6 Blood Ran Stale

Nadir I've been; Nadir shall I go?

Lurking into the depths of despair made me realize how fragile people were. The emotions that tangle us all tend to keep us from moving forward, even dragging us down, making us linger in our own lunatic concoctions. Emotions can be our best ally and so our greatest foe. From this day forth, I shall use it carefully to maneuver myself through the draggled path I planned to head on.

Dressed in my finest garb, I entered the casino, a perfect hunting place for shabby prey. My first target was a multi-millionaire, Andrei Martin.

"Good evening, ma'am! May I see your invitation, please?" the usher asked as I stepped into the building.

I smiled sweetly at the man then I showed my purple invitation card with intricate letterings of my name in gold.

Satisfied, he led me inside a grand casino flooded by patrons, playing Blackjack, Poker, and hundreds of slot machines.

"Thank you," I politely said. I even gave him a cheek kiss, to his surprise.

"That's for being so kind," I whispered. I felt his face blush. I smirked at the back of my head.

"Whenever you need me, m' lady!" he replied, allowing him to kiss the back of my hand like a true gentleman. I slightly nodded before I turned, showing the phoenix tattoo on my back.

"Good evening, gentlemen!" I greeted as I sat down at the exact opposite of Andrei. They all looked at me, all pleased but gave me a questioning look. One of them asked me to leave.

"I'm afraid you're not allowed to stay here. This is a private place," he said.

"Oh, is that so? Pardon my intrusion," I apologized in my sultry voice. Then I hastily stood, dropping my pouch. It was unzipped, causing my lipstick and my wallet to roll on the table.

"Watch it!" the man next to me exclaimed as he helped me pick up my wallet.

Then, I reached for the lipstick that had rolled farther, deliberately bending low to reveal my cleavage to the men in front of me while showing the roundness of my butt to those behind me. I heard them gasp. Some even gulped. Then, I met Andrei's fervent eyes. Even with a straight face, I knew he was full of desires. My inner goddess smiled triumphantly.

"Oh, gosh! So, sorry about the mess," I overactingly said. "Very well then, good night, gentlemen!"

I heard Andrei clear his throat and then excused himself probably to release the heat consuming him.

"That was easy," I told myself as I mingled with the people, drunken by their gambling addiction, flirting, chatting. After thirty minutes or so, I decided to get out and move to a bar next block.

As I was going out, the usher spotted me. He waved jovially like a teenage boy. I smiled.

"Uhm... I have a message for you," he said, waving a piece of paper and handing it to me. I stared at the paper and then back at his face.

"What's this?"

"A handsome guy gave it to me. I don't know what's in it, but I know it's important. He was adamant about giving this to you as soon as I find you," he explained. I slowly opened the letter as he waited excitedly for me to reveal the content.

"So, what did he say?"

After reading and sliding the letter into my pouch, I smiled at him sweetly.

"Nothing. He just wanna know my name," I said. He looked disappointed.

"Well, with your charm, I bet he was hooked immediately, too!"

I giggled.

"You're charming!" I whispered before leaving him to die fantasizing.

I went straight to the bar and ordered one shot of whiskey. I enjoyed listening to the live band playing on a makeshift stage.

"No pretty woman should be drinking alone," a man said. Startled, I turned to see Andrei, looking so deliciously handsome behind me.

"Sorry?" I smirked. He chuckled, showing his dimples and sets of perfect teeth.

"Give me a shot of her drink," he told the bartender, who immediately obliged.

"It's now or never," I reminded myself so I pulled the last string of my act to lure him deeper. I saw a man sitting alone in a corner. I smiled as I approached him, leaving Andrei grunting.

"Hi, are you alone?" I asked the startled man. He looked at me as if hallucinating and nervously fidgeted on his seat.

"It's okay. Do you wanna dance, handsome?" I urged, feeding his ego. He relented after a moment of thinking.

What a timing!

The live band finished playing and a DJ went onstage, blasting his techno music in the room. The bar instantly turned into a club. The lights were shut off and replaced by neon lights. We hit the dance floor, grooving with every beat.

"Sorry, man!" the man said when he bumped into another person dancing.

It was Andrei! And he's flirting with a woman dancing erotically in front of him. I rolled my eyes. Then wrapped my arms around my partner's neck and began dancing sexily. I turned around, grinding my butt on his crotch. He moaned.

I was pretty sure Andrei heard it because at the moment our eyes met, there was fire and it looked dangerous. Thank goodness the music changed. It gave me the chance to excuse myself and go to the restroom.

"Thanks for the dance! I enjoyed it a lot," I said. He looked so disappointed and angled to get my number but I was quick to cut him off and I hurried out. I felt so relieved when I finally stepped out of the bar. My body was sweating with all the dancing and drinking.

After filling my lungs with fresher air, I immediately grabbed a taxi. I felt really exhausted. But, instead of a taxi, a black MB stopped in front of me. I stared at the tinted window as it was rolled down.

It's him!

"Need a ride?!" he asked.

"No!"

"C'mon, it's starting to rain. Hop in. I'll drive you home," he insisted. To his delight, the rain started to pour. And to my disappointment, no available taxi passed. Seemed that luck wasn't in my favor at that time.

"So, where should we go?" he asked.

"Just drop me at the hotel about 5 kilometers away," I replied. Then he silently drove until we arrived at the hotel where I was staying.

"Thank you," I said shyly.

"You're welcome," he replied.

I stopped walking and turned around when I noticed that he wasn't leaving. For a moment, our eyes locked, reciprocating the heat and need.

"Uhm... do you want some coffee? Tea?" I asked.
