3 Unexpected visitorsChapter 2

It was not a good day.

It was not yet ten in the morning. Even so...

She sighed, letting her face rest against her hand as she leaned over the table, reflecting on what would be her most catastrophic birthday.

There was an endless list of math homework. The physics teacher had taken her notes hidden in the coat sleeve while taking the test. Could you believe she won an F-? That man was certainly a monster from another planet.

That was the serious thought of Angel crossing the path of the damned. The director's office! And she still had the French test to do! It was going to be another detention after school. It couldn't get any worse, could it?

It was the typical thing you should never think about. Everything can always get worse and worse.-Hey, stranger! - a classmate shouted for her, laughing.

Angel twitched.

It was going to be another day!

What was so wrong with her? Sixteen years! It just didn't fit into that environment of boring calculations. She didn't even pretend to follow the area of the mathematical sciences! An F- was unfair! Why just math? It could be science! The professor in the laboratory classes was very proud to say that she was one of his best students.

"What is it?" She let out a deep breath. - Is the director in a bad mood?

Well, maybe he wasn't that angry ... Just maybe.

There was a detail that no one expected. The director was about to retire and had decided that the last place he would like to be was in a classroom. The typical crisis is when you are about to retire.

Someone had decided to do a little cleaning in the school kitchen. Angel had still heard the cook's furious screams, very serious, and trying not to laugh. They had exchanged the groceries in the pots and the unattractive porridge that would be their breakfast was too salty.

Patience.

Anyway, the porridge was horrible. There was an excellent advantage of having an active metabolism. She ate almost everything. And everything included what a general practitioner would scream in horror or a nutritionist. The girl imagined an excellent and caloric breakfast that included fries and a hamburger with everything she was entitled to. Suddenly the diet of gaining a few extra pounds finally worked.

"Maybe furious!" Adam observed excitedly. - The party will be later. As soon as the school is closed. Angel's eyes widened.

Party.

Party when it involved teenagers in general, everything happened. And that was a problem. Sex? Well, she was still a virgin. Perhaps due to bad luck, Angel reflected that she was the only one in the entire school.

God! Conversations in the women's bathrooms were very educational on the subject.

"Sixteen years old, a virgin and I've never been kissed. A complete freak! Can it get any worse?"

Angel's thought was not encouraging.

Only there was a lot to get worse.

Lies? Lies were always trouble. Although very thin, the face was attractive and attracted a lot of attention. What girl doesn't want to be popular in high school and have friends after all? If the class veteran found out that the new candidate for the Descoladas group was still a virgin, it would be the end of the world.

Absolute Social Segregation!

-They will arrange detention for one month using the school pool after hours and without authorization. - she just said and shrugged, advancing to the board.

Party and pool. A tempting combination.

Only she has grounded again. That one seemed to last until she came of age. The adoptive parents had already appealed for everything. Angel's disappearances always raised scandalous comments. And if they knew what happened then ...

Taking courage, she stopped in front of the director's office door and sighed heavily. Maybe it was just, hopefully, another detention. If the director decided to call her parents ...

God!

-Angel what? - The short, fat man looked at their watchful eyes through their glasses on her as soon as she entered.

That was not a good sign.

The day was bad. Even before dawn ... No one would believe the story if she told it. Hopefully, she could get a permanent place at the nearest mental hospital. Well, it could have suddenly been a lack of medication. Another anxiety attack.

What teenager did not have these crises?

-Angel Forester. -The girl answered slowly.

"At the very least I'm screwed. Fucked. And without explanations. What the fuck!"

The man nodded slowly, looking back at the papers he held. Perhaps they were reports. The thought was worrying for the girl. What changes were there that the sheriff had not been able to cover up the story of a certain teenager who was missing and found in another state after five days?

-Let's see. - he said ruefully. - Transferred from a college in a big city. Little social behaviour. Intolerance to discipline. Low grades. Ah, look here how interesting: a very long list of detentions for unjustified absences.

Angel showed her best smile.

Social Behavior ?!

She had no friends there. She was considered a strange newcomer to the school, even after two months. It was unfair. She was struggling. Getting accepted by the Descoladas group had been a tremendous effort.

And cost many lies. Ah, what harm did they think she was like all of them? Mercy! Since when had virginity become such a problem?

"I will die old, alone, and a virgin!"

-They are exaggerating a little ...- Angel managed to speak after some time.

After all, accidents happened. It wasn't her fault that she was a kind of magnet for trouble. Or was it now a type of crime? And the story of the innocent until proven otherwise?

-The math teacher made observations ...

He continued the endless list of his best qualities.

The girl sighed.

Perhaps the director was part of a tortured group because she could have sworn that the physics teacher was certainly a space monster with those monstrous calculations. She would not be frightened if the unfortunate man suddenly created tentacles, wings, or a more grotesque appearance than the villains in her manga. He was a being from another world.

An alien. Surely an alien-looking like a giant calculator!

-... and besides being caught .... well, well! Cheating on evidence, Miss Forester?

Cheating?

Well, it was just noted after all. What harm was there in some mathematical formulas noted? It was such a small role. The problem was not the glues still hidden in her jeans pocket. These, at least, had not been found. She had been caught in the act in front of the whole class.

It was the problem with the formulas.

Pascal's triangle. Sudden death. What about combinatorics then? Perhaps it would be easier to understand German. A path that makes calculations of combinations easier? The use of Pascal's triangle made it easier to find the coefficients of the literal parts of a Newton binomial without having to calculate all the combinations.

Oh, what a joke! A whole week of studying and nothing! It couldn't be digested.

Her green eyes were lost in the sight of the lawn visible through the open window. Sunny day. What was she doing right there on her birthday?

"You came to school because the day was bad before you were electrocuted. And everything got worse after that."

The thought made her sigh again.

It had been very difficult to explain the situation at home. A small bare wire in the dryer and the wet bathroom floor. Perhaps it would have been better to at least pretend to be unwell.

Or dizziness!

Why hadn't she done this?

An apology?

Was the director going to demand an apology? Ah, it was so difficult and unfair to apologize when you didn't feel sorry ... It had been a damned and unfortunate accident. Who never lost control once in a while?

"But you saw it, didn't you? Did you see the bright, blinding flash that appeared out of nowhere in the living room in midair? And did you also see what came out of it? Was it a man?"

Well, he wasn't quite a man, but he was a humanoid.

It had been a hallucination. It was certainly not a good combination to mix energy drinks and drinks.

Hell! What sixteen-year-old didn't drink? Her father complained nonstop! And she didn't even smoke cigarettes like her older foster brother.

Distracted, Angel shook her head remembering how it all started ...

The blinding jets of coloured lights in the dining room ...

The father screams when he fell attacked by one of those things.

Her trembling fingers touched the burned wrist.

It had been just before dawn. They were going to watch a classic movie ... She loved stories about pirates and corsairs.

Only then ...
