2 Family Meeting

The sun have not wake the sky, but an alarm is going off.

Landon reach out to his phone to turn off his alarm. Every morning Landon wakes up at 5 am, He go to the bathroom to fresh up. And change into workout clothes. Landon runs 4 miles every morning, cools down by stretching, and swim. At 7 am, He goes home: shower, eat a healthy meal, and then leaves to work at 8am. But that's when he is not busy. However this time after he eats, he packs up a bag for the weekend, with his electronics, his next script, and for the road snacks.

He check the house making sure everything was off and that he didn't forget anything. He left out the door, into the elevator, and down to the garage. He went to the car and settle everything. Once he check the traffic in his phone and got his music ready, he drove off.

Halfway to the trip home, Landon gets a call from his best friend.

"Hello"

"Hey Lan, are you going home this weekend?"

"Yeah I am on my way now. Why?"

"Ooh. Guess what so am I."

"How you know I was going home?" Landon wondered if he is going to see Elliott on Saturday.

"While my parents want me to come home this weekend. So they told me that you are also coming home. Also they mention a party, your family is having on Saturday, and that I have to go to it." Landon just nod as he listen.

"Okay, what time are you going to be at your family estate?" Landon was thinking of going over to greet the Kang elders.

"Aww, does Lannie want to see me. I will get to my family home at noon, because I have to deadline to finish. But I wish can go home sooner. Since my baby Lan miss me." Elliott playful joke will him.

"No, I see you at least once a week when I am not filming. I want to go over to greet the elders." Landon shake his head at Elliott words.

"I know, I was just joking. So, I'll see you at noon?"

"Yeah, bye" Landon answer ready to hang up.

"Bye Lan."

As the conversation ended, Elliott got to the gate of his estate. He wave at the gatekeeper to open the gate. Now the gate opens to a road, that takes about 20 minutes to the main home. However, the start 10 minutes takes you on a split path. One is for the main house, and the other is Landon brother's family house. Landon didn't want to build his own house because he wanted to live in the city closer to work. Though it only takes an hour from his family house to his agency. And the same with when Landon dad and brother go to work.

Landon gets to the main house, it's a beautiful house. A white mansion with black frame window and door. In the middle of the drive way is a fountain with roses around it and grass. There are trees and plants around the house and drive way. It's like a Beverly Hill house, but more down to earth and cozy feeling.

Parks his car front of the entrance and his mother opens the door.

"You're here so early. Are you hungry?"

"No I ate before I came here. Is everyone home?" Landon walks to the family room.

"Yeah, just settle down I'll tell everyone you're here. They are eating right now. We will all talk once everyone is done eating." His mother tells him, as she guides him to sit down. And then she leaves.

Landon waits in the living room, he wants to take out his work but he know he won't be able to focus. So he just rest on the couch and thinks about what is the meeting about. Is someone sick? If so who is sick is it one of my grandparents or parents? Is his brother going to announce something about him and his wife? Did they want him to quite his job?

Breaking him out of his thoughts, is his brother Lee Christian or Chris for short and his wife Song Mary walk in to the living room. Chris has his arms supporting Mary down to sit on the couch, and him making her comfortable by fixing her pillow and giving her a blanket. Then he goes to sit next to her and massage her legs.

"Hey brother, is everything okay." Landon wonder if his brother is loving his wife to much? Or if he is fixing a mistake? Or if she's sick?

Before his brother can answer him, his parent and grandparents came into the living room.

"Hi grandpa, grandma, and dad." Landon goes to hug his grandma and nods to his grandpa and dad.

"Hi dear, sit back down. You didn't have to get up. You must be tired from the drive. How are you?" His grandma said to him as she pulls him back to sit down.

"I am doing good, getting a break from work after being so busy from working for six months straight. Also grandma and mom can sit next to me." Landon pat the seats on both side of him.

"Okay that's nice." So they go sit next to him, while his dad and grandpa sit on the two arm chairs.

[Landon POV]

"So, let's start with the meeting. First, Landon how have your work been?" My dad start, as everyone looks at me.

