22 Level up

The energy in the room alerted Kazumi just as she was about to summon her sword, she saw Li Yong stretch his hand to block her from intervening. Kazumi was about to protest when she saw Bai covered in light and snowflake, the ones you could see their design with the naked eye.

Kazumi sucked in air in surprise "How beautiful!" she murmured but still was caught by Bai's ears a smile bloomed on his face.

At this sight, Li Yong and Qui Tou were left dumbfounded.

"Is this normal?" After she regained composure, she asked Li Yong as she hadn't the less idea of what was happening at the cub 'such strong energy' that's all that could come to her mind at the moment.

"He's leveling up, and at how strong the magic pressure is, he is most likely that his growth is also going to happen now" He tried to explain but was more worried about the fact that Bai had reached the point that his accumulated magic was enough for him to level up and reached maturity in one go.

"Maturity? Isn't he just a child how can that even happen?" She clearly didn't get the concept of how beastkin reach adulthood.

Li Yong explains:

Beastkin grows up in two ways first is the regular growth rate in which a child reaches his maturity with the falling of the years, although they are not very powerful, they can still use magic. As such is the case with most females.

The second is for the beast to accumulate a vast amount of magic and store it until it is ready to be released but, it is done periodically not in one go as Bai is doing so. By releasing this amount his body will mature to adapt and contain the energy, if not his body would start disintegrating.

"So, it's like that, but by the looks of its, Bai had a vast amount of it. Will he be okay?" Kazumi frowned to the though of Bai getting injured, he was young… Let's help him a bit. After the thought crossed her mind, she started chanting and a glittered array appeared under her feet letting out a faint blue cool light that made one's mind calm every time the breeze hit them.

The moment the breeze came into contact with Bai, the energy started synchronizing orderly creating a vortex of light and snowflakes. After what seemed a long time the hand of a young man cut through the vortex. The moment his hand went through the vortex ceased and the flake dispersed leaving nothing but the sight of a young man standing in the middle

His body was milk-white with intricate red designs on his chest and ears as if someone was working on a piece of art. His long blue ocean eyes reflected everything.

Kazumi couldn't help but blush and turn the other way, the action leaving Bai a bit confused. Li Yong threw skin so he could cover himself.
