2 The anger

"Can someone tell me what's going on? Why are you guys acting crazy?!" she yelled. The girls looked at each other murmuring to each other. After a moment one of the girls stepped forward and shyly twiddled her thumbs before saying, "We all may have heard that Jaison started spreading rumors about you." oh shit, trying to keep her calm was all for nothing. She's going to kill someone if this turns out bad. Chloe grabs the girl by her collar and pulls her close. "What type of rumors!?" the girl was terrified. One of the other girls stepped in and said, "He said that the two of you had sex last week. He's been calling you a slut to the other guys at school! He told them to stay away from you." Chloe dropped the girl onto the floor and stepped over her. This isn't going to end well. I better get ready to fight, because she is about to start some shit. I follow behind her as she makes her way down the hall. She was heading right for Jaisons locker. It was just bad luck for him and me that he was there. He was talking to a small group of people. One of those people just had to be Jayden. I tried to signal her to stop, but she was too pissed off to listen to me. She walked right up to Jaison and punched him in the face. He falls to the ground, holding his jaw with his hand. I run up behind Chloe and wrap my arms around her. She struggled to free herself from my grasp. It's not that I care if she kicked his ass, but that's not the case here. She wants to kill him. Jaison slowly stands with the help of one of his friends. "What the hell is wrong with you!? Crazy bitch!" I rolled my eyes and let her go. She steps up to him and he backs down.

"She heard all about your little rumors. She just wanted to thank you for your words. You're just lucky I followed her, otherwise, you'd be dead." I manage to say between uncontrollable giggles. They were looking at us like we were insane. She raises her fist to punch him again, but before she could he throws his hands up to cover his face and yells, "I'm sorry! It was just a joke! Please!?" she lowers her hand and looks back at me. I shrug and then she does the same.

"You look so sad. I can't believe that anyone would want to be with you. You're so weak." she looks back at me again, "Isn't he?" I nod in agreement. I cross my arms and look up at the clock hanging on the hallway wall. "Hey, Chloe? We're going to be late for class. We should go. He wasn't worth it from the beginning and he's still not, so let's leave." I say as I turn to head off to class. I look back and see her nod her head and then follow behind me.

Class is so fucking boring. The day was going like any other until gym class. As I got dressed in the locker room. Jayden kept staring at me. Maybe I angered him this morning. He doesn't look angry, but maybe confused? I turn away and continue to dress. Everyone started to rush out of the locker room and into the gym. Everyone except him. He just stood there eyeing me. Once I was finished dressing I headed for the door.

"Yo Peterson, hold up a sec!" he called after me. I stood stiff as he came up behind me. "Why are you in such a hurry? You can spare a moment to talk, can't you?" he said as he grabbed my shoulder. "D-did I do something wrong?" I asked, trying to be cautious of what I said. He squeezed my shoulder tightly and turned me around. Before I could react he punched me in the stomach. I fell to the ground hitting my head on the floor. I gasped for air just before his foot hit me square in the nose. I could feel as blood dripped from my nose, down my face, and onto the floor. He then kicked me in the chest twice before kneeling and whispering in my ear, "This is a lesson. You can't keep hiding behind that little girl forever." and then he stood up and walked out of the room. My head was spinning and I couldn't see straight. I could hear my phone's ringtone in the distance. Everything was going dark.

When I opened my eyes I was looking into my mom's face. She was crying and screaming in pain. "Run! Please just go, mommy will be right behind you! Now go!" tears stream from my eyes as I try to force myself from standing. Even with all of my might, I couldn't keep myself from standing and running away. I run through the fire until I see a bright light. This wasn't here before. I run towards it, but the farther I run the farther it gets from me.

I suddenly open my eyes and see doctors surrounding me.

"Someone get the mother! Tell her he's fine, so she can stop yelling!" the doctor was a woman. She was short and had long dark brown hair and hazel eyes.

"What's going on!? Where's Chloe!?" my voice was hoarse and my body ached in ways I didn't know it could.

"It's okay Alex, you're safe here. Your friend is just outside with your family. Everything is okay." she said, trying to reassure me. The events leading up to this began to flood my mind. My head hurts and everything else as well.