"It's doing great. Last weekend I finish my third movie this year." I smile remembering my hard work for the movie.

"That's nice. So will you ever quit and would at the company?" This time it was his grandpa that ask a question.

It's understandable why he ask, because the whole family knows that he only went into acting to pass some time. But who would have thought I would stay for 7 years. And also become so popular to be call Film Prince, when I see articles or my fans call me that, I can't help but feel embarrass. Anyhow, I actually really likes to be an actor. I can travel and I do not have to be stuck in a office all day.

Another reason grandpa ask is because he make the company more bigger and stable. At first it was just a weapons making company and estate companies my great grandparents own. Then grandpa invested in oil and made it into a sub company of the Lee family. He want to invest in something to make the company bigger for that he could marry my grandma. And then my father decided to make a hospital and invest into hospitals, because my mom is a famous surgeon and she comes from a medical family. Then Chris, when he become president he had the company open IT company. Also with the help of my sister in law. She's a really good hacker and other stuff for systems but that's a secret, she actually runs the IT Company. However, she doesn't want people to know who she is so brother is the face but she's the brains. Though brother hates when I say that.

"I understand that we have a lot of business under our wings. And you guys need help managing them but I really like acting at the moment. But I'll help once I found the satisfactory moment to leave." I don't know how to explain to them to understand but I want to leave the entertainment industry when I make a big impact on it.

"Fine, whatever you want. Now let's get to the main topic of this meeting." Chris change the topic before things get tense.

"Okay, your right. Now we all need to calm down and relax. Especially, you Landon I want you to open your mind and listen to everything." Mother agree with Chris, but why is everyone picking on me today?

"So.. your brother have an announcement to make." Mother signal Chris to talk.

"Okay! We are having a baby!! And it's a.. BOY!!" Chris happily shout. As he and Mary kiss, as they rub her stomach.

"Wow! Congratulations Bro. I hope everything goes well." I bless him, giving him a hug.

"I know, it's so great I am so excited for the baby to come." Mother cheered with joy, but it sound like she already knew?

I look around and it looks like everyone knew.!?

"Wait!?! Did everyone already know this?" I look at them weirdly.

"Yes, we did but it's a perfectly good reason why. Right Al." Grandma comfort me, as she push grandpa to continue on.

"Okay. Landon my boy you have to marry a boy. You can't have kids." Once those words left grandpa mouth, I pause. What did he just say? And why can't I have kids?

"Please, repeat.. Wait no.. Explain to me why? Or like what is happening?" My mind can't just wrap around this meeting. Like what the heck.

"Okay so the reason the the family empire was not mess inherent conflict is because of the family rules." Dad was trying to explain.

"What rules why I haven't heard these rules?" I try to be calm, like how can this be happening.

"Okay so these rules have been in the family for decades, and the reason why we didn't tell you is because we wanted you to have some freedom."

"FREEDOM YOU GUVE ME FREEDOM AND THEN THROW IT AWAY LIKE A TOY!" Did they even think about this. I stand to help at them

"Landon come down a listen to the explanation, and then you can blow up." My brother calms me, I sit down as I clinch my hands and bite my tongue.

"The family rules are something to talk about then you got mature and could handle the idea. Which by waiting we gave you freedom." Dad reason with me. I just star and nod, waiting for them to continue speaking. He takes out a document from a book and gave it to grandpa.

"So the rules are: 1. The first born is to become an heir of the family empire. No changes ifs only the first born child. 2. Any male born after have to marry the same gender. However, it will only happen if the first born gets pregnant with a boy. 3. Any female born in the family gets marry to families. 4. If these rules are broken, individuals are ban from the family. Sign by great elder Lee, witness the Lin & Song Law Firm." Grandpa read me the document. I just sat there can not believing this is real.

"Is this the family meeting and brothers party the only reason why I am here? Or did you also already pick the person I am marrying." I felt defeated like I don't know what to feel anymore.

"Yes, we did." Mother told me as she hold me hand.

I just laugh and whisper "who is it?"

Mother smile and said "you'll see tonight."

I just nodded and went to my room.
