!"

Nothing.

I continued for a good while until I just started cursing in my head thinking maybe god had cheated me out of my Isekai wish.

'Stupid fucking shitty God where's my system-'

A white screen appeared in front of me.

'Oh I guess it just needed a second to boot up, sorry God, please don't smite me!'

After waiting a few seconds to make sure I hadn't pissed off a deity, I reached out my hand in an attempt to touch it but my hand slipped right through.

'Weird.'

On the screen in front of me were the words shop, status, and quest.

I once again attempted to touch one of the words or even the screen of the system but my hand once again slipped right through it.

'Right… gotta stop doing that.' I thought, shrugging off my bout of stupidity.

'Store?' I questioned mentally.

The screen then opened up and grew slightly. The three options on it changed and displayed thousands upon thousands of items. One of the first things mentioned in the store was a [Piece of Paper {1 Point}].

"In this life, nothing is free," I said sighing, I hope books don't cost a point per page

I scrolled through it and everything in existence was here. Whether it be made up, virtual, imaginary, or anything else. As long as I have enough points it looks like, then I'll be able to buy it. And to my surprise, the price drops on books considerably.

'The cost must come from popping the page into existence' Thinking I was getting the hang of this.

At the top right part of the screen, was a simple number that listed {500 System Points}. Using this as the maximum amount that I should spend for the night, I quickly looked through to find something to help me survive. After a bit of scrolling, I came to the perfect item.
