2 Chapter 2 - Gift and Inheritance

Chapter 2 – Gift And Inheritance

The suit guy did not look like a bad guy. He looked sophisticate and smart. Also, he was not his father. Mark knew how his father looked like, and his father would never visit him.

Mark walked slowly to his home. When he got closer, he asked, "Who are you? Why are you waiting in front of my house?"

The man glanced at Lucas. He looked at Lucas from top to below and nodded lightly. "You look just like your picture," the man spoke while smiling. He took out a name card and handed it to Mark.

Mark felt the guy did not have a bad intention and took the card.

"Bobo… a lawyer?" Mark was surprised. More so, with the guy's name. It was a simple name.

"I am Bobo. My name may sound funny, but I am a lawyer. Specifically, your father's lawyer," Bobo spoke.

"…" Mark was silent. He did not know if what Bobo said was the truth. Why would his father send a lawyer to him?

"No need to get suspicious. Your father sent me here. You have a few documents you need to sign if you want your gift. I am here to pass on the gift to you," Bobo spoke while smiling. It was his professional smile.

Since Mark was Bobo's boss' son, he needed to be nice and smiley.

"… What kind of gift that needs my sign?" Mark spoke. All the gifts his father had sent him before did not need him to sign anything. He did need to sign the delivery slip, but there was no need for a lawyer to be present.

"We will discuss it inside. Can I come in?" Bobo spoke while gesturing at Mark's home.

Mark was a bit reluctant to let a stranger inside his home. Although Bobo claimed to be his father's lawyer, Mark was not sure if he was telling the truth.

Seeing Mark's reluctant face, Bobo added, "What you need to sign is important. I cannot let you do it in an open area like this." Bobo looked serious.

Mark decided to let him in. He took out his home key from his pocket. It was a card key, and he scanned in on the door. Mark opened the door and invited Bobo inside.

Bobo got in, and he observed the house. The house was clean, and it did not look like a teenager's home at all.

'A clean freak?' thought Bobo.

Mark led him to the living room. He let Bobo sat on the sofa, and Mark went to the kitchen to prepare drinks for Bobo.

As Bobo sat on the sofa and while waiting for Mark, he took out a few documents and put in on the coffee table. He flipped and checked the documents while waiting for Mark.

A few minutes later, Mark came to the living room with a tray of sweet drinks and some cookies. Mark set the drinks and cookies on the table and sat opposite of Bobo.

"Well then, let's start," Bobo spoke, and he continued. "You know your father is super rich, right?" Bobo asked.

"… Yes. Why are you asking? His wealth has nothing to do with me," Mark spoke.

"You are right about that. Since you already know about it, I don't need to worry about you being surprised with his gift," Bobo smiled.

"Is it an expensive item? Motorcycle? Car?" Mark asked. All this time, the gifts he got from his father were the most recent gadget. Mostly useful for his studies.

Since he just graduated and would enter College soon, having a motorcycle or a car would be helpful for his travel. It would be easy for him to move around in College.

Bobo smiled, and he said, "He is a bit nicer this time. Maybe because this is your graduation day, so, he gave a bit more to you. Those two are on the list."

"More… and there is a list too," Mark mumbled, and his face frowned. He did not hate getting gifts but getting too many of them were burdensome. More so when he got it from someone, he was not close to.

They might be related by blood, but they were not close enough for Mark to receive many expensive gifts.

"No need to get tense. He does this because he loves you," Bobo smiled, but Mark did not believe that. He might feel responsible for Mark but not because of love. Mark talked with him a few times on the phone, and Mark knew from his father's voice that there was no love.

"Well then, here is the list of the things he gives you for your graduation gifts," Bobo handed the list of gifts Mark's father had prepared for him. Mark read the list, but he was not impressed.

The list proves that his father was rich, but all of them were just money without any meaning. What love? He was flaunting his wealth to Mark.

"All of the gifts listed there is yours. You will need to sign the document as proof of the ownership," Bobo spoke.

