8 An unlikely friendship?

I can't believe what i've just heard. Jayden...the same Jayden who kicked my ass two weeks ago, wants to be friends with me!? This is the worst prank he could have ever pooled. As if I would believe him.

"You really think i'm that stupid? So what's your play here? I say, "Yeah let's be friends" and then you go and laugh at me with your fake ass friends? Yeah right!" I grabbed my drink and took a sip. It was actually pretty good.

"That's not it at all! Look, I just think we got off on the wrong foot before." he was now leaning in close. I wanted to spit in his face, but that would be nasty so i'll spit words instead.

"Got off on the wrong foot, you say? Like the foot you used to kick me in the face?" he sighed in annoyance and then leaned back in his chair.

"Why the fuck are you acting like this? I'm just trying to start over so we can be friends." I scoffed and rolled my eyes. Oh wow, he's really trying to fool me isn't he. It's would be almost laughable if he kept this shurade up even after today.

"Why? Tell me why you just decide that you want to be my friend after you tortured me for so long? Is another one of you sick games? Tell me, if I don't do what you ask are you going to show up in my bedroom next or put me back in the hospital and threaten me?" he opened his mouth to say something, but I guess he decided against it because he just put his head down. I narrowed my eyes at him before taking out my phone to check the time. The screen blinks on and the time read 7:14.

"Jayden, we have to go. School starts soon and I really can't be late. Let's go." I stood up and began to walk towards the door. Something felt off so I turned around to say something, but he wasn't behind me. He was still sitting hunched over in his seat. I made my way back to the table. I walked up right behind his chair and tapped his shoulder. "Hey, didn't you hear me? We need to go...like now!" he lifted his head and leaned back to look up at me.

"This is more important than school. Sit back down and let's talk a little longer." I was more than annoyed at this point. I walked around his chair and grabbed him by the arm.

"Don't make me pull you out of this chair. You don't even have to drive me to school, just drop me off where you found me. I need to get to school before it's too late. My mom will lose her shit if she finds out that I came here instead of school!" he sighed and stood up. I couldn't help but smile. If I get to class on time then I won't have to deal with Alice.

"C'mon. I'll take to school, but we have to finish this conversation later, alright?" I nodded my head and began to tug on his arm so he would hurry. I rushed to the car, quicky opened the door and jumped into the seat. Jayden slowly got into the car with an annoyed look on his face. The face was obviously because as soon as we drove off we started to argue about how slow he was driving. He kept saying, 'There are laws." yeah well you don't have Alice up your ass for being late to school.

Once we were at school I jumped out of the class and flipped Jayden off before rushing through the halls at top speed. I burst into my class and slid into my seat next to Chloe and as if I were actually racing it, the bell rang right after I dropped in my seat. Chloe looked at me with a surprised expression. I raise my eyebrow at her.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I had to whisper as soft as I coud. This teacher is extra. Chloe then changed her expression to a sassy a sarcastic one.

"What the hell do you mean, why am I looking at you like this? First off, you were almost late. Second you lied to me about having things to do, only for me to find out that you were with you abuser and third you ditched me this morning and went on a date with him!" she look more excited than angry so I guess she would rather hug me than punch me right now.

"First of all, I lied because he was ready to attack me, literally tried to kill me. Second I was not on a date with my abuser. He wanted to clear the air between us, which I think is a front so he can kill me. And lastly, I was almost late because he wanted to play games and not drive me to school. That asshole." I crossed my arms ad leaned back in my chair. I knew this would get a rise out of her to hear. By the time the class is over she'd have already secretly texted her little possie all the details. She never fails to get information to share with her girl group.

"So, he's trying to get close to you, is what you're telling me right now? Like did he say anything specific about how close he wants the two of you to be? You literally need to give me more. I am so invested." I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"How about we just talk after class?" she nodded her head and pulled out her phone under the table. There she goes texting her friends her latest scoop on my life. I wonder what stories they're going to make up in their weird little heads. I let out a little chuckle and pull out my pen and paper to take notes. I really have to talk her out of making fantasies out of my interactions with any guy. How did I get such a crazy person for a best friend? Speaking of friends, what am I going to do about Jayden? It's very unlikely that we'd ever be friends. I mean, i'm not a character in some cheesy manga were my bully becomes my best friend or worse my lover. I'm just going to deal with it later...or i'll chicken out and run away from my problems. Yeah the second one sounds way more like me.
