Carrot On Weighing Scale
Tbh, it started off good and intriguing, with him experimenting and learning more about his powers/vampire identity while still having to deal with the political mess that comes with being reincarnated into a Baron's son. His character gradually didn't become my cup of tea but one thing about him is that he's determined to accomplish his goal no matter the cost. Now, I would be fine with the storyline if at around 130 chapters or so, he didn't choose to cheat. Like he literally keeps a powerful mistress because he wants to use their heir to consolidate his power. That's my bottomline. I was already a bit put off with the FL appearing so early into the story only to not be the only one. He didn't feel an ounce of guilt and First FL is just naive and treated like/is a powerful flower vase in my opinion. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but this is a common trope in male-centered (and authored) novels that annoys me. It's already steering towards a harem for me. I guess I should have read the tags before starting the novel.Only staying for the political plot and more discoveries about his bloodline powers.
When considering a word to sum up this novel, the word, lame, comes to mind. The initial performance wasn't bad. I had high hopes, but the experience was a letdown. A vampire story that is loaded with political intrigue that isn't intriguing at all. Also, it was filled with super annoying females, and a very slow to develop, and lacking MC. I just don't feel like there is any good climax, and it falls flat. I even looked elsewhere to skim over 100 chapters to see if there is an improvement in the story. Nope, still lots of inept attempts at political intrigue and annoying females. ๐ Not my kind of story.
It's the most interesting novel of this batch so I hope it will be picked. It's just that in 40 chapters we see a lot of disadvantages of being a vampire, but the only advantage he has is that he is a relatively harder to kill. (+ he can barely raise his knight level through drinking special and difficult to get kind of blood) MC doesn't have any canonical powers, so he can only barely be called a vampire not to mention a progenitor.
Translation Quality: No complaints. Story Development: My Lord where to begin. Dear Author you have floored me. I am truly impressed and blessed to read a novel with this level of work put into it. 400 pages later I'm here writing this to say thank you before I continue to read. Character Design: Author utilized main and side characters to push the story/narrative in a beautiful way. Twist and turns through the story and the situation they find themselves in cause characters to make serious choices with serious consequences, the plot thickens and the author knows how to keep ones attention. What you may have thought was the death of a important enemy, was merely a illusion the author created to distract you. Updating Stability: I binged 400 pages. I cannot downvote this masterpiece for the authors inability to produce more content. "Yet." I'm greedy and want more Author. Deal with the problem your success has brought you. World Background: Constantly expanding, immersive, wonderfully laid out, my attention grasped tightly. Keep it up and Good luck. I'll update my review at a later date.
A decent read. Acceptable world building, generic but not bland protagonist, side characters with the ability to think a bit, seemingly well thought out power systems and an interesting premise. This could go sideways later on but it's looking fairly promising right now. Despite being a bit basic, this is probably as good as it's going to get on this site. I like the potential, concept, story and worldbuilding because I think they could be rather interesting so this gets a high score. It's always nice when my depressingly low expectations are actually exceeded for once. 3.25/5.
