76 End of the exam

Ryan seeing the dungeon beasts appeared out of thin air didn't waste time to attack. Knowing speed help with the results, he hastily close the distance. Once he got close enough he used mountains slash while suppressing the beast with his element.

A moment later a beast head fell onto the white floor tiles before disappearing in a blinding light. Making Ryan wonder was the beast real or not.

Only a couple seconds had passed until a rank 2 beast showed up. The beast was an average looking beast you would expect to see living in a group. It was a dirty brown, greenish color and walked on 2 legs. It had sharp claws, with large k9 fangs and was smaller than an average adult.

He ran towards ryan and was quick on its feet. But its movements made it very easy to predict its attacks.

Ryan used his floating steps to swiftly evade the beast attacks and used his aura to increase its weight at the right time. It had made the beast lose its balance, allowing Ryan the time to perform a surprise attack.

Beast are naturally more physically stronger than humans. So the fact its rank higher than Ryan and its stronger, weighing it down is only useful at helping with a surprise attack.

The beast didn't react fast enough to fully dodge the attack. Ryan managed to injure it severely. The beast tried to back away from Ryan but he used flash steps to close the distance. Not giving the beast enough time to collect himself, Ryan stab the sword through the beast eye into its head.

Pulling the sword out, Ryan step back waiting on the next beast. The beast disappeared and a rank3 beast took its place. It was a large tan muscular beast with 4 arms. It had a extra long tail and the tip of the tail looked extremely sharp.

Ryan seeing it knows he can't afford to get close to it so he ran circles around it. The beast just roar and kept its eyes on Ryan. Ryan threw a few throwing knives and the beast was alot quicker than he appears.

He accelerated towards the path Ryan was about to cross and making Ryan miss his attack at the same time. Ryan wasn't to surprised by the beast movements and jumped up. While in the air he switch to his long sword.

The beasts seeing Ryan in the air actually made a fist and let mana build up in it. Ryan sensing the attack realized he is in mid air and can't dodge. Ryan had expected the beast to stay on the ground and watch him or get closer to him to attack.

If the beast had stayed still Ryan would of been fine. If he attack at close range Ryan would of used his sword of suppression and would of been find.

He didn't expect the beast to lunch a range attack. All Ryan could do at this point was hide behind his long sword and think to himself not to make this mistake again.

(I need to make a mental note to not always jump in the air, and to make a new finisher attack. I am extremely defenseless in mid air.)

The beast fist turned bright red and smoke was oozing out. The beast sent the punch in Ryan direction. All Ryan could feel was the scorching air that surrounded him and a powerful force hitting his whole body. Everything went black before Ryan could have any more thoughts.

He woke up back on the stage, but the beast was gone. He still remember what had happened and realized he was unharmed some how. He felt the distinct pain from the attack, so he have no idea how he is fine.

He had really thought he had a chance at killing that rank3 beast but sadly he failed. Part of him feel like he could of killed it if he didn't jump stupidly in the air.

Ryan sat down to think about the exam, while waiting for everyone to get done.

Some time later the formation disappeared and Ryan could see everyone stages again. He stood up off the ground, he didn't want to look lazy to the judges.

"The exam is over. If you did so bad on these tests that you didn't even earn enough points to get a F, than there is no place for you here."

The city lord representative did a hand sign and the badge they had put down at the beginning came back out the floor.

"Your badge will have your grade on it and if you don't see a grade, than you failed."

Alot of people nervously reach down to check there grade and many was shocked. Not because they failed, it was because of how low there grade was. Ryan was shocked to see a F on his badge too. He know he didn't do that good but he at least thought he would get a C or D.

"I know what you all are thinking, it happens every year. But this is your true grade. Did you forget we only accept above average kids here. The F grade is for what we consider above average people but I hope yall didn't believe we only wanted you to stay at above average."

"The C grade was the highest we had today and that actually pretty impressive. Some of our students graduated at a C grade rating. If you enter a academy you will have to take this exam every time you rank up. That will be your chance to change your grade."

"By the way all the tests was scale to your rank, so don't think it will be easier when you rank up. You can't just expect to improve by only ranking up, you will have to train and learn alot to improve your grade."

"For the people with no grade head out that door." He said as he pointing in a direction.

13 people actually got off there stages and walked to the door. Ryan was surprised that many failed. Now that he think about it, he probably barely passed.

Ryan try to make eye contact with Brian but Brian was lost in his own world looking down at his badge.

His eyes traveled to Elizabeth and she looked back. Ryan seeing her expressionless face just looked away not bothering to try to talk to her across the distance.

"The academies already picked the students they want and if more than one academy want you, you can pick between them. We will start with the kids that have multiple invites."