"I don't need this many cars. How many are these? Ten?" Mark spoke. There were ten cars prepared by his father. From commercial car to sports car, they were within the ten cars listed there.

"Also, I don't need this many houses… no, these villas are too much for me," Mark spoke. Yes, his father gifted him with three villas, and each of them cost hundreds of millions.

"Also… helicopter and boats?" Mark frowned. That was too much. He could not drive them, and it was a waste to give it to him.

"All of this is yours. Even if you refuse, they will still be yours. All of them is under your name. They are your properties," Bobo replied. "If you don't want them, you can sell them and use the money to buy anything you like. That is what your father told me, and he did not mind it."

Mark would never do that. It was a gift, and it was a bad manner to sell them for money. Still, all these properties were problematic. He was by himself, and there was no way for him to be able to manage them all.

"Accept these gifts. You don't need to worry about the villas and vehicles unattended because your father had prepared people to take care of them. If you want to use the cars, boats and helicopter, you need to call my number, and I will order them to deliver it to you," Bobo explained.

"Do I need to take all of this?" Mark asked.

"You have to, or your father will cry," Bobo spoke shamelessly.

No way he will cry,' Mark snorted.

"Anyway, you just need to sign this document, and that's it," Bobo gave the document to Mark. "Even if you refused, all of these will still be yours."

Mark sighed, and he asked another question. "How about this 'College Backdoor Admission' coupon?" This thing was the most problematic of all.

Mark knew what this meant. No matter which College he chose, his father would do something at the back to make sure he succeeded in attending the College.

Mark was also worried that his father would do something for his College Admission even when he refused the coupon. All in all, he had a feeling that his admission would be unfair.

"That thing is as you thought. You could attend any College you want if you used the coupon. You can refuse that if you want. Your father only put it there if you need it," Bobo explained.

"I don't want this. I want to get into a College fair and square," Mark decided.

"Sure, we will exclude that," Bobo agreed.

"So, all of these will still be mine?" Mark asked, and Bobo nodded. Mark took a pen and decided to sign it and accepted them all. Be that as it may, he would use only one car which looked the most normal because it was useful.

As for the sports car, boats and helicopter, he would never use them. He would just let them be. Mark was a student and did not need boats and helicopter. One car was enough.

"Sign here and here," Bobo pointed at the space where Mark needed to sign. A few minutes later, all the documents were signed by Mark. All of them were now his property.

"So, that's it right?" Mark asked.

"There is one more thing," Bobo spoke, and he took out another document.

"What is it this time? A plane?" Mark spoke.

"How do you know? Are you a psychic?" Bobo spoke, and Mark was frozen.

"…"

"Is it a plane?" Mark did not believe it.

"Hahaha, I am just joking," Bobo laughed. "It is not a plane but almost the same. This document is for you to obtain the VVVVIP card that you can use in any airline company to receive the best treatment when taking a plane. Not only that, all of your flying fees are waived."

"…" Mark was speechless again. That was so unnecessary.

"You can refuse this. Your father does not mind it, and nothing will happen," Bobo added.

"Then, I will not sign it," Mark spoke, but Bobo still put the document on the table. He opened the document and asked Mark to sign it.

"… I thought I don't need to sign it," Mark was confused.

"This is a different document. I know you will not sign the VVVVIP card document, so I did not take out the document. This document is for a different thing," Bobo spoke, and he looked serious.

"What is this?" Mark asked.

"This is the inheritance your mom and grandpa left for you," Bobo spoke, and Mark was shocked.

Mark never thought that his mom and grandpa left something else for him. When his grandfather passed away, he left the house for him and now there were more?

"The truth is, this inheritance if your mom's alimony when your parents divorced but your mom refused it. Your dad still put it under your mom's name, but then, she passed away. This inheritance falls on you, but you are underage, and it falls to your grandfather until you graduate school," Bobo explained.

"This is the time, and your mom's inheritance is now yours," Bobo spoke.

Mark read the document, and he was shocked, stunned and surprised. The inheritance was a Grade D island.
