1 Something New

It was August 30, 2010. My family and i decided to move to a small town in Massachusetts. As i watched the trees zoom by i wondered what my new school would be like. As we pulled into the neighborhood surrounded by trees and the rocky ground shaking the car, as we drove down the road a blonde haired boy was walking we passed him and i waved to him and he smiled. The second house was ours, we pulled into the long driveway and pulled up to a big house surrounded by woods. The flowers were so beautiful it was the end of summer but everything still looked great, clear skies, the wind blew through my long hair the sun shined on my skin making it feel like home. I got my bags out of the car and headed to the door. When you walk in the stairs are on the left along with the entrance to the living room and the office is to the right, next to the stairs is a long hallway with a closet on the right, then there is the kitchen it has a tiny window and to the right is the dining room. I head upstairs and find my room, i am the oldest so i get the bigger room i have 3 siblings, the movers are moving things in, so i stay out of their way. I explore the outside of the house, there is an old playground that the twins are gonna love once we fix it up. I go back inside the house and head to Nathaniel's room he finished unpacking. "The boxes are in the garage" he says not looking away from his computer. " good you don't mind helping the twins do you?" He gets up and walks out of the room. I head into the twins room kara and lacy are playing with their dolls running around giggling, Nathaniel starts unpacking, i walk out and start to unpack my room it takes me a while but i finish and head downstairs, dad is in the office setting up the computer all the furniture is in place mom must have ordered them to set it perfectly which adds to their tip money i roll my eyes. I head back upstairs after getting some water and i knock on Nathaniel's door. "Come in" i walk in and see him on the xbox, he pauses the game and looks at me, "Can you ask mom for an extra day of unpacking, school starts tomorrow and i don't really want to go yet." "She is gonna say no, you know" i say. "Please, Rose she will listen to you." he says trying to sound brave but not annoyed by me being her favorite. "Fine, i'll see what i can do." I walk out of his room and go to mom's room, she is unpacking the bathroom i open up a box and start putting their clothes into their dresser organizing it, mom walks out and looks at me, "Can we have an extra day of unpacking please?" i say with confidence. She looks at me and she is trying not to say no, "sure, but know that just because Nathaniel thinks you are my favorite he is wrong." I nod slowly because i can tell she is lying. First day of school, i'm wearing a dress with flowers all over it and my hair is in a messy bun but i look great. I walk in through the doors and head for the office, i walk in and get my schedule. That's when i met her Ellice, she is wearing a crop-top with a black leather jacket with high black boots and black jeans, she has brown long wavy hair. She is beautiful, she had a great smile and she knew everyone, everyone wanted to be her and be her friend, i was her friend now and i would be for the rest of my high school years. Out of the corner of my eye i see a boy staring at me, i ask ellice she says that his name is Ethan. He is the freak of the school she says looking away in disgust. I look at him and smile trying to understand why people don't like him he looks like a normal kid. We walk to english together and we sit next to each other, ethan

walks in and sits in the back with his headphones on, the teacher walks in and calls role, i sit quietly but i know he is staring at me, he makes me feel uncomfortable, i raise my hand and ask if i can go to the bathroom. I roam the halls trying to figure out why he is staring at me, i walk into the bathroom and look at myself in the mirror. The bell rings so i head to my next class. I have art, i swim through the crowds of people, i'm being kicked in the knee and pushed, i aim for the door and gasp for air when i walk in the classroom. Ethan is staring at me he's the first one in the classroom, i try to smile but i'm out of breath and i might pass out, i sit down in the seat next to him and i take out my book and start drawing a picture of the teacher her name is Ms. Partos, she starts talking and i keep drawing her. She walks to the back and takes my book and shows the class, i turn red and want to disappear. "This is how you do a portrait, you must use perfect strokes of your pencil to create a masterpiece." she says with a proud tone. "I expect great things from you rose" i smile and she hands me my book back. After class i run to my locker and grab all the books i need and slam my locker shut. Ethan is still staring at me and i walk up to him. "Hi." i say confident. He stares at me in a weird way and it makes me think he doesn't speak, but ellice rushes over and grabs my hand before james can say anything and she drags me to the bathroom, "Why did you talk to him, i told you no one is supposed to be with people like them." her words are bitter and it stings a little. "Sorry. But i refuse to be friends with someone like you, you're all so selfish and you need to learn that those people are just like us."
